I can do this...Karyn's journal to lose 20!

So you didn't have the best day - it wasn't THAT bad! And you are in the right mentality to get to your step class, which is great! ::yes:: I'm glad to hear you are back on track today. Remember, one bad day will not ruin you. It's only when that one bad day turns into a bad week, which turns into a bad month... You have already stopped that crazy train, so don't fret!!!

And one trick I've learned about working out (believe me, every day about an hour before I leave work I try talking myself out of it!) is that no matter how much you don't want to do it, afterwards you will never say "Boy, I wish I wouldn't have come, it wasn't worth it". You will most likely always be glad that you dragged yourself in and got it done! :goodvibes

Hang in there, you are still doing great!

OMG, you nailed it right on!!! Now those are words to live by and I am serious! Thank you.

Karyn -- I just wanted to stop in and congratulate you for being so diligent with your journaling. You must be so proud of yourself for signing up for Y classes. Congratulations! I wish I could force myself to make that commitment.

It was so smart of you to put away the scale. Sometimes we have to focus on how we feel and not what the scale is showing. I am losing so slowly, but I feel really great -- I hope you will feel that way too (when TOM leaves, of course! ;) )

Have a great day!

I'm not going to make it to step class tonight. I have a hernia that bothers me every once in a while, and it it is so painful tonight that I can hardly stand up. I did walk for about 2 miles this afternoon. The weather here in Iowa is absolutely perfect. I think it got up to about 65 today. Beautiful! :flower:

I have done pretty good eating. I need to sit down and recap so I know what I can eat for dinner.

Breakfast-Lean Pocket (4 pts)

Lunch-LC Salisbury Steak and Macaroni (6 pts)
broccoli and cheese (1 pt)

Snack-1/2 peanut butter sandwich (3 pts)

Total so far...14 pts...that leaves me 6 pts for dinner...not feeling too hot with the pain, but I may do a bowl of cereal when I get to feeling better in a little while.

Karyn, you really got back on track today, good for you! I wish it was 65 here in Denver today, we are at 90! Very smart not to attempt a step class if you are in pain. Have a great evening!

Glad you're feeling better! :) (well, except for the hernia - hope that's better tomorrow)

Karyn~
You are doing great! I hope that your hernia stops hurting! YOUCH!

Keep up the good work!

:goodvibes

I am starting out on the right foot today. I ate some frozen pancakes with a little syrup for breakfast. The serving size for syrup is 1/4 cup. That's a lot!! I didn't even use half of that, so I will count 1 pt for it. So...6 pts total for breakfast. That leaves 14 for the rest of the day. It's cool again today, but there is a chance of rain. I will probably stay in and do the stepper this morning. I'm feeling a lot better...I think the worst is behind me. Does anyone else get this sick during TOM? I am completely miserable for about 3 days. It's awful!!

I will probably do a turkey sandwich for lunch. I wanted lettuce for it, but (again) the lettuce looked awful! What is it about lettuce in the midwest? It never looks good! So, I'll do turkey and cheese. About 4 pts.

I hope everyone has a great day!! :flower1:

I'm glad to hear you are feeling better today! That TOM is just SO obnoxious! Some months I am on my deathbed and other months it is nothing more than a minor inconvenience. :confused3

Hang in there! Keep your eating under control and when you are no longer experiencing your hernia pain, ease back into your workouts.

65 for the high!?!?! :cold: It doesn't even get that cold for the low here!!! :sunny:

I did pretty well today. Had a moment of weakness this evening because I waited too long between meals, so by the time I ate dinner, I was starving. I ate a little more than I should have, but I don't feel too full, so I guess it's okay. I'll have to do better tomorrow.

Breakfast-pancakes (6 pts)

Lunch-Lean Pocket (6 pts)

Dinner-chicken pattie (6 pts), noodles (4 pts) and spaghetti sauce (2 pts)

snack-100 cal pack (2 pts)

Total...26 pts...too many...need to work harder tomorrow...should have eaten a lower point lunch and skipped the snack...I ate lunch at 11:00 and didn't eat again until dinner at 5:00...Maybe I can hold off tomorrow and eat lunch around 12:00...I'll try that. Oh my goodness, I just noticed that I ate NO veggies today...That just won't work...I have got to do better

I find getting too hungry is my downfall too - then I'm bound to make bad choices. Good luck tomorrow! :)

Well it's good that you learned a few things from yesterday. Today should be much much better.

Hope you are feeling better and will be able to get back to your exercise!

Get those veggies in! They really do make good snacks. Other than that, you didn't eat bad foods! No harm done and you already have the right mentality to move on, good for you!

How are your workouts going? Do you love Pilates?

I will never learn. I cooked spinich and cheese tortellini for lunch. Sooooo good. I started out with a small amount...and ended up getting seconds. I must not have needed the seconds, because I am too full now and I am feeling bad. Will I EVER get it together????? :confused3 Does not look like I'll be needing dinner tonight. I am still full from eating at 12:00. THAT WAS 5 HOURS AGO!! Yep, I ate too much. My food slapper must be on vacation or something. Anywho. I probably ended up around 26 pts today if I figured correctly. I should have spread them out a little better!! There's always tomorrow...and the next day...and the next day... :flower:

I must be doing something right! I put on a pair of shorts that I haven't been able to wear since our WDW trip in June, and they slid right on!! :cool1: The pilates and step classes begin on the 1st and I can hardly wait!! I should really be able to tell a difference then. I could have gone for a free class last week, but that was when I was feeling so bad. I can't wait to see what pilates is like.

I started out with a breakfast Lean Pocket this morning. DH ate my last cheese pizza Lean Pocket last night, so I don't know what I'll do for lunch. I have to take Jack for a haircut today (that's always fun-Jack HATES having his hair cut!) and the temptation to eat out will be there. I'm going to TRY to resist and eat at home. :flower:

Karyn, I have been busy at work and a little AWOL. It sounds like you are heading in the right direction. Its the small little things like clothes fitting that keep us going. You are such a trooper. I started an online fitness program this week that I think will get me over the hump.

Keep up the great work and remember...fruits, veggies and WATER!!!!

That is great news....isn't is wonderful when you can fit into smaller clothes!

Keep up the great work

Congratulations Karyn! It is so nice to be rewarded for hard work. Before you know it those shorts will be too big! Have a great weekend, good luck with the haircut. My son is almost 11 and still hates having his haircut!

Yeah, the haricut was a disaster. Jack has pictures at school on Tuesday, and he is going to have to go with a buzz-type haircut. It was the only way to salvage it!! Oh, well, at least it will take longer to grow out! His hair grows really fast...but not fast enough for his picture.

I have done reasonably well today, but we are getting Chinese tonight.

Breakfast-Lean Pocket (4 pts)

Lunch-turkey and cheese sandwich (4 pts) and some Pringles chips (3 pts)

No snack so far today...I have 9 pts for the rest of the day, so I probably won't go over too much. I still have a good many flex points for the week. I used a few yesterday, so I will have to be really good the rest of the week. I hope to get to journals on Monday...I like to spend as much time as I can with the kids on Saturday and Sunday!! Will check back in with the damage done tonight! :flower:

I did so-so with the Chinese food! I didn't eat too much of the rice and only ate about 5 pieces of sesame chicken. I would have been very proud of myself if I hadn't dove into the doughnuts headfirst. I haven't had a doughnut in sooooo long. But, that's all for today and it wasn't all that bad. Tomorrow will be Sunday, and I always do good on Sunday. I won't eat out again this week, so I should be okay when I weigh on Tuesday morning. :flower:

Karyn~
You are doing great! Chinese food is hard...there really isn't much that you can eat without a lot of calories. I think you did great! Have a great Sunday!
