I am renting points- do I get free internet access?

I read somewhere that DVC users get free internet. I am renting points at BLT. Do I also get free internet access?

Free internet is a member perk. You may or may not get it. If it shows up on your bill, you won't have a blue member card to show the front desk to get it removed.

The answer is a definite "maybe." If your room key says "DVC MEMBER" on it, you'll likely get it free. However, even members are occasionally charged and have to go to the front desk to correct the billing. Since you have no DVC Memebership card to present to the front desk if you are charged, you'd have to pay.

We rented and had free internet via ethernet cord (in the room), but no wi-fi. Our keys said members so we used both pools and the valet as well. It was a great week!

You got lucky with the valet, they are increasingly asking for the actual membership cards.

Wi-Fi is never free, even for members. But you could bring your own router.

I'd bet they would give it to you if you'd care to give them the price they paid for their DVC points and annual fees. Probably in the range of $15-30K.

You get the member card when you purchase a real estate interest in DVC. You are renting a reservation a member for a very nice price, much less than you would pay Disney directly for the same reservation.

Why would a member agree to that? Honestly, it contains their personal membership number, if someone from Member Services or the front desk slips up and doesn't ask for further proof of ID, you could have access to their membership account. It is almost like giving someone your ATM without the PIN, and knowing that sometims a bank can make a mistake and give out info based on the card alone.

A friend of ours had some excess DVC points this year, and we gladly took some off his hands to stay at the Beach Club Villas 2 weeks ago. (we did pay him for the use of his points) At any rate, we are definitely not DVC owners and we were not charged for internet use. I was fully prepared to pay if we were, but it never showed up on our bill.
