Your son sure loved EE! My daughter, also 11 was the exact same way and rode the single rider line by herself. Like you, once was enough for me. I also really love Dinosaur.

Friends of mine had the exact same experience at AKL! They were coming to meet me for breakfast at Boma and the bus driver did not announce the stops. They also had to make the haul over to the main lodge and we were a little late for our ADR. I would guess the majority of visitors aren't experts so announcing all stops would be better than not doing so, right? Geesh.

Ta Da! The long awaited balcony room

I am happy they gave you such a room with such a great view. Just curious did they come right up with your luggage? I hope you did not have to wait long for it.

About the token voucher, I read in another TR that the 100 points or whatever they are is only equal to $2, so each game must have been $1.00.

I think they should disclose what that voucher is worth, what kid wants to stop after 1 game, so most parents I am sure end up having to shell out additional $ ...................We only got a package once that I can rememeber and I do not recall if it came with any arcade voucher, but I do know we each got a "free" T-shirt at Planet Hollywood with purchase of a meal and a family portait package with Mickey

I think maybe they need to come up with some better incentives to get people to book trips or increase the amount of that arcade voucher for sure

I love the new room. What a great view. BWI is on the top of the list of places to stay next trip.

It stinks that the boys only got 1 game each off the card. At least you used the card though. We totally forgot about ours until the day we checked out of POR last May. I don't even remember seeing what the aracade looked like.

I feel partially responsible for your bad time at AKL. I kept telling you how much I looooved it when we visited it and how beautiful I thought it was.
And then we talked about Mara and what you should order there----of course!! I'm happy to see that the chicken pita looked really good. That was a strange ordering situation they have going on there.

I'm mostly sorry you had to walk the 5 minutes that weren't 5 minutes to get there from the villas. How dumb that the CM told you that. Sort of like the drunk driver that gets pulled over by the cop and when asked how many drinks they've had, they always say "a couple". "How far" to a CM is always five minutes in Disney. Time must move at a different pace there than the rest of the world.

Yay for finally getting in the right room!! It was a beautiful view- even if you had to wait for it for forever. I think it would have been such a different trip for you guys if it all had've started out with you in a good room to begin with. Sometimes once a vacation gets off on the wrong foot you just can't get it back straight.
I hope the rest of the trip was better!!

Yay for the new room! Woohoo for the balcony and the great view! Boo for them not calling you. Good thing you decided to just go and wait at the resort instead of waiting and waiting for the call.

I wonder how many poor unseasoned Disney guests have been stuck in that first room and didn't know any better. They didn't know who they were messing with when they tried to stick you in there!

It looks really cold from the looks of the lake. I sure hope it gets warmer soon!

Good morning TR friends

What a morning already! Our school has an alert system where they call you with a recording if there's a delay or cancellation or any other important info. Well at 5:30 this morning my phone rings and it's the alert system saying there is a 2 hour delay. I'm not surprised, the snow hasn't stopped coming down for about a day and a half straight. I can't even begin to guess how many inches we have. So anyway, I go back to bed thinking that the Subline will call 2 hours late if they need me. They usually call me between 6-6:30 when they need me, so I thought I was good until 8:00! At 6:40 my phone rings and it's the Subline! Then I tried to go back to bed, but it just wasn't happening!

So now I have to head out here in a bit and hope I make it there! It looks so nasty out.

In other news -- My photopass CD came yesterday!!!

First off, I hope that you made it to school safely. I can't imagine having all that snow since we very rarely see any here in Louisiana. We thought we were in the freaking North Pole last year when we had 4 inches. Oh and it was gone in less than two days.

We had a 2hr school delay where I live in Ct yesterday, we had about 5 inches but some places had none, got to love living in the higher elevations

Hope you made it into school ok, I do not miss working on days like that, DH called in yesterday, I so can not wait until he is retired, his last day is Dec 31st unless he changes his mind again

Love the room pics I think BW must be one of the prettiest resorts, and what a cute towel animal you got. That Mickey lamp is similar to the one they had at DL Hotel the year we stayed there I so wanted to take it home

I wonder why they don't always announce the stops at AKL? That could certainly cause you to be late for an ADR.

Well actually I forgot to tell about the luggage part! The CM at the front desk walked over to Bell services when we did and as we were asking for our luggage, she said -- I'll give them your name and room #, and the Bell Services CM said - we'll be right up. So we went up. I took the pics of the view and we waited just a little bit and started to wonder where our luggage was and the phone rang. They had tried to deliver it to our old room. Luckily no one was in it yet! So then they brought it right away!

Yeah, we were disappointed in the arcade voucher this time. But I was a mean mom and didn't by anymore! I figure they play enough video games at home!

We got a free tiny keychain from Planet Hollywood. Same as the last few years.

It's not your fault we didn't care for AKL! Mara would have been decent if my food would have been hot!

You are right, I think the trip got off to a bad start and we never fully recovered. It's not like the trip was terrible, I have plenty of fun stuff to share with all of you! But it just wasn't the best trip ever. Oh well, I guess not every trip can be perfect.

I know, I was so glad we decided to go back to the resort and check on the room instead of just wandering around wasting time!

Well someone got stuck with that first room. I don't know if it was by choice or if the resort was completely booked all week and they didn't have a choice. We saw them getting room service one day and felt bad for them!

It was SO cold!! That wind was terrible!

I think CBR still remains our favorite, by a little anyway. The BWI definitely had it's perks. We kind of missed the trees and hammocks and tropical feel though!

It is just plain nasty here. Tons of snow and extremely cold. I think the cold was our main reason for the delay, the wind chill was in the single digits this morning.

The new BWI rooms are very nice. We liked it a lot!

We made it safe and sound. They had the roads pretty well cleared by the time we had to leave.

Gee, thanks for all the snow! It is bitter cold here too. We are in the middle of 2 weeks of 'unseasonably' cold temps. I am thinking it is definitely going to be a white Christmas here!

I live in CT too, but I live in the area that got nothing! Not even flurries! So unfair!
