I can't wait until school!

I'm just saying that I don't need friends. What are friends going to do for me? I need to get 90% for my average or higher.

What are books going to do for you? Hardly nothing! My gosh, sure you'll get you a good score, make you look smart. They will "help" get you into a good college. But heck, they won't do anything productive to you.

Friends, they give you a social life, a life outside books. They will help you stay social and caring and compasionate. To think all you need is a number, is insane...and it's what this world is forcing into the minds of students.

In a job, they won't ask you to solve equations, or write a 500 word essay on a book you read. Knowing how to do that helps, but what a job really requires is your ability to interact with the people. How well you can get yourself involved with customers, students, and other employees.

A boss won't hire someone based soley on their score. They will also look at what activities you were involved with and services you were involved with. You need friends to do those successfully.

A score? All that is is a number proving you did your homework. What's more and longer lasting is your social ability. A boss will hire the guy who works better with employees than the guy who won't speak a word while his nose is held tight in a book.

I actually like school too, don't feel badly. I'm a big nerd. I love seeing people who I haven't seen. The classes don't bother me either; it's the minimum 5 hours of homework per night, without any exageration. That and waking up to catch the 6:20 bus! Besides that, it's all good...and that I don't get to go on the Dis every day .

To clear up another point...Miley Cyrus: It's very possible to have both good grades and friends! I have never failed a test in my life, my lowest average ever was a 93 (which was gym...yes, it always brings my grade down...shut up all those snickering! Kidding, I can't help but laugh at it myself!) AND I have unbelievable friends! I 100% agree with the previous poster that you need interaction in order to actually get anywhere. Besides, friends aren't meant to be pains to you, we call those people enemies. They help you get through things and vise versa. Helping friends out is an unbelievable thing! An example: My friend's parents are on the rocks. I am the only person besides imediate family who knows about this. Realistically speaking, there is nothing I can do besides letting him know that I am always there for the listening. He know he can trust me with this secret and help him through it because I have been through it too. Even if you go a day with out fabulous grades in school or a dull, slow day, you still go to bed that night feeling great because you helped a friend even in a small way. So now before I get WAY off topic, you need them, you really do, whether you know it now or not. When college rolls around and no social activity is seen (clubs, sports, volenteer work, etc), you will become second class to an 80s average student who does do these things, and that is a promise.

I'm excited for school to start, i've already been seeing all of my friends though because of band camp. But I got my schedule today and now i'm really nervous cause i don't have too many classes with my friends and i don't know anyone in my lunch. I hope i don't have to eat alone, that'd be really embaressing.

Senior year, baby! I'm kind of excited for the first day.. I think it's more that I'm antsy to start, but as Loves Disney said, I'm excited for the last day of this school year!

I made my schedule so I'll like it this year.. I'm taking easy classes in what I'm bad at, and have all the teachers I want(I'm taking AP English because I like reading, and also because the teacher is amazing.) I'm taking my 2 electives(AP Music and Art) right in a row and I purposely scheduled my gym last period so when I don't have it I can leave early!(Senior privilege!)


What I've gotten from college interviewers so far is that they're interested in your personal life as well as my academic life.. some asked about my out of school activities, my hobbies, my friends, etc.. You don't need to hang out with friends every second, but during school hours and some weekend hang outs keep me sane.

I started school August 14th. I got homework the very first day from all my classes. I get homework from math every single day!
