I am writing this from my laptop! One of the perks of owning a business is convincing your business partner to get us laptops!

New Macbook Pro! Mac devotees will understand, windows junkies will not.

15 inch 2.8ghz 4gb ram and 500gb hard drive.

And it is a Mac!

Nice!!! My son is a tried and true Mac junkie. Macs are all he uses and he builds and maintains websites for a living. He has me convinced to go Mac next time I have the need to replace my laptop. Enjoy!!

Congrats! I moved from PC to Mac last year, and the build quality is just phenomenal.

Regarding Windows vs OSX, IMO it is 6 of one, and half a dozen of another. There are things that OSX does that make me marvel, but then there are things that I believe Windows does so much better (and I peaked out with Vista). In the end I'm happy with what I have now. I'd installed Windows on Parallel Desktop, and after a couple months deleted it because I never used it. And that was my answer, I suppose.

if only there were not so darn expensive I would think about getting one but until the prices come down windows based ones are the ones for me

Congrats!!! I switched to Mac last year and have not looked back. Excellent machines! I bought two, a 21.5 inch iMac, and a 13 inch MacBook Pro. Gonna get my daughter a MacBook soon.

Sure Windows does some things just fine, but Apple products are built solid and I love the security. If only I could get my employer to change to Macs!!!

I have an Iphone which I'm on right now. Does that count as having a Mac........lol

Congrats on the new laptop.

Actually, if you compare feature for feature Windows PCs and Macs are pretty close to the same price, and sometimes Macmall makes Macs a little cheaper. What you get with Windows based machines that you don't see with Macs are the really inexpensive HPs and such that are found at Best Buy and the like. There's nothing wrong with those, I've had a few, and they fill a market niche that Macs aren't interested in. When I bought my Macbook Pro 17", the comparable Dells, Lenovos and Sonys were all within $100.

Sweet. My wife will be upgrading to a Mac at the end of summer. There are some software she uses for school that operate better with a Mac than on Windows.

When my computer dies I will be upgrading to the iMac. I'm done with Window's.

As for the prices.... they have come down a lot in the last few years. The iMac desktop 21.5" right now is only $200 more than I paid for my current system 2 years ago. The 13" MacBook's are $999. Sure you can get Window's based laptops for a lot less, but you get what you pay for. A comparable Window's laptop isn't much less than the Macbooks.

Congrats on the new puter!

I looked long and hard at Macs last year when Vista was the scourge of the PC world. All of my non-techy friends with Macs loved them and about half of my techy friends with Macs loved them. After my experiences with iTunes and my iPhone (both of which I hate), I decided that I would probably not be in the "love" camp. I'm just glad that Steve still lets his customers put whatever they want on their Macs, unlike the iPod/Pad products.

I hear what your saying Mark, and I will admit Macs are not perfect. However, as an iPhone (my second one BTW) and multiple iPod owner, they and iTunes work much, much better on a Mac than a PC.

Mark Thank!

i greatly agree with the comment that ipods and iphones work better on a mac. I am on my second mac laptop and use a pc and Imac at home. Photoshop and NX2 work better on the mac then the pc.

I use pc exclusively at work but will be logging into server from the mac at home.

Yum. I love my MBP. Seriously. I will be buried with this machine.
Congrats on the new purchase!
