I didn't know the baby's powers so I covered the basics: An Oct. '11/March ‘12 PTR

I'm here to dance with you! Yay for single digits.:banana::dance3::dance3::yay::yay::woohoo::woohoo:party:

We need to find an official song for the single-digit dance. Anyone got any suggestions?

It was really awesome, we had a great time! I hope you guys do too!!

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

HOORAY FOR SINGLE DIGITS~!

I'm sooooo glad you had an awesome trip. Thanks for the bananas! :rotfl:

Catching up...I was almost a month behind! :scared1:

You did AWESOME! I've done all these, the Plaza is simple and delicious, Sci-Fi has those killer onion rings, 'Ohana-drool!, Cape May is soooo good (coming from a non-seafood eater here too!), and Chef Mickeys breakfast is tasty and FUN! I think you have some wonderful, and very memorable meals here!

You can do it!!!!! :yay: It's a short ride, so even if it freaks you out, it will be over soon. It's much shorter than Space Mountain.

As for the day, it will be busy, but FUN. Plus you have the afternoon downtime built in, you'll be fine! :goodvibes

How do they do that?! I'm always amazed at it too!!!

:rotfl: Love it!

They technically don't allow pics inside the CoP, so perhaps that's why you don't have any....with that said...I do. Love that fun fact too-Walt was so smart!

And where else can you see the back-side of water???

;)

That is adorable!!! They will be total pros when they get there in NINE days!

Wow, you make up ground quickly! :thumbsup2 Your life is so busy I don't even know how you have time read anything on the DIS, let alone keep TWO TRs going!

Ryan and Jack are definitely well-prepared for this trip. The goal of the videos was to make Jack less scared of everything (and it's worked!). Ryan on the other hand is ready to go tomorrow and wants to ride everything and see everything. That kid is fearless! :worship: And if anyone who's at WDW while we're there hears a 2-year-old laughing hysterically on Haunted Mansion, it'll probably Ryan because Kelley managed to convince the boys that those silly ghosties are just sooooo silly. And they totally believe it and think everything the ghosts do is hilarious (singing, dancing, etc.). :lmao:

Of all the Disney rides, this is the one that makes me feel most like a kid again. I love  the view of the castle you get while flying through the air.

1096987036_jHqHR-M.jpg

Plus, it's been the best way to see the FLE progress. :lmao:

I've seen more recent pictures of the construction from aboard Dumbo and it's really starting to take shape, I can't wait to see the progress for myself!

And now, Franklin's No. 9:
Test Track!

He says: "I'm more than a little obsessed with cars, so this ride plays into my need for speed." :car:

8. TTA PeopleMover
This is the ultimate “break within the park” kind of ride. Feet ache? Hop on the PeopleMover for a spin around Tomorrowland.

1091921294_w9m9A-M.jpg

I especially love riding it at night with Tomorrowland lit up in its rainbow of colors.

1091921343_Vavto-M.jpg

And before I finally conquered my fear of Space Mountain on our last trip,

1113326997_sninc-M.jpg

1113327175_89CSq-M.jpg

the PeopleMover was the only way I could ever catch a glimpse of the mysterious mountain.

And speaking of Space Mountain, here’s today’s entry in Franklin’s top-10
8. Space Mountain

1111351799_gtoCg-M.jpg

He says: “The darkness always leaves you guessing (and usually guessing wrong) which way the coaster is going to go.”

And we are back in Fantasyland!

It's a Small World- Been there, done that, got the song ingrained in my brain.
We have skipped this our last few trips. We will ride it if the wait is clearly 5 minutes or less, but we won't queue up for this one. Mark is the only one that feels guilty that we haven't done this in a couple of years.

Dumbo- we have never done this! Bad DISser!
Love the picture of you two on the ride! Great photo!

TTA- The Peoplemover.
I am thrilled to see this so high on your list! This is definitely an underrated attraction! I love the overviews you get of Tomorrowland. The narration is fun. There is rarely a line. It is a great place to go if you need to burn about 20 mintues before a FP becomes due. We all love this!

Wow! The Tomorrowland after dark pictures!!! Beautiful

Franklins picks- Splash, Test Track, Space- great selections!
Someone loves the thrill rides!!!

I love the people mover too, same reasons -- a nice break with a nice view!
I don't like Space Mountain. The guessing (wrong! haha) combined with the lack of head and neck support makes me ache afterwards. :/ lol

You know you couldn't keep me out of Fantasyland for very long! ;)

Peoplemover is a ride I ride every day I'm in the Magic Kingdom. It's just such a relaxing trip around Tomorrowland with such great views!

Yes, Franklin is quite the thrill junkie! :lmao:

Sorry Space Mountain makes you hurt. :sad2: It took me 24 years of Disney trips before I attempted to ride it, but luckily I haven't had the head or neck aches that other people have had after that ride.

So last week I got the packet in the mail that had my Magical Express stuff in it.

But sadly, the yellow DME tags said Polynesian (which was my second-to-last resort reservation.) TA Brook quickly called DME and had them update my info and send out a new packet with new tags, which I got yesterday!

One week out and it looks like we've got everything we need to go! :woohoo:

I have this weird feeling like I feel like I should be doing something, but I can't put my finger on what. All my planning is beyond done. And since it's just me and Franklin, we don't really need to start packing until next week. Hopefully I'll figure it out soon.

7. Mickey’s PhilharMagic
Can you believe this took a spot this high on the list and I’ve only seen the show once?!?! And Dee, I swear this our last stop in Fantasyland!

1113326893_4xXhA-M.jpg

But that’s how perfect I think this show is. As I’ve mentioned, I love, love, LOVE the 90s animated Disney movies. This movie creatively weaves some of the most fabulous songs from my favorite movies into one beautiful show! It’s also really cute to see all the little kids reaching out to touch the 3-D characters and try to grab the jewels that float out from the screen.

I wanted to tell you my favorite song from the film, but I can’t seem to decide between The Little Mermaid’s “Part of Your World” or The Lion King’s “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King.” Decisions, decisions! Which song is your favorite in the show?

And now, Franklin’s top-10 list

7. Big Thunder Mountain

He says: “It has a classic, old-school coaster feel. I like the sounds of the chain as you climb the hill and the abrupt direction changes.”

Both Philharmagic and Big Thunder Mountain are admirable entrants on your top 10 lists.

We revisited Mickey's Philharmagic on our 1-day MK trip in July to get an airconditioned break from our hard-core commando day. It was the perfect attraction for recharging. I love the animated movies and the songs from it too. I'll pick "Part of Your World"

But can someone explain why it is Mickey's Philharmagic when Donald is clearly the star of the show?

Big Thunder is one of our family's very favorite rides and makes it much higher on my personal list.

Excellent point about Donald! Why does Donald always seem to get the shaft? One vote for "Part of Your World." I'll make my pick after I see the show again next week.

You and I are on the same page about BTM, just wait to see where it lands on MY list! :rolleyes1

6. Test Track
Lets be honest, this ride is all about the last lap. Everything else on the ride tries to tell the “story” of riding in a test vehicle, but really you just put up with it for that last outdoor lap where you reach speed of 65 mph. :car:

482897196_9FsuX-M.jpg

482897405_hCMBP-M.jpg

It took all of one ride for us to realize there would never be a reason for the two of us to ride anything other than single rider (cue Franklin singing “All the single riders” like Beyonce :lmao:). And the longest we’ve ever waited in the single rider line is 10 minutes, it’s awesome!

Franklin’s No. 6?
Dumbo :dumbo:

1096986734_qDhne-M.jpg

He says: “Dumbo is my favorite character and the ride brings me right back to my childhood.”

Missy again: What he didn’t tell you was he had this Dumbo stuffed animal he got at Disneyland when he was really, really little and that little guy went everywhere with him. And he still has that ratty plush and even bought an updated Dumbo doll in 2009. So cute! :goodvibes

I adore PhilharMagic, so so so much! I reach out for the gems every single time. I also completely agree about Test Track being all about the last lap, lol!
Loving this countdown!

5. Haunted Mansion
This just may be the best-themed attraction in all of Disney World. Every inch, every sight, every sound adds to the creepy atmosphere.

1091920321_Ba3KA-M.jpg

The special effects are awesome!

1091920334_EFZsp-M.jpg

I cannot wait to see the new, updated version of the hitchhikers at the end of ride.

1091920557_KyKmo-M.jpg

“Grim, Grinning Ghosts” is far and away my favorite song on the park CD.

1091920479_rn5xC-M.jpg

I also can’t wait to ride it during the Halloween party with the dressed up CMs and extra creepy atmosphere.

Franklin’s top-10
5. Rock-n-Roller Coaster

1091915158_GQSAT-M.jpg

He says: “The launch is fun. I like the dark backdrop with the neon roadsigns and how you have no idea which direction you’re going in.”

Number 6- Test Track and Dumbo

Ben was reading over my shoulder and said "She's right! It IS all about the last lap!" I'm always tempted to ask my family to do a silly photo, like we are all sleeping or YMCA, but I always chicken out.

Thanks for the single rider tip.

Very very cute story about Dumbo! My avatar, the Little People lion, is Nay Nay Roar, who was Nate's security item from the time he was 18 months old. He carried it around everywhere, and would occasionally lose/hide it and we had to tear the house apart to find it. We still have the original, but just in case, we ordered a back up from ebay when he was younger (the toy was discontinued by Fisher Price).

Number 5- Haunted Mansion and RockNRollercoaster

You are so right! The details and theming of this attraction are amazing! Every time we go through I spot something new.

Once again, great pictures! :worship:

The new, interactive queue will be new to you too, right?

We have only done RNR a few times. Ben refuses to ride and Nate tried it for the first time in 2010. He LOVED it and it is now his favorite ride at Disney. We call it his "gateway coaster". He now has an addiction to the rush and there isn't a coaster he won't try. :scared1:

Oh, and personal story. Aerosmith was my first concert. My brother and me when we were in middle school. Steven Tyler passed out after the 2nd song.

Hi Missy!
Yes! Our whole group is getting very excited about the trip coming up this week!!!
We are staying at OKW, but we have a rental car so we can park right at the door of our villa so that makes it all good! It's a huge resort, but quite lovely! I have my sub plans almost done. One assignment to complete for my Master's class tomorrow night, and packing to get started today just as soon as the laundry is completed. Whew!!!
How about you?
Are you and Franklin ready to go?
Did I mention the Dis Meet at 6:00 outside of MK on the 16th? Our group is going in for the Halloween party and is meeting up with some others that won't be attending. Just wanted to let you know in case you were around since you are staying next door....:rolleyes1

I LOVE  the YMCA idea for a Test Track photo! Awww, and I loved the story about Nay Nay Roar. I just picked up the cutest little Dumbo bean bag animal for Franklin for the trip, he'll be our mascot for the trip report!

Can't wait to try the new Haunted Mansion queue, looks like a lot of fun!

I saw Aerosmith about a decade ago, love their music and hope I like their coaster as much! :rotfl:

Oooooooo, a Dismeet on the 16th! It's our Epcot day, but I'll see if I can mosey over for a few minutes. :thumbsup2 Thanks for the invite!

We're pretty much ready to go except for the whole packing thing. After living through packing for a two-week trip to Europe in June, packing for five days in Disney seems like a breeze! Now, I just have to actually do it. :lmao:

I have loved your countdown so far! And woo-hoo for being SO close!
:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
I can't wait to to hear all about your trip when you get back. And as for the RnRC...TRY IT! If you can handle Space Mountain, you can do this, too. I will absolutely, positively not ride roller coasters anywhere but Disney, as they always make me a bit ill, but I loved RnRRC. :thumbsup2 Oh, and I suspect you'll enjoy Citirico's and will LOVE Cali Grill. We had an amazing meal there when we ate there back in February 2010 on our anniversary, adults-only trip. A magical meal, with a seat right in front of the windows to watch Wishes. :cloud9:

Thanks for all the woo-hoos! I can't believe we're only four days away!!! (speaking of four days away, I swear I'm putting up today's countdown entry soon. Work has been really busy for the past few hours, but I should get a break soon.) I totally think I'm gonna give R-n-R a shot (someone tell Franklin to block the chicken exit!). Glad to hear you liked Citricos and your Cali Grill meal sounds simply devine! I hope we have a similarly wonderful experience. :cloud9:

4. Toy Story Midway Mania
This game is so much fun, we bought the Wii version to play at home. The upside to playing it in your living room is there’s no crush of humanity to get to it.

1194371513_FHVQW-M.jpg

It’s a fun non-thrill ride that everyone in the family can ride, which is a fairly unique thing at WDW and especially at DHS. It’s also why the crowds to ride it are ridiculous.

But like I said when describing Buzz Lightyear Ranger Spin, I have never beat Franklin at TSM. It could be because I spend hours a day on these boards and he spends those hours playing video games. :lmao: Here was our last showdown:

1194371611_SPU3e-M.jpg

But Toy Story is one of my favorite Disney movies and the game they've created is unlike any other attraction at any of the parks. So we will continue to trek to DHS at RD in the hopes of grabbing a few of these.

Onto Franklin's top 10!

4. Star Tours

He says: "Because it’s Star Wars and I’m an admitted Star Wars geek." Simple enough answer, right? :rotfl:
