My stay will not be until October, but I want to order the "trick or Treat tickets" and a another trip in May( I turn 40). I am wondering if being an AP holder might make the differance of staying onsite or off price wise. Any idea what type of discount I might be able to get on rooms at DLH?

AP discounts are usually very good. The rates for Oct are not out yet. Once you get your AP or even a bar code number, you can register and check the hotel rates on the calender. It all depends are when you go.

I would really like to stay at DLH, but I am trying to make the $$. Is there any way to find out what the discount on rooms might be with an AP before I book somewhere else?

once you get your AP, you can log on and check prices. Prices are up through September. If you have dates, I can check for you. Rooms will be discounted in May, but maybe not much in Oct.

I think this applies to all levels of AP and not just Premium, but you can actually use your AP to get a 10% discount off the rack rate of any of the 3 DLR hotels year round - 365 days a year, even in peak season. The discounts Konagal are referring to are the special "AP7," AP8" rates or "AP9 rates" (they change the number every year, but I think we should be on AP9 by now, am I right?) that come out throughout the year, and those can only be accessed/viewed by the AP holders on the DLR website. Those rates are usually very good. Last year, I had an existing reservation for the GCH on one specific weekend, but when I saw that I could save about $700 by switching to the PPH using the special AP8 rate (or whatever it was at that time) and changing the dates to one week earlier, I jumped on that!

So you can always use your AP to save money at the DLR hotels; it's just that the AP8, etc., rates are better than just saving 10% with the AP. And with a Premium AP you can save 15% on your food throughout DL and DCA (10% in most DTD restaurants), and you also get the handy merchandise discounts with a Premium! Deluxe APs save you 10% on food, and there are no merchandise discounts.

My dates are Oct 14-19, and I just want to have some idea of the rooms at DLH...to see if I can afford there before I book a trip at the BWPPI. Thanks so much!!

October rates are not out yet. But as Sherry E says you may be able to get a 10% off rate.

You could make a ressie at your off site hotel and then cancel if the reduced AP rate meets your needs.

Hi, I have the costco AP voucher but I can't log in to see what the rates are at any of the hotels until I activate it.

Does anybody know what type of AP discount they are giving Aug-1-9.

Thanks

Early August is still considered peak season at DLR, so the prices - even with an AP - are high (unless you have some sort of PIN offer you can use for a lower price). What I just saw when I looked on the AP Hotel Availability Calendar (for the August 1 - 9 dates) was anywhere from $252 to $275 per night for the PPH (and that would include any AP discount available); the DLH is anywhere from $279 - $311 per night for that week; the GCH ranges from $383 - $432. It is odd the way they have it broken down. Like August 1 may be at the $275 rate at the PPH, but August 3 may be $252, for example, and then the next day goes back to $275. Anyway, the off-peak rates begin to kick in in September, I think.

Guess I will stick with hojo for now even thou the reviews I've read the last couple of days are starting to worry me.

You're welcome! Yes, those rates I gave you are definitely not the most impressive AP rates we have seen - those are just the regular high summer prices minus 10% basically. But take comfort in knowing that there will be better AP rates coming along eventually. Last year, there were some surprisingly low AP rates in December (normally a peak season), and the hotels were not even filled to capacity - they still had availability (because so many folks are staying offsite now). I don't know if they will do that again this year, but on certain days of the calendar in September (like Sundays or less popular days), I can see an occasional $129 per night rate for PPH, so that is MUCH better, of course!!

I have never stayed at HoJo's but I have read mostly positive reviews of it, and everyone seems to agree that it is a great value for being such a good hotel (you expect to see $59 rates for dives or roach motels, not actual decent hotels!), and that any drawbacks to it are minor. So I am sure you will have a great stay there!

this is the part that is worriesome to me. I won't activate my AP until I arrive in Oct., but I need to get my flights made soon before prices jump. I wish they had their fall specials up now so badly, because I would really rather stay on sight. Do I just book my flights and wait to book the rest of everything?

I wish I could get the ent. rate of $59. I'm paying the AP rate of 118.00 plus tx. I wouldn't worry or complain at all for $59.

Yes, that's what I would do. If you have a bar code on the receipt from your AP purchase, you can go to the Disneyland AP website and register. You dp not have to activate the AP to do this. Then you can see hotel rates. Maybe Sherry E can shed light on when the AP rates for Oct will be up.

I would go ahead and book an off site hotel if you can cancel with no penality.

I think I know as much as you do about when the October AP rates wiil be up! I assumed that they would be up by mid-July, probably earlier. They seem to come out a good 3 months in advance. So there really isn't too much longer to wait - especially if they come out in early July. And I agree with you, Konagal - I think OP should just go ahead and book something somewhere (and make sure it can be cancelled without fees, as you suggested), and then if something nifty comes along on the AP Hotel Availability Calendar, switch over to one of the DLR hotels. It can't hurt to do it that way. I, myself, am very curious what the October rates will be. Last year, with the PIN codes and AP discounts floating around, the 3 hotels were sold out - especially the PPH and the DLH - and that was typically the 'off-peak season' when the hotel rates would have been lower anyway, so the discounts just made them even more attractive. I wonder if this October will be the same sort of thing, or if they will refrain from sending out PIN offers for that time and just let the AP holders have good rates.

Do you know when you want to go in October? If you go during Gay Days (Sept 30-Oct 8), you can take advantage of their conference rates, which are excellent. You don't have to be part of the convention to get the rates, you just have to go through their website and use the code. http://www.gaydaysanaheim.com/html/HotelsPop.html
