And for under $15 too!!
I made an MDF frame and found this vinyl tablecloth at Ross for under $4.00!! I stretched it, stapled it and Voila! It looks like a stretched canvas up close. :)

What do you think?

I love that idea! I might have to steal it.

It really looks good. Was it hard doing the corners?

Nope it wasnt hard at all just used a construction type stapler. I dont know that Id do MDF again though, it splits really easily and I wasted a day glueing and clamping it back together. I was going for lightweight though and MDF was a cheap way. I think pine might be a better choice for the frame next time though.
Make sure you save yourself lots of room to cover the frame too. I saved 2" all the way around and it wasnt enough so I had to go back and get them recut.

Here is a close up of the pattern. My phone camera isnt the best.

I need to tuck that corner in a bit more

Very nice! I do this but criss cross ribbon throughout the board, put a fancy pushpin where the ribbons intersect, and you have a memory board. Those can get quite pricey at boutiques!

yeah they can! Ive done those too and theyre a great project. This is by far the largest one Ive attempted though. Its just a rectangle frame, that is 68" X 46" with a large oblong tablecloth over it

Hi binny,
Very good idea and I like the fabric you used. Very good job. Also, it means more when you know you made it yourself. Keep up the good work! :thumbsup2

It fills up the space perfectly.

I did a headboard two months ago. I still have the empty wall, now you have me thinking. I could so do something like that to add some life to my bedroom. :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 Well I happen to think it is WICKED cool. Looks fabulous, very creative and all for the RIGHT price!!! :thumbsup2

Very cool. And you can change it with the seasons if you wish. :rotfl:
:rotfl2::rotfl2:

yeah that isnt going to happen!

Its up there till we move! Poor Cam had to climb up there and then jump to the stairs to get down!

I put a few more things up there some candle sticks and a vase with reeds in it. Ill update tomorrow when I have good light in there.

So here is what else Ive done in that area.

This is the top of the first flight of stairs. You can see it in some of the earlier pictures so I thought Id throw this one in here.

Nice!

All those vaulted ceilings and decorative nooks are very hard to deal with - you've done a great job.

I tease my kids that when they are grown they have to devote one Saturday a year to coming over and helping me de-cobweb and dust the stuff I have in those spots. I rely on their climbing abilities!

Are you going to put more pictures above the couch?

If not, why not do the same thing with a different tablecloth higher up above the couch? I love your idea though and it looks great!:thumbsup2
