I Can See Epcot From Here! ~ A November Trip and Dining Report ~

Good morning everyone! :goodvibes

We had some pretty nasty winds last night, but only a little snow. Things were back to normal today -- no cancellations or delays. I just have a quick update for you this morning, then I'm off to the school for a PTO meeting.

When we were done at Epcot we made our way back to the BWI and went up to the room and got changed and went back down for our last trip to the pool.

When we got to the pool they were having their afternoon games & a dance party. The kids of course joined right in! :yay::yay:

I walked out behind the pool area and took a few pics.

After a few hours we went back up to the room and got changed and ready for the rest of our day/evening.

Up Next: Beaches & Cream and a DIS Meet

Great updates! :thumbsup2

Love the update! I think you made a great resort choice this year. (after the rough start ;)) Y'all seem to have really enjoyed everything about the BWI and taken advantage of all it has to offer. :thumbsup2 It sure seems to have it all! The boys looked like they were having so much fun at the pool. That had to make you very happy! It's great that they have so many fun activities around the resort.

I hope your weather has improved up there. You would think we were getting the blizzard here today. :sad2: It's 34 deg. here, but they closed the schools for today because of the threat of icing roads. Yesterday on the news they were showing people crowding the grocery stores for things they wouldn't be able to get if they were snowed in. :rotfl2: It was just like when a hurricane is headed our way. People get a little crazy! :crazy2:

:) Great trip report! Sorry to get here so late, but I am finally all caught up and looking forward to reading the rest.

Thanks Teri! :goodvibes Yes, we really took the time to enjoy all that the BW had to offer. You have to for the prices they charge at the deluxes! :scared1::rotfl: It was another great day at the pool, but a little sad since it was our last day there.

We are on our second day of sunshine and it feels so good! :cool1: It's not warm or nice out by any means, but we go so many days in the winter without sunshine that when we get it, it just makes everything all better!

It must be like a whole other world down there! :rotfl: Schools closing when it's 34. :lmao: 34 is a balmy winter day here!! ::yes::

Welcome! :) Better late than never, right?! Glad you are caught up and enjoying. Another update will be coming up soon. :thumbsup2

After our final swim in the BWI pool we went upstairs and got ready for dinner. We had been talking all day about where we should go to eat on our last night. We didn't have an ADR. We decided to just keep it simple and go over to the Beach Club and eat at Beaches & Cream. Most of the day Shawna (Disney Mommy 3) and I had been texting back and forth and keeping each other informed of our plans. So after we decided to go to B&C I texted her and let her know. She said that would be wonderful since they were headed to the SAB pool!

It was a beautiful evening so we walked over to the BC.

There was something going on at the beach at the BC. I'm not sure if it was a wedding reception or what, but it sure was beautiful! :cloud9:

We made a quick stop inside the BC. I don't remember why. But the kids ended up trading pins with the greeter!

Then we headed over to B&C by the pool.

We put our name in at B&C and they said there would be a short wait. Pretty soon I spotted Shawna walking towards us! :yay: We had a nice time visiting with her and her DH. Her kids were swimming.

We probably visited for about 20 minutes and then we got called for B&C. So we said our good-byes and headed in to be seated. It is very neat looking in B&C, but very small.

We were seated in one of the booths.

DH ordered the "Roast Beef Sub – Grilled roast beef with au jus topped with provolone cheese, grilled onions & peppers". The kids choices were pretty limited – mini-burger, hot dog, or turkey sandwich. DS11 ordered the mini-burger and fries. DS9 said he just wanted fries. So we ordered him the mini-burger meal too and I ate his burger. And I ordered onion rings.

The kids meals came with sundaes.

DH and I didn't order dessert. Everything sounded so good, but we just weren't that hungry and would rather wait and get something on the BW later.

B&C was good, but we weren't overly impressed. I'm glad we went, but I don't see us going back anytime soon. We kind of wished we had gone back to BRG instead.

Total Bill: $37.98
Rating: 3 out of 5

Up Next: Our last evening on the BW.

Shelly, you didn't want to order the Kitchen Sink?! ;) I like the look of Beaches & Cream (old fashioned look) but it's a bummer it's so small. You gave it a try and now you can mark it off your list. How fun to meet up with another Dis'er. :)

So sad that it was your last day, which means your TR is getting another day closer to ending. :sad1:

I'm glad you are getting a little break from the miserable weather. Yes, it is a whole other world down here. This morning on the early news, there were reporters "on the scene" around town. One of them was doing a live report right next to a tree with........NEWS FLASH!!!!!........a few icicles! Now that is breaking news!

It sure was a beautiful evening for your last night. That is a wonderful picture of you and your DH!

I wonder what was going on at the BC beach area. It looked really nice. Maybe you could have been wedding crashers and eaten there instead of B&C! The food you had did look good, especially your DH's sandwich. Oh, and the sundaes looked really good! It was a cute place, too, but too bad it wasn't as good as you hoped. Oh well, now you've been there, done that. ;) The lobby of the BC looks beautiful!

How fun to have a Dis-meet on your last day! It's too bad your boys didn't get to meet her kids. (Or did they get to later?)

Well, I'm off to brave the elements and go for my mall walk. (Only because I've missed the last 2 days)

I think its great that Disney does fun things at the pools. Keeps the kids entertained for sure! We brought home about 50 strands of those beads last time.:rotfl2: The pictures of the Boardwalk and surrounding area are wonderful. Our trip after this one we are staying in that area since we love Epcot and DHS.

Beaches and Cream looks fun. It keeps getting axed too.:rolleyes1From your review and others I have read recently its going to stay off the list for now.

I'm sad that your trip is almost over!:upsidedow

I'm afraid I just wasn't quite that hungry!

B&C was very cool and I'm glad we tried it. We just won't be in a hurry to get back there.

DIS meets are so much fun! :yay:

Thank you! :)

It was a beautiful night. Which made it even harder. :sad1:

Maybe we should have gone back to the resort and changed into some nicer clothes and crashed the BC event!! :rotfl:

B&C was decent. DH did like his sandwich. We just didn't love the place. I'm glad we tried it though. You never know until you try something for yourself. ;)

No, the kids really didn't get to meet. Her kids were in the pool most of the time. They did run by quickly at one point looking for towels! I wish there would have been more time, my kids love meeting & talking to other DISer's kids. So they decided to talk Shawna's ear off instead.

Enjoy your walk!

Since when did Coke in the glass bottle become nostalgic?
Gosh, that makes me feel even older today. :headache:

Nice report today Shelly - very cool that you got to meet up with another
Dis'er! :cool1: Your husband's sandwich looks yummy. I liked the Oreo ears on your boy's desserts. :)

Thanks for sharing today's report! :cool1:

How nice that the boys were able to do some last night pin trades at BC. It worked out perfectly going over to BC and Beaches and Cream for dinner so that you could meet up with Shawna.

I wonder too what was going on at the beachfront.

You said about Beaches and Cream was small inside, all the recent pics I have seen it looks larger now than when we went in '94 I wonder if they expanded it or my memory is just that bad

DH sub looked good, a cheeseburger is just a burger to me and holds no special appeal, the onion rings looked tasty too. Cute sundaes the boys got with their meal.
You really should have tried the kitchen sink Shelly ! Maybe next time you stay in the Epcot area :)

When we went B&C claim to fame was the "biggest burger in the world" All my hungry men ordered it....was the size of a salad plate it was huge, when cut in fours each piece was about the size of a regular burger

I have to see if I can fit a trip to Beaches and Cream in during our trip

Yes, lots of fun was had at the pool that's for sure! :cool1: Disney must have an abundance of those beads, they handed them out everywhere when we stayed at POFQ! :rotfl:

I definitely recommend staying in the Epcot area, it's so fun!

Glad you enjoyed the update today!

The kids traded pins like crazy this trip!

Yep, it worked out great that we went to B&C for dinner and got to meet Shawna & family.

I think next time we go to B&C we will just go for dessert! :thumbsup2

Wow those burgers sound HUGE!!

Beaches and Cream kitchen Sink is one of those things you have to cross off your bucket list... We still have not made it over there to eat, although we did see it when I checked out the pool after our Cape May Breakfast !

It was great to finally meet Shelly and her family!!! Her kids are so sweet!! It was so fun--if we ever make it to PA I will be looking for her!!! LOL...that's the only thing about Dis meets--they are tooooo short!!!

Maybe next time! :rotfl:

How are you adjusting to life after Disney Joanne? Any future trips in the works?

Those are the cutest sundaes ever!!! :upsidedow

I know, they were so cute! :goodvibes

There she is -- the star of today's update!!! :cool1:

I hope my kids didn't talk your ear off too much. I remember at one point having to tell them they were interrupting us! :rotfl: They just get so excited to meet new people! :yay::yay:

Yes, it's too bad our trips didn't overlap a little longer and we could have had more time!

That is one beautiful sunset at Disney. Much prettier than at home for some reason. ;)

Fantastic meet up with Shawna and her family!

You have now forced me to add ice cream and oreo cookies to my grocery list so I can make these at home...for my kids of course. :rolleyes1
