Ok, so I want to surprise my with with a 25th anniversary trip to WDW in May. I received a pin code for a discount off our room. So I go to the WDW Website to look at rates and as an example I came up with 1866.00for the stay. My first question is are the rates that are on the site their standard rates?

SO out of curiosity I called the reservation number and got a rate W/ my code of 1568.00. My code is for 30% off. So if the rates on the site are standard rates my 30% should give me a 559.80 discount. So shouldn't my rate be 1306.00 and not 1568.00?

Or are the website rates already discounted?

Thanks for any guidance you can give.

Just a guess, but the 30% is the room before taxes. So my guess is you are factoring in taxes then taking the 30% off.

I'd guess this, too. They can't discount the room tax. Florida likes their tax collection.

Not all resorts are 30% off and sometimes the discount does not apply to weekends (offers usually say, "For stays most nights xx to xx"). What was the resort and room category?

You can try calling back and talking to a different CM or pricing out more than 1 resort or category.

Also, the discount is only on the room portion, not on the 12.5% tax and not on tickets or DDP either. As the pp mentioned, make sure the Disney amount is including the tax so you can compare apples-to-apples when you call.

Edited to add:
Here are the rack rates (including tax), which should help you determine if the total you see on Disney is discounted:

Is there a website associated with your pin code. Usually you can look at all that online with what discounts are offered with your pin.
