Grrr I could have our trip booked today - to go in August, but the money is tied up in an investment for another month!!! And dh will not get the credit card the bank has offered several times with a big enough balance to book this trip... even though it would be paid off in 30 days and then destroyed.

Oh, how bad's the heat in August? The past few summers we've had temps 90-100 before you factor in humidity. We've had people from San Jose tell us it was cooler in California. So I'm wondering how bad it gets in Southern California..?

i was talking to someone at disneyland just last night about the weather and she indicated that it was in the 90's...can't wait to escape the gray skies of PA in a couple of days and enjoy the weather of southern CA...

So is mid-August really awful? It's not something I've ever paid much attention to.

The only time i've ever spent much time there in mid-august was when they were having soap stars there at DCA on each Friday. On one of them, they started giving out bottles of water and when they start giving out free water to people, you know it's hot.

Yep, yesterday was in the 90's (I spent it ice skating, the only sane thing to do on a hot day), but it's supposed to drop back down into the upper 60's this week.

We've gone the last 5 years either the 1st or 2nd week of August, and we have seen the high temperatures range from the high 70's to just over 100 other days, depending on the year we visited.

Last year was the hottest it has ever been for us. On our 5 day trip, the lowest high temperature was 94 degrees, the hottest day was over 100 degrees. We spent most afternoons at the pools (GCH). :sunny:

Congrats SKFamily!
July is much better than August as far as temperatures go (at least in my opinion!). Have a wonderful vacation and utilize fastpass to fight the crowds.

Yes, July in OC can be quite pleasant temp-wise. Not so hot you feel like you'll pass out, but warm enough to go on the water rides.
