(And heaven knows I try!) So let's try to escape the politics here!

For those of you who commute to work what is the funniest/weirdest thing/person you've seen?

I was on the train going to work and actually saw a woman wearing her underwear outside of her clothes. I have plenty more where that came from.

We're taking back the Community Board people!!! :cheer2: :wizard: :dance3:

My sister called me on her way home earlier to tell me she'd just seen a person changing their underwear on the street...while wearing shorts. :scared:

I don't think the things I have seen are DIS board friendly :rolleyes1

I'm kind of glad I live in relative po-dunk :lmao:

Lets see.......what have I seen on the way to work........well one day long ago, I saw my DS hanging out the window of the school bus.....does that count?

I never saw this, but my boss used to read the newspaper and eat his healthy lunch that his wife prepared while he was driving home. His actual lunch had consisted of something bad for his diet, I'm sure.

I have heard of people crocheting, and putting on pantyhose.

The worst thing I saw was someone text messaging while driving. I noticed them after they came over into my lane on the expressway.

When commuting on the highway, I saw a guy reading a book while driving! :scared1:

Ok...I agree with this request 100%!

To share some good news my Aunt had breast surgery today for cancer and the good news is the cancer didn't go into her lymph nodes so we are so pleased and blessed!!!!

I was at a red light and looking in my rear-view mirror. The man behind me started picking his nose. :scared: The then proceeded to put that same finger in his mouth. :faint:  Hellllooooo, you are a middle aged man, not a 2 year old. :sad2: I wanted to walk back there and smack his hand.

You asked. ;)

I've seen people who texted while driving...they end up in our ER :rolleyes1

Seriously, it's a growing problem. Why would anyone think it would be okay to text and drive?

The worst things I've seen personally are just people jaywalking. Some days I wonder if I have a big sign on the front of my car that says: Go for it! My brakes are good and I'm paying attention!

I need to get that sign off! :rotfl2:

That is good news! :goodvibes I'm glad for your Aunt. She's fortunate.

I saw a segment of the news this morning about the recent train collision. There is talk (unsubstantiated) that the engineer was texting before the crash! The authorities are looking into the claim. They have recovered his cell phone. I hope that was not the case. It was strange though.

Way back when.....driving on the thruway to Syracuse University ......
a guy passed us driving a VW Beetle - WHILE HE WAS PLAYING THE SAXAPHONE!!

I will forever have that image etched in my mind.

This happened to me a few years ago......

When I got home from work, I stood in the driveway for a while talking to my son, who was working on his truck. The next morning, I could not find my keys anywhere, so I grabbed my spare key and left the house. About ten minutes later, while I was sitting in stop-and-go traffic, I spotted my keys on the hood of my truck. I nonchalantly (but quickly) put the truck in park and retrieved my keys. Thank goodness I live in a safe neighborhood ..... what a doofus moment.

A few months back I was in my car behind a woman who was driving and spoon feeding her rear-facing infant by reaching behind her ino the back seat of her car at the same time. I could see the babyfood jar, the spoon, the super young baby... and her nearly going off the road! What an idiot. Poor baby!

Ive seen people
shaving
eating soup
cutting up steak
using chopsticks to eat noddles
plucking eyebrows
reading

Lets not forget the mascara appliers out on our highways:eek:

The grossest thing I saw was a guy picking his dirty feet on the train. I was so grossed out I had to move to the vestibule area until my stop.

I've seen reading, putting on makeup, texting, picking noses, smacking children in the back seat, etc etc.

Okay - not something I've seen but a confession - as a teenager I was guilty of changing clothes - I'm talking complete change, while driving 65+ mph on the interstate, putting on make up while driving, using a curling iron while driving. I feel better now.:)

cell phones are a huge issue on the trains. I saw a woman who was having a very loud, very personal cell phone discussion with her ex-boyfriend/father of her child. everyone around her was annoyed. one guy decided to do something about it. he sat down next to the woman and started commenting on what she was saying, as if he were part of the conversation. then she got annoyed at him, yelled at him -- but conitnued with her cphone conversation.
