I Can See Epcot From Here! ~ A November Trip and Dining Report ~

I feel a little guilty for telling you this, but I am definitely staying warm. It's 71 degrees here right now! Our weather is so crazy - we were in the 20's Monday and now the 70's. :upsidedow I can't even imagine what 7 deg. feels like. And you have to get out tonight, too! Makes me cold just thinking about it! How neat that your DS11 gets to do the air guitar solo! I remember that video you posted of him on your last trip dancing around - was it at DTD or DHS? (I think it was DTD) Anyway, that was so cute - he is a real performer! I hope you can share some pics of the program.

I bet it was fun springing the MVMCP surprise on your boys - you can see how excited they were! That was so nice of Sheila to think of y'all and make your trip even more special. :santa:

71!!! You should feel bad!! :rotfl:

Actually it's not too bad today. I worked for a little bit today and when I walked out of the school I thought to myself - this really isn't too bad out here. It's snowing and about 25. Funny how 25 doesn't feel bad after 7!

DS did great last night! I thought for a little bit there he was going to chicken out, but he went through with it. He got really nervous right before we left. But he did great and everyone loved it! People were stopping us on the way out saying how awesome he did. He was in his glory with all the attention!

It was fun surprising the boys with MVMCP. Especially since I had previously told them we weren't going! Yes, Sheila is very kind!

Well, it seems that everyone is busy with work, shopping, wrapping, baking, and all that other fun stuff! So I don't know if anyone is reading or not, but I will continue anyway. I don't like to drag TR's out too awful long!

Day 3 Monday November 8 continued. . .

We didn't want to head to MK until about 5:00 or so. So we thought we'd go out and soak up some sun on the BW. We hadn't seen the Luna Park pool yet so stopped to take a look. It looked very fun and the kids were disappointed they couldn't swim today.

Up Next: A short trip to Epcot

71!!! You should feel bad!! :rotfl:

Well, it's back in the 40's today. :sad2: That's what I get for gragging. ;)

Actually it's not too bad today. I worked for a little bit today and when I walked out of the school I thought to myself - this really isn't too bad out here. It's snowing and about 25. Funny how 25 doesn't feel bad after 7!

So it's a balmy 25 up there today?

DS did great last night! I thought for a little bit there he was going to chicken out, but he went through with it. He got really nervous right before we left. But he did great and everyone loved it! People were stopping us on the way out saying how awesome he did. He was in his glory with all the attention!

You know, they say all actors get a little stage fright right before they go on. The sign of a true performer!

It was fun surprising the boys with MVMCP. Especially since I had previously told them we weren't going! Yes, Sheila is very kind!

That's the best kind of surprise - when you truly weren't expecting something! Can't wait to hear all about your evening!

Love your latest update. :thumbsup2 The goodies in the bakery are giving me a sweets craving. Boy, it looks so empty on the Boardwalk!

I wasn't working, shopping, wrapping, or baking this morning. My baby graduated from college this morning! :woohoo: :faint:  So, my disposable income should drastically increase soon, right?

I am here reading! Love the updates! Looking forward to MVMCP update!
The skies and sunshine looked beautiful

It is currently 29 degrees F here! Which is a warm up from yesterday!

And it's sunny and 75 in Orlando !

Only 35 more days - hope it stays warm and sunny!

Happy to hear DS did great with his air guitar. Today the kids get out for christmas break here! It's Friday and I don't know what we'll do tonight :confused3

Hey Shelly ! I'm here. I was working this morning, then shopping. Now I'm home trying to find something for dinner.
Love the updates - I really think I'd like to try Boardwalk one of these next few trips! :) I really like the area, partly b/c I love Epcot.
We'll see!

So happy your DS got the air guitar solo and did well! I bet it was super fun for him!
My DD had a little holiday dance show last night at the end of her dance classs. She was front and center, and smiled the whole time. She knew all the steps! I was so proud. She's really improved. It's so fun to watch your kid do well!

It's getting cold again here too - windy this afternoon. Of course, the warmest it's been in a couple weeks was about 21 degrees!! Gotta love winter in MN!
I see that Orlando is warming up. Someone (ADP) is doing a live report. He was at the DVC meeting, went on the podcast cruise and is back at the parks. He showed some crowd pictures - it looked fairly crowded to me. I imagine it is only going to get worse now, a week before Christmas!!!

Still can't wait to hear what you guys thought about MVMCP! popcorn:::santa:

Oh dear seeing the pics of all the fantastic shops on the boardwalk so makes me now want to change resorts :rotfl: The ice cream looked so yummy cold as it is I could truely go for that about now. BW just seems so unique as far as resorts go. I love their pool, clown and all it is just so very festive.

Glad to hear your DS did so well with his air guitar solo, I know you were just beaming with pride, my DS :littleangel: did a saxophone solo once and I was just smileing away like the cheshire cat.

It did not seem too cold today when I was out with the dog, no wind :) and they are saying the noreaster that is coming for the weekend is going to miss us :yay:

Thanks! :goodvibes Yep, the Boardwalk was usually pretty empty during the day and busier in the mornings and at night. We enjoyed taking pictures with hardly anyone else around!

Congratulations to your DS!! :cool1: I bet you are so proud!!

YAY there are still a few people here!! :yay: Glad you are enjoying!
And YAY for 35 more days for you! :woohoo: Actually it must be 34 now!!!!!!!

We still have 3 more school days to go before Christmas break. Our breaks are usually much shorter than everyone else, but then we get 3 full months off in the summer!

The MVMCP :santa: update will be coming up soon, but there's a short trip to Epcot first!

You should try the BW sometime, you could stay in the Villas now that you are DVC!! :cool1: The area is great and so is the proximity to Epcot!

Aw, I bet your DD's dance was cute. :goodvibes Much cuter than the dance my DS did. There was nothing pretty about it, but it sure was hilarious!! :rotfl:

I saw that it finally warmed up in Florida! I bet it sure is crowded down there right now.

 Yes, that's just what you need to do - change resorts. And dates again. :lmao:

Disney just makes it too hard with all the fantastic choices!! :headache:

Yes, DS did great. I was just happy he went through with it. He got so nervous right before. :scared1: But I think after all the attention and praise he got from it he would surely do it again!

We actually have sunshine here today! :goodvibes

The Boardwalk looks beautiful! We missed it last trip, but the prior ones we'd eaten at Spoodles, so we go to enjoy the atmosphere some. I definately want to spend a few hours one evening this next trip. Andy wants to rent a Surrey bike. Did you happen to see a price list for those anywhere?

Great pics of the BW! They make me wish I was there right now! Looking forward to reading about your trip to EPCOT:goodvibes

I have not shown DH the pics of the BW for fear he will want to stay there and after all these years I finally got him to stay at the monorail resort area, that might not ever happen again especially with him retireing and not making anymore OT :rotfl: and I do so want to try all the wonderful places to eat over there at CR, Poly and GF and it is going to be so easy to drag him to all of them staying at CR  See I do have a somewhat evil plan :lmao:

It is cold and crisp here today 35 degrees and sunny here too today :goodvibes

great pics Shelly.... the boardwalk looks beautiful and relaxing... those treats look so yummy!!!!!

You should definitely plan an evening on the BW next time. Your kids will love the entertainment!

DS11 says the Surrey bikes were $22 for a half hour. He's probably right because I know he kept looking at them and bugging us to do it. :rotfl:

Great pics of the BW! They make me wish I was there right now! Looking forward to reading about your trip to EPCOT:goodvibes

Thanks Lauren! :) I was thinking of you when I took that picture of the rooms above Seashore Sweets!

great pics Shelly.... the boardwalk looks beautiful and relaxing... those treats look so yummy!!!!!

Thanks Mari! :goodvibes Those ice cream cones were great, DS9 and I had chocolate, DS11 had cookie dough, and DH had strawberry. :cloud9:

We decided to take a short trip over to Epcot before getting ready for MVMCP. We didn't plan to ride anything. We were just headed to Japan! Why Japan? Well, the kids are very obsessed with Pokemon right now! All the kids around here are. The video games and toys and everything!! And since it is all based in Japan they had high hopes that they would have some good stuff there. And I wanted to do Pick A Pearl! This is something that I never really paid too much attention to in the past, it just seemed like something that mothers and daughters do together. But then I saw it in a couple of TR's on the DIS and read about the Ebay seller who sells the pearl carriages and it just looked really neat. I had told the boys about it and they said they would like to help me pick out an oyster! So I purchased the carriage necklace for $5.50 on Ebay before we left and was all set.

We got to the Mitsubishi Store in Japan and walked in and the kids were in their glory, Pokemon stuff everywhere!!! :yay: All right there beside Pick A Pearl!

This CM was very friendly and helpful and knew all the Pokemon names and everything. I think the boy were in love! :lovestruc

After they looked at that stuff for quite some time they made their purchases and I bought a ticket for Pick A Pearl and went over and got my number and waited. There was only one person in front of me. Pretty soon it was my turn!

The boys picked a winner!!

Up Next: MVMCP!

Great update! We love Pick-a-Pearl...we pick pearls on every trip! It's a tradition for us. Can't wait to hear about MVMCP!:cool1:

I stopped to take a break in between cleaning bathrooms and cleaning my LR/DR/Kitchen, and you've done a Saturday update! :woohoo: Cleaning can wait!

That's so fun that you went to Epcot for just one reason that day. So many times we kind of just wander in and out of the different countries and stores, but it's good when there is something special to see and do. My DS missed the Pokemon craze when it first started - that was several years ago, so I guess it wasn't a flash in the pan fad like Beanie Babies. I won't even tell you how many Beanie Babies we had (and still have). ;) So what purchases did the boys make?

Pick-a-Pearl looks like so much fun! Do you just point to the one you want to open, and do they all have pearls inside? OK, one more question. :guilty: Are there a lot of variations in what you can get? Sorry for the inquisition - I'm just so interested! I love the carriage necklace - it's perfect!

It sure is convenient to just walk over to Epcot for a little while and then walk back. That gives the Epcot resorts a definite plus!

I may have missed it, but did you ever say how your DH likes your shorter hair? Seeing your pics in this update made me think of that. :scratchin

What a beautiful pearl! I bought the same carriage necklace before my trip, but I haven't even worn it yet. Pearl is my birthstone, so I couldn't wait to pick my own.
