I bet can eat more than you - 3 weeks of Disney food and fun LIVE AS IT HAPPENS!

Great updates! I'm glad that your flight to Orlando was only late an hour, that could have been a huge disaster! Food looks yummy so far! I can't wait for more... :)

Very glad to see you made it safe! Hooray that you have begun your trip. 3 weeks is a great and wonderfully proper Disney vacation in my opinion. I think I might mention that to my DP that we should perhaps rethink 6 days. :worship:

:yay: Day 2 at the Boardwalk...

Woke early again, DH was also awake so we decided to walk along the path to DHS. We ambled along and arrived at the turnstiles at 8.45. Except we couldn't even see the turnstiles - it was very busy. DH immediately started planning a commando style run to Toy Story but I reminded him that I cannot run in Crocs without falling over. We went straight to TSMM at rope drop and got fastpasses, then joined the standby line, already at 30 minutes :scared1:

The queue area was quite entertaining and the line moves quickly, we particularly liked Mr. Potato Head who did remove his ear once. The ride it itself was excellent, I could see what I was shooting at, unlike on Buzz and managed to hit a decent amount of targets. My score was 69,700 and DH scored 90,somethingorother. We had another go with the fastpasses straight away and both beat our previous scores. I managed 105,200 second time round :woohoo:

We were getting hungry by the time we had finished so DH suggested we go to Sci fi for lunch. We did have a Plaza ADR that we cancelled and then went to the dining reservations hut to book, we ended up with 50's Prime Time as we already had an ADR of Sci fi later on and I had always wanted to try 50's.

Our server was cousin Mark and he was very grumpy but good fun. Got told off several times for elbows on the table! I had chicken pot pie:
10082008florida015.jpg
which was yummy and there was no way I could finish it. It had a least half a chicken in it and plenty of veggies. There was also a pastry square underneath it all as well as the top.
DH opted for a ham sandwich, there were 2 but he ate one before the camera could get them:
10082008florida014.jpg

We were both too full for dessert so we opted out.

After this we ambled back to the Boardwalk having just missed a boat dammit. Had a swim in the Luna Park pool and then went for a nap. We had to pick a car up at the Dolphin so we went and had a game of crazy golf at the Fairways before our collect time. Crazy being the word, the course was very difficult and I didn't do too well, it was also very hot. We drove our car back to the Boardwalk and then walked to Epcot. We had a ride on Nemo, looked round the aquarium (turtle nowhere to be seen  ) and then trundled round World Showcase. Rode with the trolls in Norway and headed back to our room via the bakery for more cake etc. The pie had finished me off for the day so a cinnamon roll was as good as I could do :thumbsup2

Swam again, sat in the hot tub and chatted to a few people for a while. Crashed out for the night again, still adjusting to the time difference but it's getting better. Didn't eat much today except the huge pie and snacks. DH the same. Cop out day for food but with temps in the 100s food wasn't a huge concern.

Aquatica and Sea World - with an all you can eat band

Was picking up a car at the Dolphin easy? We are thinking of renting a car on our next journey to WDW.

I cannot wait to try 50's Primetime. I just might get that pot pie too! It looks fabulous!

That blue icing cupcake really looks yum-cious! My kind of breakfast :rotfl2: My DBFF's daughter & grandson were there this last week and are leaving today - I haven't heard anything from them as to what the weather was like but sounds like it was hot when you were there!

Am really enjoying your report! Looking forward to more :surfweb:

Thanks for the updates - really enjoying your TR and the pix:thumbsup2
I just finished lunch - but I think I could eat both a cinnamon roll and a cupcake with blue icing!

Yes it was easy to pick the car up. We walked across from the Boardwalk to the Dolphin and picked up our PT Cruiser. We used it to get to Sea World and then drove it back after we had checked in at Wilderness Lodge. Cheaper to book on the internet than anywhere else I think.

After reading how busy Aquatica can get and the heads up in this thread ;) we decided to head over there at a sensible time. We checked out of the Boardwalk and drove across to I-Drive. The car park was looking VERY busy when we arrived at quarter past nine

I saw the slides and was not a happy bunny. Open stairs freak me out big time and these were high :scared1: I thought I might as well give it a try so we went for the HooRoo Run (long slide with big rafts like Teamboat Springs). It has no curves but lots of bumps and by the time we got to the top I was white knuckled from hanging on to the railings. I sat down in the raft and the guy seeing the rafts away asked who wanted to go backwards, I pointed at DH - the getting up the stairs had been trauma enough. The mean guy decides to spin it round and send it off with me going backwards. It was fun but quite scary as I had no idea where I was going. After this we went on the Taumata Racer, stairs were a trauma again but wider so not quite as bad. The slide is 8 lanes and you ride on a mat on your front (like Toboggans at BB) but is curly and ends with a large drop. Again good fun was had by all involved. Now it was time for food...

We decided the all you can eat wristband was a promising way to go so we went in for breakfast. This was pastries, cereals and fruit. Camera was in the locker at this point so no piccies but we both had cereals and juice and croissants.

After eating we had a go in the Roa's Rapids. They provided lifejackets for weak swimmers, there were plenty so we got one for the hell of it. It was great! No swimming needed just pick your legs up and fly along. The water moved very quickly and weak swimmers would defintely need a lifejacket, it wasn't deep but the currents were very strong. After a dip in the wave pool (same as everywhere else's) and a slide on the Whanau Way tube ride (fast, brutal stairs and embarassing exit - falling out of tube in an undignified manner) we got changed out of our swimming stuff and had another plate of food.

After lunch we headed over to Sea World and saw the penguins, whales, dolphins etc and ate more food, between us we ate 2 fruit bowls, chicken sandwich, salad, cookies, sweet potato chips (I would be content with just a bucket of these) and pizza. And chicken strips and fries. We waddled back to the Renaissance Hotel and checked in; we were on the 10th floor and the lifts were glass :scared1: I hid in DH's armpit for the ride up only to find the walkways were open with railings, I crawled along the floor to our room. The room was very nice and spacious but too high for me but only for 1 night. It was 11pm so I was ready to crash anyways, so I did.

Sea World again and We're in Melbourne to see Ron White! :woohoo:

I followed your link from my acrophobia thread. I can't wait for your Narcoossee's review & especially more info on your great meal at Artist Point. We too love AP, but were thinking we'd try one of the monorail restaurants we haven't been to. Your post on my thread is making me think we should maybe go back to AP instead. ;)

BTW, I now know that I won't be going to Aquatica. All those open stairways..... :scared1:

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that you CAN'T skip dessert again. That's my favorite course & I want to see all the fabulous pics. ::yes::

Oh I do so agree! With all those stairs, you DESERVED dessert!

Sea World again. Is it just me or is the map of this park impossible to follow without going round in circles  Arrived just after 9 and went straight to Kraken and waited about 5 minutes for it. Forgot how much I liked this ride, it was a good way to wake up! After DH wanted to go on Journey to Atlantis so I reluctantly follwed him into the queue. We were about 2 away from getting into the boat when the announcement comes on "Journey to Atlantis is closed due to inclement weather, we cannot advise how long it will be closed for. If you are inside the queue building we adivse you to stay put etc etc" so we stayed put and waited 15 mins or so then it opened again. We sat in the front and got drenched. This was at 10am and I was not happy about spending the rest of the day in a soggy state. At least Crocs dry quick :lmao:

We saw the animals again and then saw the show with the trapezes and dolphins (can't remember the name) which was very cleverly put together. We sat in the sun in an attempt to dry out a little. No all you can eat bands today as we were leaving early to get to Melbourne. We had lunch at the healthy options place
My lunch, a chicken and veggie sandwich with sweet potato chips:

DH's lunch, some sort of salad and fruit

We trawled round some more Sea World attractions and about 5pm left for Melbourne. It took about 2 hours to drive there, we checked into our hotel about 7ish. The show didn't start till 10.30pm so we had a nap, then had a swim in the hotel pool. Well maybe a quick dip would be more apt - it was freezing cold so we spent some time in the hot tub thawing out. Went to Wendys for dinner, I miss them since they took them out of the UK. We both enjoyed a baconator meal but DH had the large version.

We got to the theatre where Ron was playing and took our seats, we had a great view of the stage despite being quite a way back (row LL). We both had a snack (me candied almonds, DH chocolate raisins) to eat during the show. The warm up act (Alex somebody) was quite funny but Ron was :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I was sore from laughing by the end of his set. We got back to our room at about 1am, I was asleep by about 1.05am, I think DH might have beaten me to it. It had been a long day but so worth it :)

Off topic, but I had to click on this report. Knew you were going to be from UK with the name Percy. My dad's middle name is Percy. His family called him that (and still does). Family originated from England a few generations before him.
Glad to finally meet (well you know what I mean) another Percy!
Thanks for the report.

Deb

How did you like seaworld?
We are thinking of going in jan.

Sea World was really good, but it takes some planning to see everything. There are lots of shows and it took us 2 days to see them all. Lots of animals to see as well and 2 rides as well. It may be quieter in Jan so less waiting for shows. We arrived at most 30 minutes before kick off as they filled up quite quick, I would recommend the Pets Ahoy show especially if you like animals. Wear comfy shoes as this is one BIG park.

It's awesome to see the other attractions. I too am excited about visiting Sea World. I hope it's still there next year!

Got up late as Ron didn't shut up till half past midnight, we got to bed after 1am. No alarm was set for next morning! We left Melbourne around 11am and went to Denny's for breakfast. I had pancakes and bacon and DH had a breakfast platter, he definitely won, there were three pancakes and I could only eat one. His plate was cleaned. After eating we set off for VWL.

We checked in at VWL and got our room, the last one on the highest floor of the villas. It was a nice quiet room but we did have a view of the laundry trucks but we weren't there for the view. We had a present on our bed:
10082008florida125.jpg

We then set off for our ADR at San Angel over at Epcot. We were seated immediately and looked at the menu - the appetisers were difficult to choose. I had a corn cake with black beans, I wasn't sure if I would like it but it was yummy:
florida140808006.jpg

DH chose a shrimp cocktail which he enjoyed. It was very different to ones that we are used to - lots of coriander (cilantro) and not much lettuce.4
florida140808005.jpg

We were so happy to get our entrees that we started to eat before I could snap them! We had finished and I said oh no! I had chicken with peppers and onions in a cheese sauce which was gorgeous. Juicy chicken breast with lots of veggies. My only gripe was that the sauce was a little too spicy for me. DH had steak which he enjoyed muchly. There wasn't much left of it. We both chose the same dessert:
florida140808009.jpg

A white chocolate mousse in a brandy snap basket with berries. Very very yum.

After lunch we did SE again so DH could choose the options at the end. We did Nemo and the seas and Crush and wandered around the world before getting to Coral Reef for dinner. Still quite full from lunch this would be a challenge but hey it's food right?!!

My dinner:
florida140808015.jpg

Strip steak with potato gratin and broccolini - excellent steak sorry I had started to eat it!
florida140808015.jpg

DH chose something a bit outside his comfort zone - mahi mahi with rice. He doesn't like much fish except cod and tuna so he was pushing the boat out a bit here (pardon the pun)
florida140808016.jpg

Dessert was a key lime pie for me:
florida140808017.jpg

DH got the chocolate wave:
florida140808018.jpg

A fun and food filled day was had by all. We walked out of a deserted Epcot which was weird. No one around excpet a squirrel and the odd CM cleaning up and directing stragglers home. The bus was empty :thumbsup2 so we could at least sit down and not sway around the bus full of dinner. We had a swim on our return to WL, well maybe a walk round the pool and a sit in the hot tub. Had a quick shower and called it a night.

Up next:
O'hana and Narcoosee's and MK again.
