It's getting so thick, it's going to be beautiful! I love your picture progression and I can't wait to see how it continues to grow.. I know I liked my hair short because it was easier to care for, but I also loved it longer because I liked the way it made me look. Hopefully you will love it at every stage you go through.

I hope you and your mom are doing okay, and please tell her I said hello and imagine a hug from me to both of you. The girls also say hello..

Hi Glenda LOVE your hair...we missed not seeing you last Saturday at the Baltimore meet....hopefully you will be able to make it next month (if not sometime in February).

I'll have to try to check the thread more often. I live about 20mins away from the meet you had last week, AND I was free!

I can't wait to see how the color adds to your look. I think it will be very cool. I can't believe how quickly your hair is growing, you'll have long locs in no time.

I REALLY hope I don't mess up my hair with the color. I've NEVER done it before. One of my friends told me to rinse out the color in the utility sink in the basement so the color doesnt stain my white sink in the kitchen. OH, and I need to get gloves too. This is turning into more than I expected!

Okay, honestly...I'm jealous!

I think Kathy's family and mike and I are going to Disney together but all the pieces are not in place yet so we will see what are dates are.

I really do like it! Does your mama like it any better these days? You know, you are going to be so glad that you have this photo diary to look back on.

Hey everybody! I did put the rinse in my hair this weekend, but it's so subtle that it does NOT show in the pics. But since I took them, I'll do this update anyway.


Here's my little introduction video clip (click on it to start) . . .

After recording this, I read the directions on the bottle for the 100th time, then shampooed my hair. I used Lilac baby shampoo. It's gentle, smells great, and since it's for babies - it's designed to rinse out completely. I did not want any residue left in my hair before using the rinse. And here it is . . .

Using some gloves, I put it in my hair, put on a plastic cap, and let it sit for 25 mins. One of my girlfriends told me to do the rinse in th basement at the utility sink, to avoid staining anything upstairs. Here's a video clip -

Rinsing out the color was really weird! If someone esle was there, I would've had them record it. As it was going down the drain, it looked like my head was bleeding, since the color was a reddish brown! I must admit that I was a bit worried, wondering if my hair would be the same color as blood! But as you all well know, it wasnt.

Now since the color had conditioner in it, it really softened my hair. So some of my locs at the top of my head came out. That made it a bit difficult to retwist them. I guess I still have some months to go before all of them are fully locd.

One of my girlfriends took me out for Valentine's Day, so here are the pics I took that day. As I said before, you can't see the color in the pics, but she did. When I asked her if she could tell I put a rinse in, she said "Yeah, it's reddish-brown right"? So at least it does show up a little.

So as you can see, you CAN'T see it in the photos. I like that it adds a little hint of color though. The next time I do it, I'll use a bolder color, so it'll show up a bit better. I think for those of you with lighter hair, it'll show up even better.

Well thanks for reading this update. Sorry it wanst exciting, but at least I get to check something else off on list of things I've done to my hair!

Hey! Thanks for posting! As I said above, my Mother is getting used to it, but she still really doesnt like the style. I think the fact that she realizes that I do have to wash it and take care it, helps her to better deal with me not combing my hair!

Good Morning DISers! I've been given more advice about adding color to my hair. So some time this week, I'll try again. Hopefully I'll have better results!

Hope everyone has a great weekend, even if you have to work! If you need something fun to do, go see "Madea Goes to Jail". I saw it yesterday (Friday) at 10:30 AM, and it was SOLD OUT! It was really funny!

Three coworkers and I tried to see it yesterday. By the time we got to the theater, each showing between 4:00 and 10:00 was sold out.

I'm going to try again today. This time I'll purchase the tickets on line. I should have better luck that way.
