I can not wait until school starts!!

"I can't wait till school starts!"...You sound like my mother! During the summer my older sister would baby sit my brother and I while my mom was at work, (full-time) and we would drive each other crazy till we started fighting each other! We would call mom every 5 minutes with, "Mom she hit me!"
"Mom, there's nothing good here to eat for lunch!"
" Mom, Kristi drank the last of the Koolaid!" :lmao:

I'm really surprised that mom didnt lose her job! But she would get really p---ed off...

This is my work day!

OP--are they in camp together ("as soon as I pick them up")? It sounds like since you work full time you don't see them more in the summer than during school so I am thinking how much time they spend together must be the big difference. It might mean more driving for you for drop off and pick up but maybe next summer you can find different camp/daycare options for them. If they are not together all day maybe they will be less likely to antagonize each other (and therefore you) in the evening hours:confused3

I love mine to pieces also and actually have not yet ever looked forward to school starting--but I know what you mean. We have occasional days when bedtime cannot get here soon enough.

Seperate camps is something to think about. During school months they don't seem to be as wound up. I guess because of the routine and homework and also not seeing each other the whole day. Of course it's like choosing the lesser of two evils when you consider homework time in the whole scheme of things. UGH!

Oh well. I am thankful they are healthy and mostly ;) happy children.

HUGS op!! I know what you mean. My DD13 and DS8 when apart are golden...together they are a toxic reaction!!

Have a wine cooler and know school is almost upon you!

Christian doesn't qualify for ESY because he doesn't lose skills over the summer(because he doesn't have a lot of skills to start with.) As his teacher said,"You just do suuuuuuch a good job with him during the summer." Nice to get a compliment from the teacher but ARGH :headache:

I taught special ed, and I'll tell you right now ALL my kids qualified. At least the ones who wanted to qualify. I know it's probably not the most honest thing but those kids really did do better after haveing ESY and some of my parents really did need the relief. (ASD kids)

Now not all my kids went (some parents did not want to hassle with the arrangements), but I always encouaged them to keep the kids in for the routine and their (parents) mental health. There is always a way to show regression, you just have to have a teacher who is willing to put the effort into documentation.
