Hey, I were socks with my flip-flops (thongs what ever you call them) but only around the house - Never in public. My flip-flops are easy to put on and kick off and the socks keep my feet warm. My DW laughs at me but says I look like a Ninja.

Oh well, to each his own.

My DH refuses to wear sandals, but wears the stretched out tube socks with sneakers and shorts in the summer......Yikes!! No matter how many times I ask him to at least wear shorter socks...."these are still good socks".........what do I expect from someone who has stuff in his closet that he refuses to get rid of, but hasn't worn in 20 (yes....20) years!!

You have given me the courage to come out and admit that my DH also wears socks with sandals. We have secretly been living with this family shame for years now. He just goes out in public with no regard for our feelings. What a site!! Its not a pretty one. I was thinking of starting a support group - WOMWWSWS - wives of men who wear socks with sandals- wanna join??

Hey - I've done it myself! I had a broken toe one winter and couldn't put on a regular shoe. I had to wear sandals with socks!

..but my husband takes it a step further. First, the man only takes off his socks to change them. We've been married for 2 1/2 years, and I can count the number of times I've seen his bare feet on one hand. Also, he uses a wheelchair, and thinks this means the "no shirt, no shoes, no service" rules don't apply to him. He goes out constantly in just his sock feet. He wears shoes for important things, but doesn't if he's just running to the store.. I say he's 43 years old, he should be wearing shoes! Even worse, if it is cold, he will wear his big slippers with football players on them! Ack!

Confession time...my husband is a nerd as well. He'd wear the long white tube socks with his sandals if I let him. Just can't handle that...he MUST wear the ankle socks if he plans to wear socks with sandals.

it certainly would be in my neck of the woods.......but even we laugh if the socks go past the ankels
