I am SO jealous of my friend's new house!

One of my closest friends is like this (but they don't have four kids). I am so jealous of how they actually get things done.

A while back my husband and I had been talking about putting up crown molding in our kitchen and family room. We had been talking about it for almost a year, but never did anything about it. We mentioned it to our friends one night and they made the comment, that doesn't sound like a bad idea. And darn it, three days later they had crown molding up in their kitchen, family room and added a chair rail to their dining room. All this while working full time (they worked on the house in the evening). I couldn't believe it.

The good thing is that it was the kick in the butt that my dh and I needed, the next weekend we actually put up the crown molding in our house.

I'm envious of people like that too. Our house has so much potential, but I have no idea what to do with it. I HATE decorating. I love the end result, but hate the process so my house is just - blah. It took me over a month to get DH to repaint the kids' bathroom and now that it's done I don't even like the color that *I* picked out! I could go on and on but bottom line is so much needs to be done and I have the money to do it, I just lack the motivation.

I know, I need to hire a decorator but I get overwhelmed even thinking about doing that. I didn't have a very good experience with the last decorator I hired when we remodeled my kitchen - the same one my neighbor used with wonderful results, but I wasn't happy with her at all. She never returned my calls and in general acted like she couldn't care less about the work, apparently because it wasn't a $250,000 project.

I wish I were like some of you and actually enjoyed decorating. Then maybe something would get done.
