You're certainly entitled to draw the line where you see fit, but what will you do if EVERY hotel eliminates daily housekeeping? Will you honestly never stay in a hotel again, just because you might need to empty your own trash? Really?

I guess I just assumed you wouldn't be willing to take out your trash, period. I mean, whether I am spending $100/night or $1000/night, it takes the same amount of effort to tie up a trash bag and put it outside my door. I always think about everything else I get when I'm spending $$$ at a hotel. It's usually location above all else. So, I don't necessarily tie the amount of money I spend on a hotel to what I'm willing to do for myself while there.

That's what they claim. My past experiences at Hiltons makes me take that with a HUGE grain of salt. Most likely, you will schedule your housekeeping and they won't show up when they are supposed to. Half the time, even when they supposedly had daily full service, our room wouldn't get cleaned.

I was looking for a quick trip to take towards the end of July. CBR is $353.00 a night. I just went to Wilderness Lodge in June and paid $305.00 a night in a brand new room. There is no way I will pay over 300.00 for a moderate resort EVER! I looked at Christmas and French Quarter was over 300.00 as well. This is crazy. I think Disney will carry on with these prices during the 50th celebration. I love staying on property but if this continues, we will go off site. We are AP holders and go frequently.

We looked at the same week in October we have stayed at YC multiple years. The price for a non-club level room package this year for the same week we have always gone (at least since 2014) and same amount of days was $2,000 higher than we paid in 2018 for a club level room in the same view category; $2,500 more than our club level water view room in 2015, $3,000 higher than the non-club rooms we booked in 2019, 2017, and the club level room we booked in 2016; and $4,000 higher than our non-club room in 2014.

Well- I think we have decided to cancel the October trip. When I went back and looked at what we had paid in past years after seeing this thread - that did it. I knew it was higher when I booked, but it is ridiculously higher. $3,000 more than we paid for the exact same category room on the same dates in 2019? A non-club room $2,000 HIGHER than we paid for a club level room with the same view category in 2018? We just aren't willing to do that with all the things that aren't even there right now. We were kind of holding out to see if fast pass came back- but even if it does, and as much as I love WDW I'm still not sure it is worth it at those prices. We have been looking forward to being there during the actual 50th anniversary month for years- but the scale has tipped between higher prices and all the cuts giving you less for your money. We were hoping to get to go one more time before magical express is gone. It may be hard to get DH back there without magical express. He is really irritated about not having it anymore. He already said he wasn't going back next year if there was no magical express.

I've been trying to talk DH into staying in an ASM suite bc I want to stay on site (I love the bubble and I love walking to a food court to have breakfast, love the pools, love being steps from the atmosphere, we stayed offsite last time). But it's already (we're a few days from booking window) almost $1500 more total than the condo we already have booked. I don't need the extra morning time, or the busses, as we have our car. But I do like the extended reservation windows for FP and ADR, which who knows if those will be back or not. But the prices seems so high. $331, I know it's a value suite but it seems high.

Also my excitement plummeted with the removal of MVMCP this year. Our trip is next year, but since the 50th will still be happening and they haven't confirmed Christmas decor in the parks...I'm having a hard time. We go to Disney in December for a reason. Our every 3 year trip fell during this time, the 50th is a coincidence for us I almost don't want to go anymore.

We'll be at the BC next week too, doing a split stay with Four Seasons and our Four Seasons room was cheaper. I really can't overstate how ridiculous that is because even before Disney cut housekeeping, the Four Seasons was so far above BC in every way, except location, but there comes a point where even that is no longer enough of a perk and a 10 minute bus ride for a far, far superior hotel is worth it. This may well be our last Disney resort stay - I can't accept the price anymore when considering value for your $.

I know this comment is 10 days old, but it struck me and I've finally figured out how to out it into words. To me, this is basically /thread. This person is paying/paid LESS for a true luxury hotel on Disney property than a Disney-run "luxury" hotel.

I would also note the Waldorf Astoria (also a luxury hotel, although not on the same plane as the Four Seasons) has been much cheaper than the deluxes every time I've checked rates there. (Yes, Bonnet Creek is not Disney property, but it might as well be.)

We're getting royally screwed for our December trip. Dec 8-11 - 3 nights, 4 park days (non-hopping) at AoA suite - over $4000 for 4 people. I did get 4 plane tickets for the price of 3 using a companion ticket, but that's not even included in that number! I spent $500 less for our beach/Universal trip last month for 7 nights.

Our motto is don't look back - once you've booked, move on and quit going over the numbers unless we really intend to change something.

HOWEVER!! THIS SUCKS!

I agree 100%. We have taken our kids to all of the places listed above except Tokyo and DC.
Wanna get a rebellious 17 yr old to hold your hand walking through the streets of Paris? Book a hotel with an amazing view of the Eiffel tower. We had a 4br penthouse apt with an incredible view for around $750/nt. (In summer 2017) He was literally jumping up and down yelling, “oh my God, Mom you did it! You really did it this time!”

Since I'm living vicariously through your (truly!!!) awesome life & hope to see more photos of y'all on Disboards, I suggest that when you have young grandkids in 15-23 years, take the kids & grandkids on a Disney cruise to Alaska or Norway. The one we took to Alaska remains our family's all-time favorite vacation.
