We just returned from a trip up North. I can't believe how smooth everything went with Southwest.

I did have a few minutes of worry at the 24 hour check in point. Apparently my time and their computer didn't agree. It didn't matter that my computer had the correct time so I called SW. I got a very helpful agent who had me try again and it worked that time. I tried their website before I called trying to figure it out myself but didn't find the answer.

The famed cattle call worked very nicely!!!! Much better than most of the flights I have ever taken with assigned seats. I couldn't believe how quick everyone boarded and stowed their luggage. Our flight wasn't full but it was so quick.

No "funny" announcements but the flight attendants didn't have an attitude and were very helpful.

Also liked they don't use the beverage cart down the aisle. Drinks and snacks were served quickly and no tie ups in the aisle.

We used them because they had no charge for the luggage. We brought a lot of hometown food back with us and had an additional suitcase that was also free.

I tried to use freq. flyer miles for tickets on other airlines and because of the short notice the cost per ticket fee was around $150 in addition to the miles. For only $40 more we had Southwest tickets and got to keep our miles.

I sure will fly Southwest again!

Tee hee.. you are now free to move about the country!

I will only fly Southwest!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the review, we fly SW next week for the first time and I am looking forward to it.

I love, love, love Southwest!! We can fly direct from our smaller local airport and you get free bags!:cool1:

I just wish the rates would come down for the dates I'm looking at in February... we'll have to see how April vacation week rates are when come out next week...

I felt like I had let down the ff family. There was no rushing the gate when they announced boarding, there were plenty of announcements when we had a delay leaving.

The best was on both ends that was luggage was already coming around on the belt when I got to baggage claim. That very rarely happened even with Priority tags as a frequent flyer.

I am sure they also have issues along the way. I tried Delta and USAirways when I wanted to redeem my ff miles to go to a funeral. No flexibility, no compassion.

I also felt like I was in first class when I got my favorite seats in the front of the plane.

Another SW fan here! I love them for all the reasons you all stated. Have never had a problem and employees have always been helpful and nice.

Over the summer, my mom had to cancel a trip due to being in the hospital. SW could not have been nicer......no fee, she has the credit with SW to use any time in the next year, for any destination. And if she can't use it, anyone of the rest of us can........I love that!:thumbsup2

Another new SW fan here. I started flying them this last year. I don't know what took me so long. I haven't had a problem with them yet. Plus, the no baggage fee is a definite plus.:woohoo:

We have flown SW a number of times and I too would be a a big fan. Just the luggage fee's for 4 people make you scream but there are two big reason's I don't fly them (and one little reason).

1) The schedule doesn't come out as far as the other carrier's. I really can't check daily for schedule's to come out as we travel somewhere every 4-6 weeks. I plan very far out such as Thanksgiving 2011 (just booked a cruise through DU).

2) The FF points expire. USair's never do. Of course the flip side is the limited seats available. Delta I can buy points and turn the clock back.

2 1/2) They don't fly out of my regional airport. However, I've had too many less than stellar experience the last few years, moved to PHL finally settled on EWR as our airport of choice.
