I Can See Epcot From Here! ~ A November Trip and Dining Report ~

Love the boardwalk and Epcot pics! Your boys are getting really good with a camera.

My son is so into Pokemon, he loved Epcot too. I really like the carriage necklace, I might have to try that next time!

Thanks for all the updates - I know it is hard to keep going during this busy time of year!

Thanks for the great report, we will be staying at BWI on our upcoming trip this spring.

This will be our 1st trip at this resort and I've always loved the boardwalk and am looking forward to our stay here.

Welcome! :goodvibes I hope the TR is helpful to you. Congrats on your upcoming trip to the BWI!! It is fabulous! :cool1:
You DS got some great pics of their favorite Pokemen it looks like and how cute about the Pokeman Christmas Greeting :)

Do they still have so much Hello Kitty merchandize, funny I do not recall the pokeman but do remember seeing lots and lots of Hello Kitty when I was there in 2009.

Thanks!

Hmm. . . I don't remember any Hello Kitty merchandise, but it could be there. We generally don't pay attention to anything girly! :upsidedow

Thanks! :goodvibes I'll have to tell the boys everyone is enjoying their pics!

My DS got a new Pokemon game from my mom Saturday and I haven't seen much of him since. He's had his head buried in that game all weekend! :faint:

I will try to keep up with the updates over the holidays. I have written ahead a bit so I have a few posts already ready to go!! :yay:

We got back to the BWI and got our stuff together for MVMCP. It was supposed to be chilly again this evening and we knew we would be out late, so we all took a sweatshirt with us. The kids and I even took gloves, thankfully!!

We went out to the bus stop and waited about 10 minutes on a MK bus.

I don't remember exactly what time we got to MK, but I'm thinking it was 5:00 or so. We stopped for a few pictures and then were headed to Casey's Corner for a quick dinner.

It was cooling down fast. We knew we would need our sweatshirts before long.

The kids just love Casey's Corner's corndog nuggets! This is their most requested place to eat in all of WDW! :upsidedow I don't really care for hotdog's, but I do like Casey's french fries and cheese sauce.

DH had 2 hotdogs and fries. The kids each had corndog nuggets and fries. And I had fries.

Not a very exciting meal by any means, but we wanted a quick bite to eat and it did the job.

Total Bill: $23.39
Rating: 4 out of 5

When we came outside it was getting dark. We headed towards Adventureland.

Next up was the Jungle Cruise. Everyone always says – you have to do the Jungle Cruise at night! Well, I didn't think it was that fabulous. I couldn't really see much. I like it better during the day. The kids thought it was fun! It sure was getting cold out.

Next Up: More MVMCP -- Castle pics and Cookies & Hot Chocolate!
(continued in next post)

Now it was about 7:00 and we went towards the castle. There was a big crowd of people there and we didn't want to miss anything so we joined in. I don't know if everyone thought something was going to happen there at 7:00 when the party began or what. But nothing did! :confused3 Other than they announced that the party was officially beginning.

People were complimenting the kids on their hats and they were loving it!! :santa::santa: We stopped for some pictures in front of the castle and then headed for the nearest cookie & hot chocolate station!

Next Up: Cosmic Ray's Jingle Dance Party :cool1:

How was everyone's weekend? Is everyone ready for Christmas? :santa: I pretty much am. We actually already had Christmas with my mom on Saturday. So the kids were pretty busy with their new toys and video games all weekend!

My shopping, wrapping, and baking is done. I took today off so I could go in for DS9's Christmas party at school. The 3rd grade was celebrating Christmas around the world. They had game stations set up all over to represent different countries. It was very fun! And very Epcot-ish! :goodvibes We still have 2 more days to go until break. I think a lot of schools got out Friday. I couldn't imagine that! :scared1: My kids would be so hard to keep entertained for an entire week before Christmas. They are bouncing off the walls now!! :yay:

I'll probably have to work the next 2 days, but I'll try to keep up with the updates. I like to try to post one a day if I can! I need to upload some pictures of the ornaments I bought at Disney to show you guys. They are so awesome!! I love them! :lovestruc

Love the updates! the Party looks like alot of fun! I love all the decorations...

Thanks for the feedback on JC at night, I think we'll forgo that, as I thought it would be light up more?

Did you get only 1 cookie and hot chocolate? was that included?

good for you to be all wrapped and baked!

I was all shopped, and then went and bought more! I love giving presents. This year we also added "Shop for a Senior", you are provided anonymously a Seniors name at a local seniors home and their wishes for Christmas ( 1 or 2 things). We got those things and more to provide them and extra special Christmas! That felt nice! We also do Toy Moutain each year - providing an unwrapped toy to the Salvation Army. This year we had 3 bags full, I cleared out my gift tote and donated it all along with some additional items for "teens" :santa:

I spent 3 hours Saturday night wrapping, and ran out of boxes! So off I went to get more... I think I have quite a few more hours of wrapping left :scared1: we were suppose to go light this year... but I can't help myself !

DD is off school now, and it is going to be hard to keep her busy, and get us all organized.

Think of how crazy I will be while you relax :)

 I have no idea how I missed BOTH your PTR and the start of your TR, but I'm here now! I love your reports, and I remember being excited to read your review of BWI. :thumbsup2

Off to start reading - so glad to have something to do during this sure to be slooooow week at work before the start of the holidays! :santa:

LOVE the "Thank you Sheila" on the napkin. Too Cute!

I took the day off today, too. Can you hear me coughing <hack hack>? :rolleyes1 Wrapping, printed "From Santa" gift tags for the boys' gifts. Always wonder if it's enough, even when I know it's MORE than enough stuff! Still have to pick up a few gift cards and STILL haven't planned the boys' surprise box! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

I am guilty of this too... and then end up overbuying... I promised myself not to this year... I did well with those I budgeted for... but I didn't give DD a budget, and do clothes count? :confused3

 I don't think the pre-boxing day sales helped me here either... who can resist some of these sales

The party was a lot of fun! :santa:

I thought the JC would be more lit up too. I was surprised by how dark it was.

They only gave you one cookie & one drink at a time, but you could go up as many times as you wanted to. It was included. The lines were a little long. We all went through once and then DS11 went through again. He's not one for passing up anything 'free'.

Well good for you doing all that anonymous giving. You sure will put some smiles on some people's faces. :goodvibes

I am happy to say that I didn't go overboard with the kids this year for once. Nearly everything they wanted cost $30-$50 each, so they actually don't have all that many gifts to open! But I know they will be happy because they are getting exactly what they wanted.

I did splurge on the Epic Mickey Collectors Edition and they will be surprised to get that!

Yes, you sound very sick. :rotfl:

None of the Santa gifts are signed here. They are wrapped but not signed yet. My kids are too snoopy!!

You better get on that surprise box!!!!:yay:

You have some fantastic pictures of your family in front of the castle and I love the pick of your boys holding up the napkin. In all our trips I honestly do not recall ever eating in Casey's (which seems odd since both DS were such baseball fans) and I know we have never done the jungle cruise at night.

My DH would have been overjoyed at the cold had we went , he loves it, whereas I on the otherhand would not have been so thrilled. Maybe the cold held the crowds down a bit? I know I read a couple of threads on there and people said the party on Thurs the 11th and Fri the 12th were packed.

I would have been expecting a cookie in the shape of Mickey, round must be cheaper to bake?

I can not wait till Christmas Day to watch the parade and get my Mickey fix.

We use to get out of school early, I remember the year my favorite Aunt passed away it was the 19th and the 20th was our school party that I had to miss, but my Mom insisted we had to go drop of the candy canes for the party on our way to Pa , I remember being so mad that I had to miss the party because of our spur of the moment trip to Pa for my Aunts wake and funeral, I was about 10 and boy did I ever get a lecture from my Mom about being selfish ..........I have to agree kids could drive you nuts if they were home too many days before the holiday, having another "old age" moment I can not recall with my own DS when they got out for Christmas break :lmao:

Shelly - great pictures with the Castle! I wonder if you saw the lighting ceremony? It would have been around 6:30 or so. Maybe that's why everone was still standing around?

Hope you didn't freeze!

I am almost ready for Christmas. One more gift to pick up, tons to wrap! Santa does not wrap gifts at out house, so there's a few I get out of wrapping! We had an "issue" with Santa's wrapping paper showing up in the garage closet one year.

All my baking is done - need to make some hummus for a couple people and take stuff to work for a party.

I really should get off my rear and go wrap teacher gifts. The kids want to take them tomorrow, even though they go to school Wednesday too.

Wednesday night Sarah's choir (4th and 5th grades) is singing at the Mall of America. Not the place I really want to be three days before Christmas! I'm sure it will be crazy!!!

Great updates Shelly!!!

I love the pick a pearl- so sweet your DS's picked one for you. It's not just for moms and daughters. What a great memory.

The boys look so fun and festive for MVMCP. Which one of those pics became your Christmas card?

What a great update! In all of our 15 trips to WDW, we have never eaten at Casey's. I don't have a clue why because those little corn dog nuggets look so good.

I love all of your pictures in front of the castle. They turned out so good.

HI!!! :yay::yay:

I soooo loved your TR from last year and am very excited I found this one! I remember reading yours right up to when we left for our January trip, and it looks like it will be the same this year!

Very glad I found you! I have always wanted to visit the Boardwalk, and this year we have reservations at Kouzzina, so we are looking forward to it.

Can't wait to keep reading!

I don't know how you missed it either! But I'm glad you are here now! :cool1:

I hope you get caught up soon! :goodvibes

Yesterday was very productive for me...on DIS at least. For work, not so much. :rolleyes1

I'm getting there!! Read through all of the PTR (I admit I skimmed some...but read through the important stuff!) AND I read your BWI review. That sucks about the first room, but at least you were able to switch to a fantastic one!! :cool1: I'm the same about starting vacations. I need to be able to unpack and settle in a bit before I can truly feel like I've "arrived". Knowing I would have to switch rooms would definitely throw me off balance a bit.

Off to read your TR :surfweb:

i LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE all the pics infront of the castle. The boys look so Big... i remember when they were so little... time sure flies by.... ugh and now i'm having a craving for a corndog nugget... those are so YUMMY!!!!!!

Wonderful reports and pictures Shelly. :goodvibes I especially like how your PP pictures came out. Did you use any of them for a greeting card this year?

All caught up, just thought I'd chime in to say how much I'm enjoying it.

Love the looks of Boardwalk. We've never really been in that area (the closest we got was Yacht Club), but I think we'll have to check it out next year. Tempted to look into changing resorts too :rolleyes1
