Oh, I feel your pain. I tried home waxing kits before with results that were not too pretty. And let me just say that it wasn't my eyebrows I was waxing either. Nuff said. And now under my bathroom sink is a graveyard where hair removal products (nearly brand new and used just once) go to die.
I would recommend that you dont try to "fix" your eyebrows yourself. Pay to have an expert correct what they can. They might now be the best, but it will be much better for them to correct them than for you to try on your own.
I had a bout with Alopecia some years back and lost all my eye brows and lashes so I really feel your pain about looking like Whoopi. After you see a professional about correcting what they can, I would invest in a good eye brow pencil. My lashes grew back, but not all of my brows so I still pencil in to fill the bald spots.
