Me and her were walking in our backyard watching the puppy.

Sis-"We need to find a name for the puppy."

And I do remind you that its my puppy.

Me-"I found a name I like."

Sis-"What is it?"

Me-"Aurora."

Sis-"Well I don't like that name so i'm just gona keep calling it puppy."

I mean its my puppy so I should be able to name it whatever I want too.
Do yall think I should still name it Aurora or just change it cause shes gonna maybe call it puppy?

If it's your puppy you should be able to name it I suppose, but maybe you could pick a name that everyone in your family agrees with.

Whenever we get a new pet it always goes through like 1,000 names before we wind up with one we like.

One of our cats went from Punky (which was his name when we adopted him) to Rudy to Peanut to Monty to Thumper to Hansel before we finally decided on TIGGER.

you've just gotta give it time to find a perfect name that fits the dog's personality. If Aurora suits the dog, stick with Aurora.
I'm sure your sister will come around.

And if she winds up just called it puppy, so be it.

Our old dog was called Finnegan and we always called him different things
(like Fin, Finni, Puppy, Boodle, Blin, Minni etc)

Well my mom is fine with the name and my dad doesn't like animals so we don't tell him all that stuff but I mean my sisters always mean and so I usually pay no attention to what she says.
I think Aurora suits the puppy so i'm gonna name her that.

I think Aurora would be a good name for your puppy, too. Just ignore what your sister says. When she gets her own dog she can name it whatever she wants.

I agree with DramaQueen if it'd your puppy then you name it what you like.

If your sis keeps calling her puppy then let her. Im sure the dog will get used to having 'pet' names (or nicknames) aswell as a normal name.

Call the dog what you like.

I <33333333333 beagles. We used to have one called Jamie. I think Jasmine is a good name for her personally but ignore me.

We have a jack russell puppy. We had to find something inbetween our beagle and our sheltie. We wanted somehing playful but not too boisterous or demanding(my sister is a huge wimp with dogs)
How old is she?

To train a dog to respond to it's name it needs one fixed name really and then nicknames can be introduced after that. If one person calls it puppy and the other aurora it might not learn it's name as quickly. Or that's what we found with all 3 of our dogs.
