I'll bet they stopped over for the New Media Expo in Vegas today and tomorrow... it is all about podcasting and vid casting, etc. This while they are on the way to DL.

If the cast is in fact at New Media Expo... find the Stickam Booth, explain who you are to the guy sitting next to the tricaster (the director that is switching cameras) and see if you can get a segment with Leo.

I love Leo's podcasts. Apple should pay Pete and Leo a commission on all the iPods they've gotten people to buy. :goodvibes

to be fair... Leo has a slightly larger audience. It would really rock to see Pete on leo's show though.

at the risk of sounding totally out of touch...who is Leo? And how do I sample his podcast? Via iTunes?

Count me in as one who purchased an iPod nano just to listen to the Dis podcast and ordered my iPod Touch Wed. to check the boards while on the go! I vote for a commission for the Dis.....maybe they could give away a couple more crusies?

Leo Laporte is a smart guy. I was first introduced to him on Tech TV with the show 'The Screen Savers' in the late 90's early 2000's but that was more PC based.

His podcast can be found on the iTunes store under Leo Laporte - The Tech Guy. Check it out, you will learn some great stuff.

Las Vegas in August :faint: It's HOT!

Thankfully, the casinos are always a comfortable 72 degrees! :rotfl:

Yeah, I was thinking they were at Disneyland. I remember hearing Julie mention that on the show a couple weeks ago. She was saying that she was talking about California all the time, and then the crew was going to go to Disneyland in August. That was right before Kevin said he was going to keep talking about Disneyland Paris in the hopes that they would be able to go there.

Rex - are you in LV?

nope, couldn't make it out there for the show this year, other silly stuff going on...

but to Answer the question of "Who is Leo"... He is netcasting. Before there were Podcasts he was there. He has done Radio and TV for 30 plus years, he has been the technology correspondent for a variety of news TV shows, has had his own TV and Radio shows and is currently doing about 40 hours of live streaming to the web a week of various shows that he produces. I plan on using similar technology to do live audio/video streaming with chat for my next major fun adventure trip to WDW.

He is at the forefront of creating internet communities along with interactive audience participation via the internet.

He is broadcasting live from the New Media Show in las vegas right now at twitlive.tv

Gee, the crew didn't tell anyone where they were going? What? Pete doesn't want phone calls into his hotel room from his loyal fans? :rotfl:

Well, I hope they are back in Disneyland! DL is my favorite of all the US Disney parks and Pete could talk for hours about it and I would listen with rapt attention.

Wouldn't mind hearing more about Napa Rose either. Pete & Walter could go back and see if anything improved since their last visit.

It sure would be fun to drive over to meet the gang. They should really do that sometime when they come out. Have a small un official gathering at the Napa Lounge or the Hearthstone. I know we would go, just to say hi. It's only on the other side of town!:thumbsup2

Take a look at TWIT (This week in Tech) and MacBreak Weekly. Both are interesting. Leo's doing a bunch of podcasts. I think twit.tv is his homepage with all the podcasts he does.

Leo's incorporating some ads into his shows. I've often thought if Pete wanted to add any advertising to the podcast, it wouldn't be terrible after listening to the way Leo integrates the sponsors so smoothly in. (I actually enjoy his commercials for Audible and Drobo.)

I just can't figure out why they wouldn't ever want stalker!;)

Gee, I sure wish Disneyland were just on the other side of town for me! I can't help but be GREEN with envy!

Looks like Rex was right about being in Vegas, but Pete is home now. Stay safe through the storm!

I used to commute from here to Schaumberg/Hoffman Estates on a regular basis for work.... I feel your pain. At least on my very last trip up before getting laid off, I did get to visit the Doorway to Dreams. That was fun!

I won't throw in that I almost took my girls to DL for a few hours today.... The plan was supposed to be in by 11 out by 3 to avoid traffic.... maybe tomorrow, depending on what happens. Oops - I'm feeling the love in the room right now..... :rolleyes1
