Oh Serena, I feel your pain! One year my classroom was across the hall from the music room. I thought the fourth graders would never perfect 'Hot Cross Buns'
It was torture!!
I remember those recorder days
Trust me it gets better...my DS is in 8th grade now & his trumpet playing is quite good now.
For the first year of recorder you think your ears are gonna fall off if you hear Hot Cross Buns one more time.......
Then they bring home the real instrument For the entire first year of playing the trumpet it sounded like my DS was torturing a small moose in the basement
But now, amazingly...it sounds like music.
Hang in there........it'll get better
I remember playing a recorder in grade school way back when.
It's a right of passage for all children.
AND....I also played the clarinet, started in grade school and played all the way through high school.
Granted in the beginning all those wrong notes being played might feel like nails on a chalk board right now. But there is proof that most children involved in music while in school will also perform better in their classes.
