First- I have a furniture update: our dining room table top is scheduled for delivery on April 26th. That's 1 month and 11 days after it was supposed to be here. AWE-some, Bob's.
Let's see if it really does arrive before we leave for our trip...
Ben asked me if I had shared our latest countdown picture, and I realized I hadn't! Here it is:
Mickey's hand is making the '3' for the the 30's. Can't wait to see what the 20's will have in store!
Guess what? I pre-ordered a Photopass CD! When I saw how much cheaper it is to buy it before the trip, I just had to. Ben and I ended up buying the unlimited picture option of Sandals' version of Photopass on our honeymoon, so I am pretty sure this will end up being a good buy! We just have to make a point of getting tons of PP pictures taken!
We also received our $100 gift card for opening a Disney Visa:
This will be spent on food and/or alcohol. For sure. Those are the two things we buy the most in WDW- who needs souvenirs when you can get a drink?
As much as I feel like the trip will never get here, April is shaping up to be a doozy and I think time will go by quickly, after all.
I made the schedule at work and mine is kinda crappy. We have a very small staff and when day-off requests get made by others (especially when I know I am about to take 9 days off in a row in May and have a little guilt about that)... well, it makes it hard to plan a schedule that isn't terrible. Turns out I won't be able to take the day before we leave off, after all. Which isn't all bad- I'd probably be too antsy if I didn't have work to take my mind off the trip.
The one weekend I do have off is for a wedding we are traveling to Maryland for. That's 2 weeks before the trip, we are driving down Friday, wedding Saturday, and driving back Sunday.
The week before the trip is Easter, and our actual 1st anniversary.
Because of Easter (and the fact that I am working), we don't have any wild plans to celebrate (don't feel sorry for yourself, Joyce- a week later you are celebrating in WDW! I hafta keep telling myself that...) Since we don't have any wedding cake saved, I am going to try to get a reasonable small facsimile from the bakery that made it last year.
Ready for me to go off on a tangent? You're in luck- I feel one coming on!
Why don't we have our cake? Well... this is what our cake looked like:
See the pretty Gerbera daisies on top? They were still there when I peeked in the box after we got back from our week in Jamaica, all brown and gross looking.
So we made a snap decision to eat the cake then, to see if it was ruined. The frosting tasted like flowers (not a good thing), but the cake was OK once we scraped it off.
So, in addition to working the weekend straight through our 1st anniversary, I also will be pet sitting that week (just stopping in to feed a couple cats each day). Which is good cause it is a little extra food and booze money, but bad cause it will mean I get home from work later each day.
Sooo... looks like maybe I should start packing sooner rather than later, huh?

Swear to you. By 8pm I was elbow deep in vanilla almond cake, wrestling the fork away from him, convincing each other that it would NEVER taste this good a year from now. No regrets!
Lets make a dinner plan for when you get back from your trip. We used to live up there, so it will be easy to find a place! (and we can shamelessly pick your DVC brains!)
And I really have to read your TR to find out how you ended up buying DVC, that is one of my life goals, although my DH wants nothing to do with it!
I can't believe your trip is so close, I'm so jealous!!!

It will be here before you know it!
)
) but I fully plan on having a few beverages while at Disney. And the more we can drink for the least amount of $$$, the better!!!! I'm actually planning to stop by that gas station near DTD (Hess, I think?) and get a few grocery items and maybe some beer for DH. They're way too expensive in the hotels and parks!
