I can't get on the resorts board

Is the resort board down? I couldn't get on it last night or today.

I just wanted to post I got Riverside at the FL Red rate of 83 for next weekend June 28th. They didn't search to find a room either so it must not be as busy as they say.

I was going crazy without my Dis fix!

Looks like some tech problems going on. It's happened before but that's technology, sometimes it does go down. Looks like the resorts' board still may have some glitches going on.

It's kinda funny in a way. There was one time the boards were down for 3 days!! Talk about withdrawls!! What did we do before the DIS!!!!

Today it just the Resorts board that is not working for me.

I still can't access the boards with the www.disboards.com addy, the way I got here was through the IP address.

I hope it gets fixed soon. I had a rough day yesterday with out seeing my countdown clock!!!

There are some technical issues. Just so you know, there are some of us that cannot access ANY of the site through normal means. I am a computer person who runs a couple of websites, so I know a couple of tricks & that's how I ended up here. When I try to access any of the forum from the main page, or by going directly to the forum, I get the "cannot find server".

I was able to find a post from Alex (the webmaster), but it looks like it was only posted in the community forum, so many of you may not know what is going on yet.

Here's the abbridged version (I am writing in VERY simple language.... so excuse me if I'm talking down to any of you tekkies out there... I'm trying to let everyone understand). The company that handles the web address for the websited decided to change the server (basically the hard drive) where the information is stored. When you do something like this, it changes the web address where people must go to look for this information. There are several main routing computers around the world that direct you to the website using the web address (it is a series of numbers - as opposed to the name of the website). Getting all of these different computers to know where the website is now located takes several days.

I'm much better at analagies... so here goes. Let's say that post offices aren't connected by computers - and every address change is done by sending a letter to each post office to tell them your new address (work with me.... I'm trying to write in laymans terms here). So, you move, and notify your local post office of your new address. Well, anyone that sends stuff directly through your post office will still get mail to you - without any problems. But imagine that if it comes through a different post office (and one that hasn't been notified of your address change yet), it will be returned as "no longer at address". This is basically what is happening. Slowly... the various "post offices" are being notified of the new web address. That is why some of you can now access different parts of the forum - while others cannot access any of it.

It usually takes about 48 hours to notify all of the various routing machines out there, so over the next day and a half, some of you may be able to access more & more of the site.

Until I found a link to the IP addy on RADP, I honestly thought *I* broke something.

I'm glad things are going in the fixed direction and hopefully things will be up and running by the time I get back from OKW so I can post a trip report!

I've been in DIS-BOARD withdrawl!!! I tried my laptop, my desktop, everyway I could think of! Can now get to main page but then still goes to no server page. I was able to get here through search function. I need my board fix!!

I accused my husband of doing something to the computer to lock me out of the boards! I thought that my obsession had finally pushed him over the edge!
