I buy everything on ebay. I have had all good experiences, expect for one, but I bid on an auction that had some nagative feedback so I should've known better. Anyway, we are on such a tight budget I had to save money on tickets somehow. I got 2 AD and 1 Ch 5 day hopper plusses for 651.00 plus shipping. It is a great price, but now I am so nervous. The person has been an ebayer for 2 years and has over 75 positive feedbacks. I emailed her several times with several questions and she answered all to my satisfaction so I bought them, but now I am reading on the board about some people having problems etc. I just want to hear from others who have bought on ebay...the good the bad and the ugly!!! Thanks

Sounds like you should be okay. I would think if she's been selling for 2 years anyway. Did she say why she was selling them?

the only problem could be when you get there and there are no days on the passes and there is no way to tell until you get to WDW. Good luck and I truly hope it works for you.

I think there should be a way for Disney to tell you if there are any days left on the ticket. We found 2 PH tickets with our vacation info and DH thinks there's one day left on each. I'm not sure. We intend to call Disney and see if they can give us that info if we give them the numbers on the card. We do have our receipt.

Has anyone ever questioned Disney about days left on PH's.

NHBelle, I'm sending you PD.

Disney does not have anumber for you to call to chekc on how many days are left on passes.
The only way to tell is to take the passes to a Guest Services desk at the parks and have them read the passes.
Of course, if they do that, they have access to all the information in their computer about those passes. Not only days left, but also when and where they were purchased, when the days were used and at what parks and possibly the credit card that was used to purchase them.
They used to have a phone number you could call, but they discontinued it.

I have gone to guest services and they were very happy to check the # of days left. Do not inquire at the resorts, I did this and was told I had nothing left when I really did have days left. I think the CM wasn't familiar with the type of pass because it was so old, fortunately I had the foresight to check at guest relations.

Disney will not verify remaining days on tickets over the phone--and it's likely for the very reason that prompted this post. DWD park tickets are intended to be used by a single individual, whether it's during one trip or a half-dozen. However, there is a secondary market for those who have used park hoppers and would rather sell the unused days rather than hang onto the passes for a future trip.

As it stands now, purchasers must rely on the honor (and memory) of anyone selling a used pass. If you see a post on eBay for a 7-Day PHP with 3 days remaining, you have only that person's word that there are actually 3 days left. Even the most honorable of eBay-ers may forget how many unused days are actually on the passes they want to sell.

If Disney had a phone line that could be used to verify the status of partially-used passes, certainly it would be a benefit to many of honorable guests who simply want to know the status of their old pass. But in the process they would be subsidizing growth of a secondary market for used passes. In the end we, the consumer, would end up paying the costs for Disney's lost revenues in the form of higher new ticket prices.

If the seller has all positive feedback then I wouldn't worry. Your best bet would have been to pay with a credit card just in case, but I wouldn't fret if the seller has been with Ebay for 2 years with all positives.

I'm sure you'll be fine!

But, if you get to WDW and the tickets are not good, you are out $651 plus shipping. And you will have to buy new tickets. So if you are on a budget, you may be up a creek.

I agree wholeheartedly. OP could have gotten the same 3 passes (2 adult, 1 child) from Paramount International Travel for $668 plus shipping. Would have been worth the extra $17 in my mind.

I bought 1 adult and 2 children 1 day hopper passes in April on e-bay and they were fine. Actually bought some (3 same) plus passes also on e-bay and couldn't use them. I looked and the positives and negs also. Was I nervous yep but didn't stress about it. Good luck, I for one would like to know how it turns out when you come back.

And I'm sure that's the way that the vast majority of the transactions go. But I personally wouldn't even put myself in the position of being on the receiving end of a bad transaction. Last thing I need to start my vacation is to find out that passes for my family either don't work at all, or have fewer days remaining than advertised. For three guests, that's a quick way to end up spending $150 (per day) while trying to save $20.

Even if you're dealing with an eBay-er who has glowing feedback, how do you know, with certainty, that even the ticket seller has a clear memory of the days remaining? Even the holder of the ticket cannot tell what is on the pass without having it verified by WDW in Orlando. I'd hate to buy a ticket that purports to have 4 days remaining, only to find out later that the owner forgot about a quick stop he/she made into the Magic Kingdom on their departure day.

Just my $.02...

We bought 7 day plus 5 passes from Paramount Travel earlier this year and before we left the area I wanted to verify how many days we had left on each ticket. This would also be my way of verifying that Paramount Travel sold us what they said they were. The Guest Relations counter at Old Key West agreed to check our tickets but it was very slow. She explained to me that she had to type in each number on the ticket and the guest relations at each of the parks had scanners that could read the tickets. This would be faster and more accurate. I had the OKW CM check a couple of the passes then went ahead and had guest relations at Magic Kingdom check the others. So I wrote down what we had left on the passes and that way in case we aren't able to use them for several years (but hope it is sooner than that) I will be able to know how many days are left.

I have bought quite a few tickets on ebay and knock on wood, had no problems whatsoever.

I, as mentioned, buy from people with good feedback.

I even had a couple tickets when checked that had more then we thought!

I think if someone were going to pull a scam on ebay they wouldnt do it with Disney tickets especially if they have otherwise good feedback. I think most are sincere and if there were a problem like them making a mistake on the days left, would work something out with you.

I don't know if you bought those from the seller name jmuhammad99, if you did - that's me (because I just sold mine for that price - I think. They are fine. I had so many days of my tickets because a friend of the family gave us several free tickets to Seaworld and Bush Gardens - so we only did one day disney. If its me don't worry I have all positive feedback because I want people happy - the way I want to feel when I buy stuff from others. Enjoy!!!!! Also, just as a hint I would not buy tickets from a person if they are not going to be used within 90 days because you can't give feedback or report them after that time. And I believe ebay only keeps it in there system for 30 days. :smooth:

One footnote on the "You should be OK if they have positive feedback" comments. My guess is that most, as is normal with eBay buyers, feedback is left after the product arrives in the hands of the buyers. You know the comments... "Good communications", "prompt shipment", "item as described", "wold buy from again", etc. I doubt that in the case of WDW tickets people wait until they return from their vacation before they leave feedback. Once you leave feedback, you can't amend it later if you discover a problem. I'd bet you could easily rip someone off with "empty" park hoppers and still maintain a 100% positive rating on eBay.

As others have added, placing that much money at risk for savings that often times only amounts to less than a 10% discount off of Disney's prices doesn't make a lot of sense. Even more so when you compare the eBay prices to some of the deals you can get from legitimate ticket outlets.

On another cautionary note, a CM who works the front gate at MK posted a couple of days ago on the parks board that they've had to turn away a good number of families because they've purchased Military Salute 5-day PH passes that have been re-sold. That's a nice profit for the original buyers!

I buy and sell a lot on eBay, some people are not trustowrthy but most are. As for your impression that you got a great price, you could have gotten the same buy for $668 plus shipping from Paramount Travel. That is only $17 more and you would be assured of getting what you ordered with no reason to be nervous. Tix on eBay rarely turn into the type of bargain you can get with other things. eBay is a scalper's paradise.

Paramont 4 day plus tickets are $211 for adults and $169 for children..which is $591 plus $15 for shipping (If I have the correct board). She paid $545, plus $5 shipping..so her savings is $56. Seems like a lot for the tickets from eBay, but I don't know how many pluses are on either ticket...or if in fact the ebay ticket has pluses.

I have sold tickets on eBay (Universal) and the people waited to leave feedback until they used the tickets.

Actually you can post a followup comment if something were to happen with the tickets when you tried to use them..it wont change it to a negative rating but the comments will be there if people persue it to read them.
