I just got a call from my sister, and she told me that our kid brother's 2-year-old son died in his sleep. He had a slight fever, kids have that all the time, but he wasn't actually sick. He went to bed last night, and never woke up. My sister says that our brother is pretty out of it, so I'm going to wait a bit before I call him. They are very religious, so the funeral will likely be today or tomorrow morning at the latest, so the chances of me making it to the funeral are slim.

It's just so sad, and not the way the world is supposed to work. A parent should never have to bury their child...
