Love the housekeeping! It is so nice to come back to a freshened up room after a hot and tiring day at the parks!

We don't leave valuables in the room so no worry there.

I'm all about housekeeping while on vacation. We bought a vacation cabin and I've learned I spend TOO much of my time there cleaning!

Until the rates change so that we have the option of paying for it, I use it and enjoy it. If I could save money by eliminating it, I probably would.

Oh, and I try my best to keep it picked up, and free of stuff laying everywhere. I worked as a hotel maid when I was a teenager, and the hardest thing was working around everyone's stuff on the floor. (Or tons of trash on the floor...I don't know how people spend time in their own rooms wading through trash.) BTW, until you've worked that job, you would not believe the gross things some people leave in their rooms for the housekeeping to clean up, ugh!

I can understand going without housekeeping if staying in DVC but I don't quite get staying at a resort and requesting no housekeeping. If I were a dishonest person, being told not to enter a room is like a neon sign - something valuable is inside! As mousekeepers have a pass key, a do not disturb sign is not going to keep a dishonest person out. The same people who clean your room while you are there, also cleaned it before you arrived, so unless you bring your own towels, sheets, lysol, toilet brush, rags, etc. sit back enjoy DW and stop worrying about everything that might happen.

I have only ever had one bad experience with mousekeeping and I still love it. I love coming back after a long day at the parks and my bed be turned down with the chocolates on it. honestly the chocolates are my favorite part. haha

Housekeeping is part of what makes vacation great! I do feel that changing the towels and sheets everyday is wasteful, so I hang my towels up. But there's nothing like coming back to your room after a long day and having everything tidy.

It helps to spoil me, which is exactly what I'm looking for on vacation.

Are you kidding??? Housekeeping is one of the biggest things I enjoy about being on vacation! No beds to make, no toilet to scrub, etc. LOL!! I just LOVE coming in after a long day at the parks to find the room all tidy and made up. When we were at the Dolphin a few years ago, they actually came twice a day: once in the AM for a full cleaning and then again in the early evening for turndown service (chocolates on the pillows...sigh...) and soap/towel replenishing if needed. I thought I had died and gone to heaven!!

To me housekeeping is one of the reasons to stay at a hotel! As a young girl my family would go for 2 weeks to a motel in Niagara Falls,canada. My grandmother lived with us. When she first came over from Ireland she worked as a "domestic". She empathized with the housekeeping so she woud make my siblings and myself (8 in all) clean before the housekeeper could.

Of course, I think my Nana liked to talk to the housekeeper who was also an Irish immigrant. Ever since I have kept my room clean but I love to have someone else make up beds, take out the trash and vacuum.

Love the mousekeeping service. We are fairly tidy least have stuff off the floor and beds that doesn't belong there partly to keep items from gettin lost.

I've left a peice of paper I'd doodled on the table to find it still there when I returned tho. Now had that been something of value I think it would still have been there with the mousekeepers at disney not so sure about some other hotels I've stayed at but at disney I think they would respect others property not as if I have anything of value to even lock up in the safe. lol

We do usually request to mousekeeping for our room to be cleaned by noon so we are not disturbed during our afternoon break and at times when the mousekeeper has knocked on the door early mornin before we left for the park we've asked her to clean the room next door and then come do ours as we will be leaving shortly.

Love having the fresh towels I don't reuse towels at home why should I on vacation. Love the beds made up and the animals arranged around the room. We cheat and take our own disney character toys

I must be in the minority here, but I really don't care to have housekeeping come into my room, especially if I'm only there a few days. I would only expect clean sheets if the kids had an accident or sickness. I don't change mine at home any more than once a week. If the beds don't get made, well..they don't..I'm on vacation.

I also don't like the fact that a stranger is in my room looking at my belongings, yes, they are Disney employees, but they are human, things do get stolen.

So...I always refuse housekeeping and keep my room clean myself.

How many feel the way I do? It's okay if you don't, not looking to rifle any feather dusters

You sound like a perfect candidate for DVC. Have you considered it?

We also do not use housekeeping.
Not worried about theft. Just never like people in my room when I am gone.
My Daddy always requested "no service" when we traveled (60's and 70's).
So I have always done the same. I wondered if others did this too!!

For us housekeeping is a big part of a 'vacation'. We can do laundry and such at home. Not having to do any of that is a big aspect of what gives us the feeling of being 'away' from our every-day lives. Just MHO.

I leave my room very neat, everything is picked up and put away, beds are made. Yet I still like mousekeeping, I like my room refreshed. Trash emptied, clean towels and a quick vacuuming and dusting. Sinks and shower cleaned.

I have always had great Mousekeeping.
