I Can See Epcot From Here! ~ A November Trip and Dining Report ~

Great seats for Illuminations! :goodvibes
That funnel cake looked delicious! Your boys faces were to funny!

They were great seats for IllumiNations! :thumbsup2

The funnel cake was fabulous! :goodvibes

Shelly!!!

That looks so yummy! I did the same thing as you, added the ranch instead of the blue cheese - but I did keep the bacon. :D Now, those fries! Gosh, that looked really good too. Need to try that next time. :D

Finally! Someone who appreciates my salad! :rotfl: You should come to PA sometime Sea, they will make it for you just like that without even asking!
What better way to end a Disney day than entertainment on the Boardwalk and then watching Illuminations from your own balcony! In your PJ's!! Life is good, isn't it? :goodvibes Add in a funnel cake, and it's almost too good to be true!

Life is good! :cloud9: Well, that one week a year we are at Disney anyway. Right now I'm watching it snow. :upsidedow

I just noticed in your sig, that you are going back in late August. Awesome! Did you see my post about going in late August too for a long weekend? It would just be the two of us - I am thinking Aug 24-28, maybe staying at the Swan or Dolphin.

No, I didn't see that post. Our dates are Aug 26 - Sept 4!!! :cool1:

You'll be able to get an awesome teacher rate at the Swan/Dolphin at the end of August. If we hadn't just stayed in that area we would be staying there too. Maybe next time! :goodvibes

So I'm trying this again...........

Loved the salad pics.:lmao: ahhhhh. PGH salads.:rotfl:
Love the Illuminations video- it made me a bit misty eyed.:lovestruc Great view for sure!
Love the pic of you and the Mr....... Love the shoes.;)
Love the pics of OL- they are even better than last yrs! Did you use a different setting? Mine never come out good of lights like that.
Love the pics of the boys with their funnel cake. Too cute.
Love the RnRC pics- your poor baby so scared. Probably the hardest $$ he'll ever earn, but what a life lesson.:goodvibes

Thanks for the Bday wishes- it was a very good day. :wizard:

And hi to Teri----- our Christmas in SC was wonderful once we made it thru Birmingham AL.
Don't ask.:lmao:
Hope yours was wonderful as well.
Are you watching the Piggies tonight????:rolleyes1

And Kim-- whatever would make you think that Disney is not capable of handling Shelly and I vacationing at the same time?
They handle hurricanes every year, you know.:rolleyes1

:woohoo:

:rotfl:

:rotfl:

Well, it looks like you got all caught up!

You know you miss those PGH salads!! :rotfl:

I think you would love staying at one of the Epcot resorts. Being able to walk to your favorite park and see IllumiNations from the balcony. :cloud9: Maybe one day, when you can tear yourself away from the Poly!

I'm not sure if it was the same setting at the OL or not. . . It was definitely the same camera. It takes excellent night pictures!

Yes, DS9 and RNRC. :scared1::sad2: Poor little guy!

Let's just hope WDW doesn't have to handle you & I AND a hurricane at the same time!!!:eek::eek: Bad weather is probably my biggest fear for this trip. I know it is going to be blazing hot, but I'm worried about tons of rains and tropical storms. :scared:

I just realized that I forgot to post this video of the Osborne Lights!! :santa: Sorry, this should have been posted about 5 pages ago. :upsidedow

Enjoy!

:rotfl:

Well, you know I have to ask now....:rolleyes1 That's like when someone says, "Don't look at that person to your left!" What do you do? You look!

Our Christmas was very nice - glad yours was great, too!

I just came in from playing Pokeno. The TV was on and the piggies were losing bad. I had totally forgotten about the Sugar Bowl being tonight. They have actually pulled to within 5 now! I guess I should pull for the SEC team.

Oh, this was a great video! I love Carol of the Bells - it makes a great song for the OL!

Who's ready for a trip to MK???

Day 5 – Wednesday November 10

Today was a rope drop day! It was supposed to be a pretty nice day out so we decided to go without jackets!!

This seemed to be our new tradition for this trip - get ready and then the kids would take our picture on the balcony. :rotfl:

We went out to the bus stop and were at MK well before opening.

Pretty soon the opening show started.

Then we were greeted to lots of construction and cranes. It looked much worse in the daylight than it did on Monday evening.

We walked straight through the castle and to Fantasyland.

First up was Peter Pan, with no wait.

Next was It's a Small World, with no wait.

Up Next: More MK
(continued in next post)

Next up was Mickey's Philharmagic, with no wait.

Then more construction. What a mess.

Then we were off for a quick trip to Mickey's Toontown.

Rode Goofy's Barnstormer, with no wait.

Next we went to Tomorrowland. Space Mountain was closed last year when we were there, so DS11 and I were looking forward to it! The wait time was 30 or 40 minutes, I can't remember exactly. But it was longer than DS wanted to wait! So we grabbed 4 fastpasses and headed over to ride Astro Orbitor. We waited about 15 minutes. We had never done this ride before. It was pretty fun, but I didn't really care for the crammed ride up in the elevator.

Then we all went on Buzzlightyear!

We were getting hungry and decided to get some lunch. The kids wanted Casey's again, but DH & I wanted something different. So, we went to Casey's and grabbed some corndog nuggets (for $8.93) to go for the kids and headed to Pecos Bill's. We had gone there on our very first trip and didn't care for it much, but wanted to give it another try.

The lines were short, but the service was kind of slow. The kids got a table and were done eating their corndog nuggets before we even got our food. DH got a burger and fries and I got a taco salad. It was very good! DS11 was bored so he was taking pictures with my camera!

Up Next: More MK – Frontierland

Well I needed this update this morning to get me motivated. I am tired from watching the Piggies play late into the night. :)

Love love love MK in the early morning. The only park that I like better than MK in the morning is on the other coast---- Disneyland first thing is so absolutely grand that I can't explain it.

But MK, rope drop-- ::yes::
You can get so much done then!!

And wait until you are lying on the hammock at the Poly in the early morning drinking your Mtn Dew and listening to the opening music.:lovestruc It's the best ever.:cloud9:

I remember you saying that taco salad was good. It looked good.

And why is it that they put that big honkin burger on that little plate? It made me laugh.:rotfl2:

Not looking forward to the construction everywhere. It really does take away from the experience for me.

And Astro Orbiter--- it sort of makes me queasy, but the kids seem to love it so we do it, but I'm not a huge fan. Glad you went once at least.

Okay, NOW I'm off to do you-know-what.
Ready for battle with the calculator!:lmao:

You guys have gotten a lot accomplished by lunch time. I've never ever seen a "no wait" at Peter Pan...even early in the morning.

Glad you gave Pecos Bill's another try. We try to eat there every year just for the yummy cheese sauce and sauteed mushrooms.

MK is pretty awesome in the morning. :goodvibes Too bad about all the construction. :sad2:

Laying in a hammock at the Poly drinking a Mtn Dew sounds fabulous right about now. :cloud9:

That taco salad was pretty good. They only give you the taco shell bowl and the seasoned beef. Then you get all your toppings from the toppings bar. IDK how well you would like that! :rotfl: I just noticed that tiny plate DH's big burger came on! Leave it to you to notice that!

How did your battle with the calculator come out??? Please tell me the Poly won. . . ::yes:: :goodvibes

Yes we did! :goodvibes We like to hit Fantasyland at rope drop. Otherwise those lines get huge and I can't justify waiting 40 minutes to ride Peter Pan later. :rotfl:

I love your TWO tickers! :thumbsup2

There is nothing like an early MK morning in Fantasyland with no waits! That is the best way to start the day I think. :)

I tried Pecos Bill the first time last September. I thought it was pretty good too. The toppings bar is great!

I think the best part about Astro Orbiter is the view. :goodvibes

We love to start our MK morning with Fantasyland! :goodvibes

I liked Astro Orbiter and I'm glad we tried it. But it was hot up there and it wasn't even hot that day. :upsidedow I don't think we will be riding it in August! :faint:

Shelly you're lucky your boys still do Fantasyland. Mine were whining on our last trip (they were 7 and 8) that it was too "babyish". I thought they were going to throw me overboard when I made them go on Small World :lmao:!! And I don't think we've done toontown since our first trip in 2007 :sad2:

They don't mind those rides at all! Actually I would like to get away from it! Well, some of it. IASW takes so long!! I would be happy to just do Peter Pan and Philharmagic. They say IASW is 'tradition', so we have to do it. :confused3 They could care less about Snow White and Pooh though. And will only ride Dumbo when the line is short, which rarely happens!

We don't ever spent much time in Toontown. I am pretty sure we skipped it in 2009. They won't wait to see the characters :sad2:, so we basically go over there for DS9 to ride Barnstormer since he doesn't care for the bigger coasters.

Hey Shelly! Long time, no talk. Things have been crazy since our return from the World, and I just haven't had time for the DiS!
I've spent the last 2 days reading all 38 pages of your TR. Sounds pretty good so far. We had some ups and downs too, but overall had a great time.
Noticed your new ticker right away and was excited for you. We just booked for this year, same week as last, Thanksgiving week. It works out for not missing too much school, and we start back to school 3rd week of August and don't think I could take the Aug heat anyway.
From your report, I am definitely going to add Trex to our plans this year, looked like so much fun!
I'm excited to hear more, Happy New Year!
Cyndi

Hi Cyndi

Wow, it's been awhile! So glad you are back on the DIS and are all caught up on my TR!

You should definitely take your boys to T-Rex! :thumbsup2

August/September is not my first choice, but hopefully it will work out. We are certainly not planning to do everything. Or even close to it! :rotfl: But then it's not like it's our first time there or anything!!

Congrats on booking your next trip! :goodvibes
