And for under $15 too!!
I made an MDF frame and found this vinyl tablecloth at Ross for under $4.00!! I stretched it, stapled it and Voila! It looks like a stretched canvas up close.
Nope it wasnt hard at all just used a construction type stapler. I dont know that Id do MDF again though, it splits really easily and I wasted a day glueing and clamping it back together. I was going for lightweight though and MDF was a cheap way. I think pine might be a better choice for the frame next time though.
Make sure you save yourself lots of room to cover the frame too. I saved 2" all the way around and it wasnt enough so I had to go back and get them recut.
Very nice! I do this but criss cross ribbon throughout the board, put a fancy pushpin where the ribbons intersect, and you have a memory board. Those can get quite pricey at boutiques!

yeah they can! Ive done those too and theyre a great project. This is by far the largest one Ive attempted though. Its just a rectangle frame, that is 68" X 46" with a large oblong tablecloth over it
Hi binny,
Very good idea and I like the fabric you used. Very good job. Also, it means more when you know you made it yourself. Keep up the good work!

I did a headboard two months ago. I still have the empty wall, now you have me thinking. I could so do something like that to add some life to my bedroom.
All those vaulted ceilings and decorative nooks are very hard to deal with - you've done a great job.
I tease my kids that when they are grown they have to devote one Saturday a year to coming over and helping me de-cobweb and dust the stuff I have in those spots. I rely on their climbing abilities!
