I am so sad...and thought I could find some comfort here

I usually only visit this site and the cooking/scrapping forum, so I didn't really want to post in the community forum. I just don't feel as much a part in that room.... any way I just received a call that the son of one of my co-workers was killed today in a tractor accident. This was her only child, 17, and had and would have been a student in my class. This is the second child we have lost in our school district in the past two months. I am just so, so sad.

I'm sorry to commisurate here, but I just feel I need to release my sadness in some fashion. Fortunately my family is understanding, but I dread tomorrow at school when we must deal 300 students and faculty in grief.

To lose any child is well I can not even think of a word that could desribe the pain. But their only child.....my thoughts are with you today as you return to work. I know today will be a tough one to get through for the teachers as well as the students.

Thanks everyone for your support. It was a tough day, and I barely made it through the first class period. I have yet to talk to the boy's parents, but know they are busy with family and many visitors. It will take time. I appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
