I wanted to decorate our room/door for my DD5 birthday. We are staying at BWV and just wanted to make sure that this is ok. Also are there any rules to follow? I'm thinking of obvious things like no profanity, don't do anything that will leave a permanent mark, don't block the hallway, etc. Anything else I should be aware of? Any tips?

I've seen doors decorated at the value resorts, but I've never come across it at the deluxe hotels. I don't know if that's because of a Disney rule, or if there is something different about the doors.

DVC resorts like BWV don't permit decorations on the doors; sorry.

You're welcome to decorate inside the room. You're correct in that you shouldn't do anything that will leave a permanent mark; I would also stay away from anything that will require additional effort from housekeeping to clean up - guests have reported being billed for that additional cleaning.

That's interesting because when we stayed at VWL this past Christmas, lots of doors were decorated. I guess not decorating is the rule but not everyone follows it???

DVC has asked members not to put up any decorations that show outside of the villa. That includes the door. It would be nice if people followed the rules.

I understand not wanting people to decorate. Although it is interesting that for a lot of money WDW floral does.

Disney Floral should hopefully know what to use so the door isn't messed up and no codes are broken. And if they do mess up the guest isn't responsible

You can't use adhesives on the doors, it damages the paint. You will not be able to stick anything to them. Lately in the value resorts I have seen windows decorated, but not doors. If the doors are metal, you may be able to use printable magnets on them.

I feel the same way about speed limits.... and using head lights when appropriate.... not to mention turn signals

Many drivers feel these things are optional apparently
