I can't believe "Dueling Dragons" will be closed the whole week we are there This is our very first visit to US and we were so excited about riding it! At first I thought I read they were only going to refurbish one side at a time but now both "fire" and "ice" will be down!

I just had to vent, sorry. Is anyone else as bummed as I am??

Will you have a rental car?
If so, then spend a day at BGT.
It's a 1.5 hour drive, 75 miles. Take I-4 to I-75, go north to Fowler Ave, West and you'll see the signs 5 miles down the road.

Then you can ride Montu and Kumba. Also visit SWF to ride Kraken.

Thanks for the suggestion robvia, we will be driving our own vehicle down however I purchased the 5-day pass to USO and IOA so I think we will only be visiting those parks while we are there (DH wants to spend a day or two just "relaxing")!

I'll deal with missing out on the "Dueling Dragons" this time around, I'll just look at it as an excuse to have to go back again soon

I don't know if this will make you feel any better, but by going now you will be avoiding the really big crowds. You'll have the space and time to relax and rally appreciate the parks. Pay special attention to all the little touches in the themeing at IOA. It's really superb.

Knowing that does make me feel better! Everytime we have visited Florida before were during "peak" times so it was crowded to say the least! I am really looking forward to a slower, relaxed, pace (not to mention the warmer weather - it is 25 degrees here today brrrrrr)
