I have no idea if this is right, it’s my first time planning an itinerary, ~ the times are just to give us an approx. idea, give/take, please let us know if I am way off and/or if we are missing anything?

Myself, DH DD 3, DD 1 ½ & Friends~DW, DH, DD 3 ½, DS 2

We have done AK 3x’s before however never with an itin. & always seem to miss something or walk in circles & friends first time ever.

As Always, All your input/advise/tips Greatly Appreciated here!!!

Tuesday, Sept. 7th
9:00 A.M. Opening Ceremony ~ The main characters roll up on the safari bus (this is just past discovery island and infront of the tree of life) and do the opening speil then roll off with a toot of the horn.

9:30 Kilimanjaro Safaris

10:15 Tough to be a Bug

11:00 Festival of the Lion King
11:45 Greeting Trails
12:30 Lunch ~ Pizzafari
1:15 Pocahontas

2:00 Wildlife Express Train to Affection Section ~ Petting Yard

2:45 Kali River Rapids

3:30 The Boneyard

4:00 Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade

Can you do the Petting Zoo thing and take the train back and get to Kali in 45 minutes? Never done those particular things in that order so I guess I am just wondering if you will have the time.

I found that the kids wanted to spend more time at the Petting Zoo and yes, it's a train ride over there. You have to walk from the train to the Conservation Station and out to the Petting Zoo then back to get on the train. I'd skip the petting zoo if you want to do AK all in one day. Also, walking back to Africa to go to the petting zoo from Camp Minnie Mickey is a not a hop, skip and a jump. We wasted a lot of time over there because my DH and DD had gotten caught up with the animals. I rested in the shade mostly while they played.

If this was my intinerary I would go from Africa (safari) and grab a FP to Bugs and then go to Camp Minnie and Mickey for the Lion King show and then back to the Tree of Life for the Bugs show...then onto Dinoland and then over to Asia.

I have the park maps all in my head from the last time we toured. LOL! I list in order the attractions we want to see and we no time because you can never tell what takes longer than what and usually people start to panic if time is moving faster than themselves.

No Tarzan?

You could also FP Kali on the way to the train and that'd save oh 30 min off your schedule

Seriously- No Tarzan?

Looks like you are going to have a blast!!!
The only comment I have is similar to zulaya's...45 mins to and from Conservation Station w/ petting zoo seems a little on the tight side to me. We were there last December with minimal crowds and I don't know if we could have made that time frame. I know one thing...you'll have a great time trying:earboy2:

According to the Disney website, Pocahontas will not be running Sept. 7-11. It recommends Flights of Wonder instead.

Fligts of Wonder was a cheesy bird show (bad acting), but we enjoyed seeing all of the smart birds though.

I agree - no Tarzan? That is one of my favorite shows.

Also, how much time are you planning on spending at The Boneyard? Is that the children's play area? My children enter that area and never come out - LOL! They really like to spend time there and I usually sit in a cool spot.

If you are planning on spending more than 15 minutes in the Boneyard you will not be able to get a spot to watch the parade. DH took the boys on Dinosaur and I took the girls to stake out a spot for the parade at 3:30 and spots were pretty hard to find at that point. We came out of DinoLand and headed right at ITTBAB and found a nice shaded spot near a gift store.

The parade is awesome.
Have a great day!

I agree with Momxx5, the Boneyard needs to be given more time, especially given the ages of your kids. My son, who just turned 4, loved digging for the dinosaur bones! I would do the Boneyard earlier in the day when the kids are tired of going from attraction to attraction, maybe right after lunch and instead of the petting zoo. That way you won't miss the parade.

LOL It would probably give you a heart attack to know that in my approximate 8 visits to DAK I have never once attended Tarzan. But if it makes you feel better, I have it on the agenda for this trip. I'm in the World for 14 days, I should have time to squeeze it in. :teeth:
