Well we are booked to go to pop century 14 nights with DDP and tickets in sept.

I am so tempted to use DVC points and go on a 4 night disney cruise.

has anyone booked a room for 14 nights and then disappeared for a bit, leaving luggage behind.

Already got an idea so not to waste DDP, by booking a few signature dinning using 2 credits for each meal.

Has anyone been on the 4 night cruise.

I have booked my upcoming trip through VH and my cruise with Dreams. With VH it worked out best to do 3 nights at the resort then 4 nights independent stay (whilst on the cruise) then 7 nights back at the resort. That way we did not have to pay for rooms we were not using. DIsney will also store your luggage whilst on the cruise.

Dh was thinking about packing a cruise bag and leave the other bags in the room.

Might try and talk DH around tonight and book it tomorrow fingers crossed. :)

lucky you let us know if you have

Sounds like a great idea, I can`t see it would be a problem with POP though you could phone and ask.
We`ve done a 4 night cruise and loved it -Nassau isn`t up to much, we just got off the ship for an hour and DH didn`t get off at all. Visiting Castaway Cay is what its all about - what a fabulous place!
It will be very hot on the cruise though - just a thought.

Yes. DD and I did just that back in May 2005. We arrived at the Beach Club and the following day went on our 3 night DCL cruise leaving all our spare luggage in the room for that time. We let the desk know and returned to spend another 7 nights at the resort... :thumbsup2

I think that a cruise would be great fun - add a different dimension to your holiday :)

I haven't done the 4 night Disney Cruise, but have done the 7 night and it was great. Do price up the various options (as Jocky siggested) - to see what works out cheaper in your particular case.

Depends how much luggage you have - you could probably get away with one case and your carry-on bags for a 4 night cruise. Remember your formal wear for formal night :)

Thanks boo,

We have paid for the 14 night stay already.

We will use our 250dvc points and we have banked 37 from last year.
disney have got a fall offer on and it works out 290 for a cat7 room.

too good to give up, as we wont go back to WDW till aug 08 and buy then we will have another 250 points for that holiday.

What type of formal wear do we need

You will have a wonderful time! :thumbsup2 We're doing a 7 night Western Caribbean cruise in September - can't wait!!!! :woohoo:

Formal wear is up to you - some people wear full evening gear, others opt for a more relaxed approach. I tend to wear a long skirt, coordinating strappy top and a cardigan or wrap. That and some sparkly fashion jewellery works for me... Take a look on the DCL forum - this is a bit of a hot topic. :rolleyes1

Sounds that you are all sorted then. If I was you, I would do it - a cruise is special :)

As for formal nights, as CustardTart says, it can be quite "contraversial".... You would only have one formal night on a 4 night cruise. Some people go for the full "tux and ballgown" thing and others vary quite considerably. Some people see the formal night as a "dress code", others see it as "recommended dress", others just completely ignore it. It isn't just Disney - it is contraversial on most cruise lines... (not many people actually like to "dress-up" any more...). We tend to go "middle of the road" - husband wears a dark suit and tie, I wear a cocktail dress (normally a LBD...) or similar. Pretty much as we would wear for a very posh restaurant... Husband did wear a tux on out first cruise (a DCL cruise), but probably only 10/15% of men were in tuxes, so he felt a little "overdressed". Formal night is a great opportunity to be a bit dressy and to have a very nice "formal" photo taken of you and your partner/family.

Hi

We did this at the All Stars 2 years ago, had 3 nights, then a 4 night Disney cruise and then another 7 nights back at the All Stars, we left behind in the room at the All Stars everyting we didnt need for the cruise, told the staff at reception and they said that was fine. We just took one large case and our carry on's for the 4 night cruise. Have a wonderful time:thumbsup2

Pop over to the cruise section here and read my trip report called Beauty and the Beast ( and lindy loo ) too !

We did a 4 night cruise in Oct 06 it was FANTASTIC!!!!! we are now doing a 7 nighter this Oct.

Ah, the one with a "cut out porthole balcony" (i.e. you have a balcony space, but it isn't completely open)? That sounds great - a lot of people really like them: you get that outside space, but it is more protected from the elements (like the wind etc) :)

You will have a fab time :)

Boo

Well done PJ

We are off on our first cruise in Sept too, staying in a Cat 7
