I wasn't too fond of Casey's hotdogs either but I thought the nuggets were pretty yummy. It's an easy meal at least.
The boys looked cute in their Christmas gear!

You have some fantastic pictures of your family in front of the castle and I love the pick of your boys holding up the napkin. In all our trips I honestly do not recall ever eating in Casey's (which seems odd since both DS were such baseball fans) and I know we have never done the jungle cruise at night.
My DH would have been overjoyed at the cold had we went , he loves it, whereas I on the otherhand would not have been so thrilled. Maybe the cold held the crowds down a bit? I know I read a couple of threads on there and people said the party on Thurs the 11th and Fri the 12th were packed.
I would have been expecting a cookie in the shape of Mickey, round must be cheaper to bake?
I can not wait till Christmas Day to watch the parade and get my Mickey fix.
We use to get out of school early, I remember the year my favorite Aunt passed away it was the 19th and the 20th was our school party that I had to miss, but my Mom insisted we had to go drop of the candy canes for the party on our way to Pa , I remember being so mad that I had to miss the party because of our spur of the moment trip to Pa for my Aunts wake and funeral, I was about 10 and boy did I ever get a lecture from my Mom about being selfish..........I have to agree kids could drive you nuts if they were home too many days before the holiday, having another "old age" moment I can not recall with my own DS when they got out for Christmas break

Shelly - great pictures with the Castle! I wonder if you saw the lighting ceremony? It would have been around 6:30 or so. Maybe that's why everone was still standing around?
Hope you didn't freeze!
I am almost ready for Christmas. One more gift to pick up, tons to wrap! Santa does not wrap gifts at out house, so there's a few I get out of wrapping! We had an "issue" with Santa's wrapping paper showing up in the garage closet one year.
All my baking is done - need to make some hummus for a couple people and take stuff to work for a party.
I really should get off my rear and go wrap teacher gifts. The kids want to take them tomorrow, even though they go to school Wednesday too.
Wednesday night Sarah's choir (4th and 5th grades) is singing at the Mall of America. Not the place I really want to be three days before Christmas! I'm sure it will be crazy!!!
Great updates Shelly!!!
I love the pick a pearl- so sweet your DS's picked one for you. It's not just for moms and daughters. What a great memory.
The boys look so fun and festive for MVMCP. Which one of those pics became your Christmas card?
What a great update! In all of our 15 trips to WDW, we have never eaten at Casey's. I don't have a clue why because those little corn dog nuggets look so good.
I love all of your pictures in front of the castle. They turned out so good.
HI!!!
I soooo loved your TR from last year and am very excited I found this one! I remember reading yours right up to when we left for our January trip, and it looks like it will be the same this year!
Very glad I found you! I have always wanted to visit the Boardwalk, and this year we have reservations at Kouzzina, so we are looking forward to it.
Can't wait to keep reading!
Yesterday was very productive for me...on DIS at least. For work, not so much.
I'm getting there!! Read through all of the PTR (I admit I skimmed some...but read through the important stuff!) AND I read your BWI review. That sucks about the first room, but at least you were able to switch to a fantastic one!!I'm the same about starting vacations. I need to be able to unpack and settle in a bit before I can truly feel like I've "arrived". Knowing I would have to switch rooms would definitely throw me off balance a bit.
Off to read your TR![]()
i LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE all the pics infront of the castle. The boys look so Big... i remember when they were so little... time sure flies by.... ugh and now i'm having a craving for a corndog nugget... those are so YUMMY!!!!!!
Wonderful reports and pictures Shelly.I especially like how your PP pictures came out. Did you use any of them for a greeting card this year?
All caught up, just thought I'd chime in to say how much I'm enjoying it.
Love the looks of Boardwalk. We've never really been in that area (the closest we got was Yacht Club), but I think we'll have to check it out next year. Tempted to look into changing resorts too![]()

I love productive days on the DIS!!![]()
I'm glad you made it through the PTR and the BWI review. Yeah that whole room things was quite unpleasant, but I am so glad it was taken care of.
In my second post on this TR there are links to all the updates. That might help you get caught up faster!
All caught up!!I didn't even have to use the links!!
Some quick comments while I've got them in my head, then will go back and quote properly, etc...
I have the "Cooking with the Disney Chefs" cookbook which has the recipe for Tonga Toastin it - does anybody want me to post it on here? There's a bunch of other recipes that look good (off the top of my head I can remember the Cheddar Cheese Soup from Le Cellier being in there).
Someone (sorry - forget who!!) asked about variety with Pick-a-Pearl. It seems to be luck of the draw - and boy did I get lucky when I did it!!I chose one oyster, and wound up with coloured twins! Two pearls, one was more of a very pinky colour, and the other was a very light bluey colour. I put both on a nice chain with the simple "rabbit ears" thingy-that-holds-the-pearl (totally blanking on the word now), kept one for myself and gave the other to my mom. I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure that they guarantee a pearl in every oyster, and that you can pick a second if there's no pearl. However, I remember watching for close to 45 minutes waiting for my turn, and never once was there not a pearl inside. In my opinion, definitely something to try at least once!!

When we did pick a pearl, my DD7 picked one with a small pearl and they not only let her pick again, but she got to trade that one, then got "twins" and got to pick AGAIN. She got to keep the second single one and the "twins" she found. So she ended up with 3 pearls! I'm going to make the twins into earrings when she gets her ears pierced. I believe they guarantee you will get a pearl and if it's tiny, you get to try again until you get a better size.
Awwww I love the pic of your DH on the carousel.Don't you just love it when DH's let loose and turn into big kids at Disney! Disney is such a great place for quality family time.
The Dance Party for the kids looked like they had fun and now I am jealous you rode the carousel. You know that was my favorite ride as a lil girl and since our first trip to Disney I have wanted to ride it but felt a lil silly so I never have and I guess probally never wil, yep I am definately jealous now
On a side note, I had photo books printed up of our last vacation with my DSin 2009 to give DH and Ddil for Christmas, they came today
the only bad thing I proof read thru each page before I hit to print them and don't you know as I am reading them today I found one typo and I inadvertinly refered to my Ddil Uncle as her cousin. I am so mad
other than that I love how they came out and can not wait to give them the book on Christmas Day.
Chip and Dale were even there!!
MVMCP looks like so much fun! We loved it when we went in 2006. The boys look like they had a blast dancing with Chip and Dale!![]()
I'm loving the pictures!
I saw these two once. And then when I was about two people away, they had to go a restI really want a picture with Dale - that's my dad's name!
I'm excited to hear about the parade - for the MNSSHP, the parade was the best part.![]()
