I Can See Epcot From Here! ~ A November Trip and Dining Report ~

:rotfl: I know-- Usually I'd be like $10?!!!! I could buy a dress on clearance for that!:laughing::laughing: What in the world do they put in the water there that makes it all right in your brain???:rotfl2: I'll never know but I think I'll spend a lifetime trying to figure it out.:rolleyes1

Your boys- one's gonna be a stand up comedian, the other a life long Bachelor.:rotfl2:

OMG-- I can't believe you guys were talking about us yesterday--- so funny both the men are talking about each other like they know one another already!!!:upsidedow
Um, that could be a bad thing.
:rotfl2:

And yes--- your next TR will have all of us in it.
IF, that is, airfare doesn't get the best of us.

:headache:

I know -- $10 for a funnel cake? $100 for a meal? $20 for a kid's t-shirt? :scared1:

Those are things I would NEVER do at home!! But if it's at WDW it okay. . . :confused3

Yep, we better get out to Hollywood. DS11 could be an actor, comedian, singer, dancer, whatever!! And DS9, well we just may see him on The Bachelor someday. :lmao:

Well maybe this meet is going to be even better than we already have planned!! :cool1: Yes, if the dang airfare/flights don't mess things up. :headache:

Good morning TR friends! :goodvibes

I'm headed off to work soon. We are under a 2 hour delay, I guess for extremely cold temps because we didn't get any snow. :confused3 I haven't been out yet but I guess the wind chills are well below zero. Yipee

I found this picture on the boys camera. I asked them what they were doing and they said that was their - “we're going home tomorrow” picture. We must have been out on the balcony when they did this!

So cute, but so sad too!

Day 9 – Sunday November 14

Well here it was, our final morning. :sad2: We couldn't believe it.

We were up fairly early. I can't remember exactly what time our Magical Express pick up was for. I can't seem to find my Envelope of Doom anywhere. :confused3 Maybe it made me mad and I threw it in the trash. I don't know. Anyway – I believe our ME pick up time was something like 8:30am. Our flight home was 11:10am.

So we got up and started getting ready and getting all the last minute things all packed up. DH was ready first and headed down to the BW to get cinnamon rolls and a coffee at the BW Bakery. I opened our balcony door as the kids and I were getting ready. I thought I heard something familiar and stopped and looked out the door and DS9 said – do you hear that? I said yes, what is it? He said – it's those birds in front of Nemo! And it was!! We could hear them saying – Mine. Mine. Mine. I couldn't believe we could hear something clear from the other side of the Epcot! The air must have been really still that morning. Either that or it was blowing our way!

I went out on the balcony and took a few more pictures before it was time to go.

We took one last family picture on the balcony.

Pretty soon there was a knock on the door and it was Bell Services there to help with our luggage. They loaded it all up on the cart and we all slowly walked out to the ME bus stop. The bus arrived right on time. The driver told us that this was his only stop. That was nice, usually there are 2-4 stops on the ME bus. The bus was only about half full and he told us it was supposed to be full. He said we will give the rest of the people a little more time and then we will go. We waited about 10 more minutes and no one else showed up, so we were on our way. Our driver was awesome. He talked the whole way to the airport and passed around his photo album of Disney pics and Florida wildlife pics. We really enjoyed him. He made that miserable ride back to the airport a little more tolerable!

The flight home was pretty uneventful and we were back to a rainy & chilly Pittsburgh in no time.

Is this the saddest face you have ever seen or what?

We were home quickly and everyone started to unpack and sort the laundry. I used to do this all by myself, but have really got the boys involved in it the last few trips! After the luggage was put away and the first load of laundry was started I got the souvenirs all organized.

Well I hope you have all enjoyed taking this little journey with my family and I. I have really enjoyed sharing with all of you. I will be back to share a little vacation video I put together and my final thoughts.

Aw, I'm so sad it's over! You did such a great job with this trip report, as always! That picture the boys took made me so sad, my girls know that feeling...there are always tears the last day for them! But then we always start to get excited about the next trip!
Thank you so much for sharing your journey with all of us!

Oh I really hate to see your TR come to a close, the pics of DS's did look so sad. I enjoyed it so much. I do not like having to get up and leave early on the last day. I am hopeing the late flight out is not too awful expensive when the air fares finally come out. Our last trip we had to rush to get ME ended up eating at McD's at the airport:scared1: This time I want to have a nice breakfast after checking into RAC before we get picked up.

I was playing around with some fares yesterday on JB Sun-Sun and your week actually had some decent fares , I checked SW but their flights are only up to Sept 30th so could only price one way.

We have a credit which I am hopeing will pay for our tix. This was funny on Sunday I was talking flight fares to DH and sneeked in that maybe we should extend the trip by a day since it would be cheaper to fly back on a Monday.......he forgot we had the credits to use up.

I was not prepared for that the first thing this morning! You need to give a girl a a little warning! Like "CAUTION: SAD PICTURES AHEAD!" All kidding aside.........I really am sad that your trip has ended here and your TR is wrapping up. But at least you know that in less than a year, you will be back! :yay: That has to ease the pain a little! ;)

That was a really good family picture on the balcony. (You can't even tell that the smiles were forced!) Aren't you glad you made the leap to a deluxe with a balcony this time? I can't believe that you started out without one. Y'all definitley enjoyed having that perk! Will all the Poly rooms have a balcony? I know you will be making sure of that before you go. No surprises this time! ;)

That pic of your DS9 on the plane is precious. There are no words needed to describe how he was feeling. :sad1: And it seems like any time we come home from vacation, we come home to rain. So typical. :sad2:

Y'all sure came home with a pile of goodies! How sweet of your babies to buy you some little gifts with their own money! They obviously love and appreciate their Mom and Dad! But please tell me......did your DH buy any souvenirs for himself?

I'm looking forward to your final thoughts and the video. I can almost picture it in my mind. ;) And then.....you can start your PTR!!! There's no law that you can't start a PTR for a trip over 6 months away!

Aw, I'm sad it's over too! :sad2:
What a great report, as always...thank you for taking the time to share your trip with us! :goodvibes

I heard Rick Springfield ("Don't Talk to Strangers") on the radio today and it made me think of you! :)

Well I came on here this morning to try to feel some Disney love since we have OVER TWO FEET OF SNOW THAT FELL just this morning and it's still not done--- I'm so not kidding---
and all I find are sad faces and leaving day!!!

Poor little babes-- they are so sweet. So sad to leave- what precious pictures of them.
And oh gosh-- that pic of PGH--- it's so grey, after seeing all of your pics of blue skies.:sad2:

You got some wonderful souvienirs --- so much stuff to look back on with fondness.

Thanks so much for doing this TR- you've definitely helped with our winter blues! I'm sorry it's over. :(

And yes-- you know you want to start your PTR now. 6 months is nothing. I hear that 8 months out is the cut off though......:rolleyes1

You BAD!!!! :lmao:

Y'all got 2 feet of snow???? :faint: Must be the global warming causing snow to fall in the south this year.....:rolleyes1 That must be near a record - so crazy!

Can you believe Shelly just dropped this on all of us and split? :car: How rude!!! (any Full House devotees out there?)

:sad1:
That's it? You're home. Boo hoo! It really was a fun report and you had awesome pictures.
I would like to hear your final thoughts - especially on the BWI and on not using the DDP. We go back and forth on the DDP, especially now that Sarah will be 10.

Oh man, those are some super sad little boys :( Poor things. I have loved reading your report! You make it fun and update so often. It's been great following along on your trip.

So, what are your definite future WDW plans Shelly?

What a fantastic and wonderful trip and photo report of your WDW vacation Shelly! I always like the little details you point out that others would might overlook or miss, as well as your running totals of how much you spent and ratings.

It is sad to see this report end, but I am glad that you are booked for August and I hope that we can meet up with your family at that time as well.

So in the spirit of Shelly I give this trip report:

:cool1: 5 out 5 - An Absolutely Priceless Family Experience! :cool1:

I'm hoping for a middle of the day flight home next time. Actually at the moment I am just hoping for some decent airfare! :rotfl:

We don't mind the late morning flights home. Once we took an evening flight home and it was a pain to store our luggage during the day, be worried about getting back to the resort on time for ME, and driving home from the airport late at night. But a mid afternoon flight would be just right!

I hope you find your airfare soon! Mine is at $114 each way. :sad2: That's quite a bit more than we are used to paying, so I am waiting them out. . .

I was not prepared for that the first thing this morning! You need to give a girl a a little warning! Like "CAUTION: SAD PICTURES AHEAD!" Sorry about the sad pictures!! :guilty:

Well I'm glad you can't tell my smile is forced on the balcony. Looking at that pic I can tell mine and DS9's are totally faked! DH & DS11 did pretty well!

There are not balcony's in every room at the Poly. That was one of the reasons I went with the BW over it. And then we ended up with one of the only rooms at the BWI to not have one. :upsidedow Well, not for long!:rotfl:

DH did not get too many souvenirs this time. He was looking for a new shirt but couldn't find one he wanted. :confused3 I had bought gift cards for food & souvenirs and we came home with $44 left. So I figured it pretty closely. I told DH that if he had found a shirt I would have been nearly right on with the money!

I hope you will enjoy the video! ;) And you know I have plenty of final thoughts coming!

No, I don't think I will be starting a TR over 6 months out! :lmao:

Aw, I'm sad it's over too! :sad2:

I heard Rick Springfield ("Don't Talk to Strangers") on the radio today and it made me think of you! :)

Thanks Kathy! I'm glad you enjoyed it and stuck it out the whole way through. :goodvibes

I don't think we will ever hear Rick Springfield on the radio again without thinking of that awesome night! :cool1:

Oh no, a ton of snow and an ending TR. :sad2: What a terrible day!!

I seriously can not believe the snow you guys keep getting. :scared1: I am certain you got more than us this winter. That is crazy!

I'm glad you enjoyed the TR. Thanks for always reading along!

6 months, 8 months, heck maybe I should have just started it as soon as we got back. :lmao:

Can you believe Shelly just dropped this on all of us and split? :car: How rude!!! (any Full House devotees out there?)

That's it! Well, there will be a few more posts to come. Hang in there!

Glad you enjoyed the TR, thanks for reading.

I will have lots of final thoughts coming up -- lots on the BWI, that time of year, not having the DDP - yep, lots to come. ::yes::
Oh man, those are some super sad little boys :( Poor things. I have loved reading your report! You make it fun and update so often. It's been great following along on your trip.

So, what are your definite future WDW plans Shelly?

Thanks so much for reading along Kelli! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

DS9's picture on the plane described just how I was feeling. :sad1:

Our plans are August 26-Sept 4. 5 nights at CBR with free dining and then 4 nights at the Poly - room only. It is going to be super hot, but the crowds are supposed to be very low. AT and SW just released rates for our dates, but they are higher than what I would like to pay. So I am waiting that out a bit longer. I can make ADR's in about 2 1/2 weeks!

Thanks so much Sea! :goodvibes I like to add as much info as I can in my TR's. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Hopefully we will run into you in August! :cool1:

A few weeks after we got back the kids were wanting a way to display their pins, rather than just having them on their lanyards hanging in their closets until the next trip. So off to the craft store we went and this is what they have displayed in their rooms now!

Oh my, those are some sad boys! I love that they took that picture and you didn't know. What a great ME driver, I love that he shared his own personal pictures.

It looks like you and your boys got some great souvenirs. My dh doesn't get a lot either, the boys and I make up for that though.:rolleyes1

The corkboards are a great idea! My mother in law made my kids pin books for Christmas, but I think I like the corkboard better.

Looking forward to your video and final thoughts!

Ugh I have come to hate that word SNOW , sorry to hear you got so much overnight but glad it is you and not me :rotfl:
I'm so sad too! :sad1:

Thanks for reading the whole way through. I hope you enjoyed!

I am thinking seriously that we might have to add a day at the end of the trip to get lower fares, I am so confused, looking at the August fares that are out there if we fly out of one airport(only offers 2 flights a day) it won't matter what days we fly it is like $299 pp , but if we fly out the the other airport that we want to which offers 4 flights a day it varies by as much as $50 pp if we fly Sun-Sun (current ressie) or Sun-Mon. I really would be happy if we could book and not have to pay anything extra over the credit I have which is $577, but not looking good at this point :scared1:

I found lots of little surprises on their camera!

Our ME bus driver was awesome. :goodvibes I hope we get him again!

The boys got lots of great souvenirs. They are already saving for the next trip! Yes, the kids and I make up for my DH not shopping too! :rotfl:

A pin book sounds neat!
