I Cant Stand It !!!!!!!!

You are in the best of company here! I have 10 days to go, have piles and piles of clothes and essentials ready to go -- can't pack the suitcases until the hound goes to her kennel next Friday or else she has a massive panic attack. I read these (and other) sites multiple times a day and allow my emotions to swing high and low (the parks are crowded. the parks are manageable. the parks are crowded, etc. etc). I also hold debates with myself on "should I or shouldn't I buy a Pal Mickey?" My DH just laughs and laughs at his nutty (but harmless) DW.

After weeks of fretting, I finally decided to stick with my original PS and will try winging it once we get there if the original dates and times don't work well.

I have a list of "must do's" and "must do-again's" which keeps changing.

I haven't even begun my August trip when I started planning a long Columbus Day Weekend, assuming the $98 RT fares from Providence or Manchester are extended to October (missed out on them for the August trip). Big assumption, I know.

My son is autistic and I'm never quite sure what he's thinking, but last night he pulled out our park maps and told me quite articulately which attractions he wanted to see. Nothing we have ever exposed him to has made more of a difference in his social development than WDW! Too bad my health insurance does not consider WDW to be occupational therapy for him.

I am finding it hard to concentrate at work and at home and am uncharacteristically energetic at 11:00 p.m. after a long day at the office. I do think its the excitement of the upcoming trip.

Disney (and chocolate) are my only two vices and I won't allow anyone to make me feel bad about them! The WDW vice, especially, helps me deal with the considerable stress in my life.

I am a 50 year old married woman, No children at all, and my DH does not like to travel much any more. So now I have had 4 WDW trips *WITH* DH, and 4 WDW trips solo. This Dec. will be another solo trip for me. I hope to go to WDW at lease once per year, for the rest of my life ! I have no intention of vacationing anywhere else. I know that is obsessive, and I love it ! So There !

Count us in, too! As DH's 50th birthday got to be 6 months away, I started hinting around about a party to find out his response. He finally just said quite honestly that he'd rather turn 50 at WDW with me than do anything else! OK, that's just fine with me!

So, it's double digits for us, just over 2 months to go. And, we have spent birthdays there before, and it really does add to the magic!

You sound perfectly normal to us !!! We do the same thing now, and we are not leaving until 11/27 !!!

There is NOTHING like a WDW trip !!!!

Enjoy !!!

Andrew & Mei

:p

SO FUNNY!!
Obviously I'm like all of you. I leave next week (24th) and I'm already packing my carry-on bag because I can't leave soon enough. I want to be entirely packed by Sun evening...gives me 3 days to remember "this" and "that".

I am sooooo with you here!!! My dh says that when we get back he can probably get rid of the computer since I'll be done planning and won't be on-line all the time. Hah!!!! Little does he know that I'll be planning the next visit as I sit on the runway at MCO!! Silly man. I simple can not wait for Friday morning to get here. We also are leaving a day before the counter indicates. See you all there!!! And by the way....I have about 13 guide books from over the years and I still read every one over and over and over ad nauseum (according to, yep, you guessed it, dh!!)

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!

I am so glad I am not crazy, I need to be reassured sometimes that my "affection"( shall we call it?} for WDW isnt too outa control.

Mem- I hope you have a great time with your son!!!

Claudia, As a newly turned 50 year old woman myself, I know that I will just continue to go back to WDW as long as I Live!!

My DS is only 9,(had him kinda late in life I guess) and he has been to WDW 4 times already, this will be his fifth, still not excited as mom though!

When I try to explain to friends and family why WDW I find it really hard to explain the feeling you get when you first walk up and see the Castle!!!

I hope you all enjoy your trips!!! and thanks for the reassurance!

How about this:

I "reward" myself with going on this board after doing the more mundane tasks in life- working, cleaning, sleeping.

I teach adults and usually work WDW into my lesson or conversation. It's identified like 2 like minded Disneynuts so we can call each other up and talk WDW. One just returned last month and I savored each and every detail.

I'm only going on my 3rd trip, but I'll be planning the 4th soon thereafter.

Savor and enjoy your anticipation as it is a big part of the whole experience. It sure lasts a lot longer than the trip itself does and can really be a big part of the fun. We don't go until November and my niece today said that very few people understand how excited we get about going EVERY SINGLE YEAR! How sad for them -- how lucky for us. We are already talking about next year's trip just to ease the pain of this one going by so quickly.

Move Ovah! (my best boston accent :) )

What I don't get are the people who only check the boards once or twice a day, what's that all about? ;)

Well, we are here to support you, so bring it on! I LOVE watching my clock go down too!

Hi Jakesmom1 and the rest of the crowd. Count me in with an incurable case of Mickeymania. I had my 50th birthday at WDW in January and I wouldn't've wanted to be anywhere else, except maybe Tokyo Disney, where we've never been. (For some completely nutty reason we didn't go to Disney when we were in Japan in 1995. I still don't know why not.) It's me and dh--we have no kids, except ourselves, of course! :D

We were at WDW for our wedding and honeymoon 4 years ago. My dh had never been and wasn't sure he was going to like it. Hah! Guess who buys all the Disney dvds now?

After we got home in January I didn't read the boards for a while, but then I noticed I was doing practically nothing else on the computer EXCEPT reading this board (my favorite) and other WDW sites. Of course, this could only lead to one thing: planning our next trip to WDW, which is in 114 days. Only a little more than 9,000,000 seconds to go!

We're staying at the Swan this time (in December) and it'll be such a treat to be able to walk to Epcot and MGM and the Boardwalk, I'm nearly jumping up and down just typing this! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

To sum up: I think it's a very nice asylum here with great inmates!

This is my second post on this thread and it is my LAST post until we get back. We leave for the airport in 2 hours. (our clock says Friday, but we are leaving TODAY.)

The big day is FINALLY here !!!!!!

See, we are not the ones who are NUTS. Its everyone else who thinks WE are nuts.....THEY are the crazy ones.

We will be wearing the lime green ribbons in the POR-River Roost...singing and dancing to Bob Jackson. It would be great to meet some of us "nutty Diser's"

Everyone have a GREAT trip.

BYEEEEEEEEEEEE:bounce:

Here's yet another obsessed Disney fan!! DH and I are heading down next month for our last trip before our Annual Passes expire. This will be our third trip in less than year. I was hoping to fit one more in before Dec. 3 when our passes expire, but it just isn't going to work out. :( :(
I agreed with DH that we would take a year off to go somewhere else (he wants to go to Las Vegas). But I told him that if Disney offers the FTP next year we're going!! And he definitely knows where I want to be for MY 50th in 2005: the ONLY place to be...WALT DISNEY WORLD!!!

Jakesmom1, you've started a super thread! It's great to see that so many people are just like me! And isn't it a great state of mind to be in?

Since there are so many of us likeminded Disney fanatics does this mean WE are the normal ones???I am posting so I can see my countdown go down....it started at over 500 days. I am sooo happy for all of you going in the next few months!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: My time is coming though, and will be worth every moment of the wait....7 nights at Grand Floridian lagoon view and then over to the Boardwalk Inn....all with my best friend (both of us 50 something years young!!). My DH is just not the WDW fanatic that I am but very supportive and empathic. After all the trips we and I have made in the last 10 years he finally caved and said call Disney and buy some points!!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Now this is huge because he sells timeshare and has always felt that owning DVC, because it is a different program than his, would interfere with his sales presentation. Now he will just include it!! Sorry for the rambling............

Count me in as one of the obsessed! We're not even going until December and I'm already checking these boards two times a day to get ideas! My husband thinks there's something seriously wrong with me and has absolutely forbidden me to say the "D" word for at least two months! Well, it's better than doing drugs or being promiscuous (although some would differ in opinion!), but it's nice to know that I'm not alone.

Just like the commercial says. I am getting soooo excited!! We just booked flights yesterday, we were orginally going to drive--yuck!! We havent been since 1990 and only went to one park and this is ds(3) first trip. So I cant stand it. I dont know who is more excited.

Sorry, Had to post again so I could see my clock go down!!!!!!

Oh my god, even my friends at work now when they see me in the morning, tell ME how many days till I leave - lol.
