We are off school for the next two days in NJ for the annual teacher's convention--which means I am off work too. (Well, mostly, I do have to run over to county HQ tomorrow to drop something off.)

Anyhoo, DS is staying over his cousin's house tonight and tomorrow, so when I dropped him off there, I had the chance to ask his mom if he could come with us to WDW in August--and she said YES!

I am so thrilled! We took him in 8/08 and had such fun with him. He is such a sweet kid.

DS and I talked about it last night and considered the possibility of surprising him on Christmas Day. We could get a couple of Disney trip related gifts and include an invitation to Disney World in the package.

I texted DS after I got home to tell him that his cousin can come. Told him he could tell the kid while he's there this week or we'll do the Christmas surprise. He hasn't texted me back to let me know his decision. I'm sure it's because they're busy having fun.

But anyway, thought I would share because this news makes for some awesome trip planning. :sunny:

Congratulations! Bet you're already making your trip plans, aren't you? :goodvibes

Oh, yeah!

I was just talking to my MIL about it. She's thrilled we're taking DN and is going to get the boys Disney dollars for part of their Christmas gift.

I'd like to get my nephew a digital camera of some kind for Christmas. We got my son a Flip camera for his birthday in August. He used it throughout our trip, then made a bunch of videos and photos from his footage when we got home. I think it was a fun learning experience for him, so I'd like to get something similar for DN.

I spent $150 on DS's camera, which is a bit more than I'd spend on DN. I'd like to find something $75 to $100 for him.

...doesn't it feel great to be off for these next four days??? :teeth: However, I thought that you were so happy because
THE NEW YORK YANKEES ARE WORLD SERIES CHAMPS!

I got my daughter a Flip for Christmas. They're cool, huh?

I don't know if you have a Big Lots up there or not, but they have a really nice digital Polaroid advertised with good specs for $79.

You are so right, Kimmar!!!

I'm afraid to check in this morning with my nephews who are in their '20's. They're probably still sleeping off the partying they did for the Yankees last night.

There used to be a Big Lots nearby, but I don't know of any around here now. What are Polaroids about these days anyhow? I guess they're making digital cameras now?

I want to check and see if Flip makes a less expensive camera. Maybe with less memory? DS's Flip is awesome; the only thing I can of that would improve it is more zooming ability. I bought DS's Flip from HSN and paid it off with 3 easy payments. I'm half-considering getting the same model for DN in a different color, then spending less than usual on his birthday in March to make up for the excess. I wouldn't even mind spoiling DN a little, but I have other nephews and nieces, so I try to keep their gifts even, KWIM?
