I am thinking it's Toyko Disneyland for the EBAY thing!!!! NVM Thanks to Pink!

What did you submit as your answer? I was thinking that I've never noticed those buildings behind the castle in the contest picture. Does anyone have a pic from the same viewpoint that shows those buildings? I'm thnking you may be right, but I don't know what to do. :confused3

It's not Tokyo. The side of Tokyo looks a lot different from the picture on Ebay.

I know you have been discussing the location of the castle on ebay
but i noticed that the castle has a ramp on the front.
please look at this link i found on the Tokyo castle, look at the picture that
has Walt and Mickey in the forground :confused3

http://www.tdrfan.com/tdl/fantasyland/general_info/castle.htm

and then i looked at the WDW Castle and it looks like there is not a ramp to the front, you have to go to each side to go up to the stage. :confused3

just wanted your opinion
also found this link of a building behing the tokyo castle it is the Aristocats shop
http://www.tokyodisneyresort.co.jp/tdl/english/7land/fantasy/shop_aristo.html

However, take note of the odd shaped tower to the right of the picture (just left of the tall tree at the far right). You can just make out the spade shape at the top of the tower and the flag pole with a white flag. I looked up a number of Tokyo castle pictures and none shows the odd shaped tower. Also, Tokyo castle has what appear to be two free-standing towers at the front and those do not appear in the contest picture. I did find a photo of the Disney World castle with the spade-shaped tower and white flag.

Yeah that is definetely not Tokyo. The picture on the link looks exactly like it. Tower, building, landscaping and all.

Thanks DeluxePrincess. That shows the odd shaped tower beautifully as well as the right angle.

I think you are right but I can't quite place the area of the park where the EBAY photo was taken from..Gee, this EBAY thing is going to be harder than I thought!! :confused3

My son found this on Microsoft live search
http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v...&lvl=2&tilt=-90&dir=0&alt=-1000&scene=5219433
this is of disney world castle

I tried to get a side view off this website for the Tokyo castle, but one is not available, but i did see that the two castle spires that are on the walk would
not be visiable at this angle.

I am still undecided as to which castle it is
i am looking through tons of pictures to find some of our trip photos

the Tokyo castle has the same two side ramps leading up the the castle as does the MK one. Look at the HUGE picture (sorry about that!) of the Tokyo castle that I posted on the other thread - no front ramp. I'm too busy googling that I'd rather not take the time to resize things right now.... LOL!

And based on that picture of the MK castle, you can see the building that is very close behind the castle a little to the right. Must be a shop or Snow White's Adventures? But it IS there very close to the castle...

wow that was an awesome view. LOL

The ramp, workshop and tower seem to be the same in Tokyo, but the landscaping gives it away. As I said above, the water makes all the difference. Not to mention the other minor landscaping differences. That picture helps rule out Tokyo completely if there was any doubt left.

In Tokyo, the moat is in the front of the castle. In WDW it's in the back. See how they're crossing the bridge to get to the buildings and the tower part? There is no bridge on the back of the Tokyo castle. It's completely flat and spread out.

Use the cardinal to rotate the view it's showing you. You can look at the castle 360 degrees around.

I found someone's community photos. If you click the link find the castle picture. It does look like WDW.

Yup, that's it!! You can see the roses, you can see that close building right behind the castle, the one lone tree to the right of the castle....

In all the Tokyo pictures I've found so far, there is NO rose garden, only trees trees and more trees to the right of the castle....

Actually I believe that is the LEFT side of the Tokyo castle, not the right side that is shown in the ebay picture.

But I think I have it firmly settled in my mind that it is MK, not Tokyo, based on the rose garden vs. trees.

OK, Bears and Briar! LOL!! After this post, I am DONE!! I have now spent hours googling and comparing pictures... :rotfl2: BUT because you two are my friends and I want to see you get the prize, I am going to give you PROOF that you are WRONG-O!!! LOL! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Notice how even the lamp posts align up correctly!! (the second picture is just taken at a lower angle)

That's it.... I am putting my laptop down now and walking carefully away from the DIS boards.... :wave2:

Well done Pink. Great detective work. The lamp posts wins hands done it is MK.

Thanks for all the hard work. :)
