I have been itching to do a "Trash the Dress" session for about a year. My cousin agreed to do it last month after her wedding. Unfortunately, she got a bit....um....well....."trashed" herself the night of the wedding. Needless to say, she wasn't feeling great and was not up to it the day after the wedding.
I was supposed to do it the week after their wedding, but my husband's grandmother passed away and we had to make a trip to Chicago.
Then, my sister's foreign exchange student was going to do it for me. I drove 2 1/2 hours to my sister's house last weekend and Martine didn't want to do it.
, again. My sister warned me the night before that Martine was being difficult about it. No big deal. If she didn't want to do it, I wasn't going to push. I went anyway in case she changed her mind. She didn't, but my daughter and I had a great day with my sister.
So, I happened to run into my uncle's sister and her two daughters at rhe grocery store last week. I told them about my idea and they were all for it. We set it up for this past Saturday for them to have their pictures taken in their prom dresses. We had an absolute blast. I spent about 3 1/2 hours with them and ended up with almost 750 pictures. We started out in their barn. From there, we found a John Deere tractor. Then, they started to really get into it and had some ideas of their own. Their mom knows someone who has a gorgeous backyard with a fish pond and a small waterfall. We then headed to the local lake. The youngest had no problems jumping right in and getting wet - literally!!! After that, we headed back to town and got permission to use the town pool. They played "beach" volleyball after jumping in the pool. Then it was on to the cemetery and back home. On the way home, there was an old car the oldest wanted to use. When it was all said and done, I got some pictures that I am really happy with.
Here is a sneak peek (if you would like to see more, just click here).
