I had no idea I wanted a gameboy advance, until I saw it for sale for 40 in Walmart's 5 hour black friday circular. I thought that would be a great, inexpensive christmas present for me! Also, I will be traveling for work in a couple weeks, so it will be great for the plane and hotel. Anyway, long story short, Walmart put their sale stuff online early, and yes, it got sold out while I was shopping (after it was already in my cart!). Called Walmart.com, they were absolutely no help. Then I see the post about the Toys R Us gameboy SP for 80. with the free cartoon network bundle, and I could order it online today (thanks to a wonderful DIS'er with the code). So, I'm feeling a little shaky, having spent too much on presents for everyone else, and my wallet crying for the effort. Please tell me I will love it and I will feel like it was $ well spent... I have a PS2, but my kids hog it (cause I let them).
Where is the best place to get inexpensive games?

I am planning to go Toy's R Us to get the Gameboy. I checked online to order it but I could not get the free stuff with it. (video and game) How do I get the code?

Thanks!! :wave2:

Update: I found the code on the post you were talking about. I ordered it. This beats getting up in 3hrs!!! LOL

Thanks!!!!:teeth:

Good for you for buying something for yourself! My son has the GBA SP and it's actually pretty fun. I can't help you with the games though, as I only buy clearance ones that I find on the coupon boards, etc. I won't pay more than $9.99 for them, so needless to say he doesn't have too many games ;)

I love my Gameboy SP ::yes:: ! I got the ice blue color, it's so cool looking. Plus the graphics are much better than I thought they would be since I never really played the demo model in the shops before. I've wanted one for ages too but never could spend that kind of money on myself since we've got a playstation and PC for games. There are times though when I only want to play for a few minutes, and it's great fun. Don't worry, I think you'l really enjoy it! I live in Sweden, home of all things expensive, and bought mine just before our trip to the World for the plane ride. Then we made a special trip to Walmart (on the bus which was interesting at most) for cheap games. We have Mario vs Donkey Kong, Yoshi's Island and Final Fantasy, all really good. I want Sims busting out though, can't seem to find it anywhere :confused3 .

How can you not be able to buy a sale item on the day of the sale when it's in your cart? Ahh, forget that one I just figured it out :p ! Don't worry too much about your Christmas budget, the pain of what we overspend usually is gone by February !

The code to get the bundle free online is RTLGBANETWRK. Put the code in after you put everything into your cart seperately (the Gameboy Advance SP in your choice of color and the Cartoon Network bundle) and it will deduct $39.99 from the total. I did it last night and it worked.

I'm pretty sure that TRU won't be price matching for Black Friday. I think I read it on one of the boards.

We have found Game Boy games on clearance at Target for $9.99. We also get a lot of games from Game Stop - they have new and used games. If you have a game you don't like or are tired of, you can trade them at Game Stop. Toys R Us will sometimes have selected games "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" or other deals.

We also have a Game Cube with an adapter so we can play our Game Boy games on the Cube. Good for me since I don't like that tiny little screen! Have fun!

You'll love your Game Boy Advance! I'm a 40 something year old mom and love mine. It's nice to have to occupy times when you otherwise would have nothing to do (waiting in the car, at appointments, etc.)
Our TRU had a large sign stating they would not price match sale items today.
If you have a Sam's club nearby, they often discount games. I picked up some of the older games for around $10. Have fun playing!

used games can be pretty cheap on half.com
you can find good stuff for gba for $10-$15.

FYI - Toys R Us had a huge signed posted saying that they will not price match Friday or Saturday.

I got the Gameboy Sp and the free bundle myself. I also got a couple of the 9.99 games to go along with it. Frogger, Pac Man, and Namco Museum, basically older games but worth 9.99 each. When I was in TRU they didnt have much selection left for the GB Video shows, so I wasnt able to get any of those. I ended up stopping into BJs Wholesale Club today and they have a bunch of the GB Videos for 12.99 each. I got three of them. One is to go with the gameboy as a christmas gift, and the other two I am putting away until our trip to Disney. Anyway for anyone who was looking for the buy two videos, get one free at TRU but missed out, if you have a BJS membership check it out. It ends up being the same amount of money if you buy three of them at BJs. Just FYI.
