I can make it, right?

We have plans to go to DD our first night for dinner at T-Rex. Only time available was 3:30, unless I want to go at 9 and I have a 5 yr old so that's out of the question.

We land at 12:20, hoping to switch flights putting us in at 12:05, but those are $900 right now.

Land at 12:20, if we get a car or taxi to take us to resort instead of ME, staying at POFQ. Do online check in and drop bags off in room or guest services and head to boat to DD.

I know I'll be pushing if, buts it's doable, right?

It's doable if you're renting a car, bags don't take forever to come down, or get lost at airport, and everything goes almost perfect.

If you take a cab or town car, your chances of making the ADR are slim to none.

If you rent a car, you can just drive to DTD and leave your bags in the car. You won't make it if there are any delays.

Here's what you should do: Join the Landry's select club. It costs $25 (but they immediately give you a $25 credit on your card) and it will give you priority seating at any Landry's restaurant (including T Rex Cafe.) Then you just take DME, check in at POR, show up at the restaurant at your leisure and get the next available table - no ADR needed.

It's doable as long as you have no delays. Have you tried calling T-Rex directly for a better ADR time? They don't release all their reservations to the Disney website and I have always found the prime meal times get scooped up very quickly through Disney but they have always been able to accommodate me when I called.

I had an almost identical arrival time as you and made it to T-Rex before 3:00. But I did rent a car and drive straight to DTD, leaving all the bags in the car. I would not try to do it any other way.

Agree...car rental is the only way to make it by 3:30 and that's coming straight from the airport. DTD traffic is AWFUL with all the construction but you should have an extra 30-45 minutes to "play with". Good luck! :thumbsup2 :tink:

It sounds like you'd have to go straight from the airport, if you have enough boot space to store your luggage (so nothing is visable in the car) I would go for it and check in afterwards.

I agree with the PP's. Call the restaurant directly and make your reservation. They will have more times available and you don't have to give them your CC to hold the reservation!

Lately we have had a great deal of problems with airline delays. I would not try it. I would go with the suggestions of PP either buy a card for special seating or call the restaurant directly.

Wow, I have been unable to get a decent reservation for T-Rex since the first of March. I was stuck with 9:30 for dinner, a little too late for my kiddos. I just called the number above and got 7 pm. Yay!

Definitely call TRex. They don't give all of their reservations to Disney. I called them on a Friday around 4 pm to ask for a later reservation and they told me that they had pretty much everything available....I got one for 6:30. The other advantage of making a ressie directly with them is that there is no no-show fee if your plane happens to be delayed.

Does anyone know how far in advance you can book directly with TRex rather than through Disney? Going in September.

The other advantage to calling the restaurant directly is no $10 charge per person if you don't cancel 1 day in advance. Of course I am not advocating not cancelling if you know you can't make it just that if your flight is delayed and you know you won't make it you can call then and not have to worry about the possibility of still being charged because it is not a full day prior (I know YMMV with that charge but I am just talking general following the rule).

ETA: I called 180 days prior and got my reservations...so I called in January for July.

Sorry to repeat, more posts appeared after I posted....guess I had my reply box open for a long time!
