I am so upset at my TDS...patriotic pins

My store FINALLY received all 5 of the patriotic pins on Tues! :bounce: Needless to say I had to go and purchase a few. I LOVE them!
 
I would like to tip my hat to the Disney Store employees. They have some of the greatest patience in the world. With the introduction of first the 100 Years of Dreams pins each Saturday and then this line of patriotic pins, they have no doubt felt as if they were being attacked by the pin people. Each day one of us calls or visits asking about pins. When we don't find what we are looking for, there is a tendency for us to get frustrated or upset. Rarely though do I hear a Cast Member lose their cool. I admire their spirit and their loyalty to make our experiences memorable. Working in retail during the holiday season would be bad enough without being placed in a situation where you have little or no control of when you will see the product or in some cases not even know the product exists. Personally, I know I have made many new friends during our weekly visit to the Disney Store. I look forward to seeing the Cast Members and sharing stories with them. After all, in the end these are just pins. It is not like my life would change dramatically if I was unable to find one.

And as a side note, Lauri sent me a Mickey Star pin (thank you very much even though Trina confiscated it as her own as soon as it came out of the box). I took this pin to the Disney Store on Tuesday to ask the Cast Members when they might think they would receive some. They were so excited to see this pin as they did not even know it existed. We talked for quite some time about pins and life and although my question did not get answered and I had no idea when we would ever receive patriotic pins in Arizona, it really didn't matter. I left that night not really caring one way or another that I could not find what I was looking for. The Cast Member though did not forget. Last night as they were unpacking, they received a box of Mickey Star pins and she called me to let me know. Those touches are what makes Disney special.

Jeff thanks so much for sharing that story! It's nice to know things are working right somewhere in the country :)

As a side note... I'm sure this is not what the CM who called you was hoping for, but if you will take just a moment to put something writing about your great CM experience and turn it in to her manager... I'm sure you would make her day as well!

heck, just copy the last part of your post-- I'm sure that would do the trick!

I just wanted to add my compliments to the CM team at the Disney Store in Chesterfield Towne Center. They received the pin with the lenticular flag with Mickey standing in front of it yesterday and they were selling fast. They know us from coming in and trading and buying pins every Saturday but didn't know our names or how to contact us. When we found out that they had received the pins and got there to find out they had already sold out, we received a pleasant surprise.. they had put 2 of the pins aside for us under the name "regular pin people" :) :) I know that we really appreciated it that they were thinking of us! :)

They are even helping me keep track of Matthew.. I stopped by the store after work yesterday to pick up the Mickey for Prez look alike pin and when the CM saw me come in she said "You just missed your husband. He tried to call you a million times on your cell phone but said that you probably had it shoved in your purse with the music turned up real loud in the car and couldn't hear the phone. Either way he was calling to tell you he bought the pins and to come home"..lol

I know the CM's have been taking a beating from this whole pin fiasco. Guys.. let's remember one thing in all this craziness... it's not the CM's fault that they don't have enough of a pin, or that their store didn't get a pin in. It's completely out of their control. They are doing the best that they can in a stressful situation and doing it with a smile on their face. Please don't take it out on them.. they didn't place or fill the orders. This weekend how about we give them a big thank you for putting up with all of us?
 

Since I'm 2.5 hours from the nearest Disney Store I was thrilled to find these pins at the Disney Store website this morning. Go get em.
