I guess the first night of MNSSHP is Sept. 15th, which is the day that my family and I are supposed to be in the Magic Kingdom. We already have an ADR for Crystal Palace at 5:45pm, and planned on being in the park until closing, since it is our last full day in WDW and we figured seeing the castle last thing before we leave would be our thing.

I already have ADR's for all the places we want to eat each day that we are in the parks. Now, it looks like I may have to switch two parks around, since we dont want to leave the park right after dinner, and my family does not want to go to the halloween party. Uuuggghhh...during free dining its going to be impossible to switch ADR's isnt it? Oh, and we are a party of 8!

Any suggestions?

i don't think you'll have much trouble switching ADR's...i called yesterday morning to get an ADR at LTT for sept. 15th, since we decided to attend MNSSHP as a surprise for DD's b-day (it just happens to be her birthday :) ) and the CM told me she had pretty much anything available between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. i recommend calling as soon as possible, though. good luck!

I don't think you'll have much problems switching ADR's since it's still low season, but the only way to know for sure is to call. Here's some options for you.

Keep your ADR, after dinner take the monorail to those resorts to explore & shop then watch the special Hallowishes from the beach at the Poly.

Change your ADR to lunch and go to a different park in the afternoon or after your break if you're taking one. You'll still have the castle on your last day but could stay til a later close & see Fantasmic or Illuminations for your last night. This assumes you have park hopping. Or just change this ADR to a different park for dinner and spend the morning at MK and evening at another park.

Change park days and do a different park this day changing your ADR's for both days.

I know you said you didn't want to leave the park after dinner but it's a quick monorail ride to Epcot which is open til 9. Again you'd need park hopping tickets.

Good luck deciding, Calie

For Sept. 15th I called just now and was told a table for 4 was not available until 6:25 p.m. and 2 tables for 2 were very tight too. I got 2 tables at 5:25 p.m.

My suggestion would be to try for a dinner ADR at Garden Grille and stay at Epcot for Illuminations. I know it's not the castle, but it's still a wonderful way to end the trip.

I called around June 9th and originally got one of the last tables (or so I was told then) for the 15th at 4:10. After reading a post I learned that they have a separate ressie list if you ask them to look under special events. Sure enough, when I called back around the 14th I was able to get 5:55 for 3. I cancelled my 4:10 and took the 5:55-that was the earliest available. I didn't want be rushing through the gates at 4 to get there at 4:10. The second CM I spoke to (for the 5:55) said the other CM should have known about the special events listings (especially since she was the one I ordered MNSSHP tix from!). Anyway, thanks to these boards, I found out in time to change it to a little later. Hopefully, we'll be done in time for the start at 7. I would be surprised if any earlier times are still available. Good luck!

Same thing happened to us but for the September 22 MNSSHP. I switched 2 parks around and had no trouble getting ADR's.

We are attending the Sept. 29 MNSSHP and I knew if the kids found out there was one on the 22nd too they would want to do both of them. So I felt it best just to avoid the MK all together that day.

I agree with the suggestion of Epcot and Illuminations!
Fantasmic is also pretty good at DS.

I agree with Snowbunny. Buy tickets to MNSSHP and keep your current plans. It's a fun night -- great parade, trick-or-treating, wonderful fireworks, special picture opportunities, etc. We love MNSSHP.

You could try to get into one of the monorail resort restaurants...that way you could stay in the MK as long as possible, then just grab the monorail to dinner. Try the Councourse Steakhouse, Chef Mickey, O'Hana, Kona, or grab the boat over to Whispering Canyon. Or hop over to Epcot and eat at one of the World Showcase restaurants. They probably won't be super busy since it's low season and many people will be at MNSSHP.

Good Luck!!

OH.......Do you need some CHEESE??!!

That went right over my head, I hope you weren't implying that she was a whiner. :confused3

OP, I made the same mistake during our first trip with a MVMCP night. You have to juggle so many details in the air, it's impossible! I really hope you consider MNSSHP - granted I haven't done it yet so take this with a grain of salt but I do love the MVMCP - but it sounds like a blast for young and old(er).

Otherwise, perhaps keep the ADR, get your final glimpse of the castle, then hop the monorail to Epcot? Or, as someone else suggested, switch dinner to Epcot and enjoy Illuminations.

Good luck! We are a party of 5 and I have had good luck (*knock wood*)changing our ADRs around for our trip 9/16-9/24.
