I Am NOT a Bad, Bad Baby -- TR final updates 9/12

What a fantastic meet!!! So glad you had such a nice time at lunch and shopping with friends.

Sounds like a productive visit moving in Andy and Des.

I'm sure it is a little bit :goodvibes and a little bit :sad1:

Love the pics of the kids in Ireland!!

What a brave woman you are to go to DQ. I went once and that was enough for me.

The boat from OKW to DTD... was it as easy as from POR to DTD? I am not sure how or why but I did not see the launch... :confused3 and I don't remember going by OKW from POR. It takes a different route?

Your meal at RR makes me want to hurry and try and book an ADR there. YUM! And how cool that the girls got to participate!!!

The girls and starbucks..... :rotfl2:

That is so disappointing to hear that TH was not great. It always is one of my favorites. :sad2:

Poor Avery on Dinosaur. I really enjoy that ride too...but at that point I always feel just like her... the need to duck. It is so loud!

You may not have liked EE but that is a great ride photo of you! I hear ya though...that backwards part is why I can do it once... How my kids can ride it over and over is beyond me.

Yay for the dismeet! So fun to have at disney but even better when it is IRL!!!

Whoop whoop on the DIS meets! I saw the pics on Facebook and sounds you guys had a great time meeting Danielle and her family!

Love AK and Tusker House...glad the girls enjoyed their visit and meeting the characters :)

Reporting back ..........

I was 25 pages behind after 5 weeks of absense, so THANK YOU for links on the first page. ;)

But, I am all caught up again - there is too much to comment on in detail ......

Love the girls pics! Love the pics from Vegas and the DISmeet. Sounds like you had an awesome time at WDW with the girls ... and some yummy food! :rotfl2:

First, :grouphug: about the anniversary of your dad's passing.

Glad to hear Andy and Des got all moved in, and what a FUN Dis-meet! Looks like a great time. One of these days when I am in the Chicago area, it'd be fun to get together with you.

I read your post this weekend about the Dismeet on my phone and couldn't see any pictures, so I came back on regular computer because I didn't want to miss out on those pictures. I was sure they would be great and they were! It looked like you and Mark had a great time. I hope to be able to run into you guys and Danielle's family sometime.

They really look like such a fun family! I'm glad you were able to meet with them and have such a great time.

BTW, are those antibiotics kicking in yet? I hope you are on the downhill stretch for this rotten cold.

What a fun Dismeet! Papadon looks like a riot! I will have to check out Danielle's TR.

I love your retro WDW shirt!

It was so much fun to meet you guys! I'm so happy that we were able to do it. We will do it again soon!

Hot Topic is totally dangerous, right? I find it even more dangerous online.

We will overlap someday in Disney. I will make it so!

Got caught up last night as I was falling asleep. Thank you all for convincing me to skip DQ till someone else brings it up. lol Always love your trips to AK. The girls are so cute. Wish I could have helped with EE. I would have loved to have taken your place and rode with Avery. Looked like a fun dismeet. Omg that Ireland Mickey is adorable.

Glad the move was harmless! and what a great Dis MEET!!!! :worship: Everyone is SO CUTE!!! Looks like you all had a great time!!

We arrived at Tusker House and were seated immediately. We were put way in a back room, but the characters were already appearing so we hit that right
It's nice to not have to sit and wait for them. Especially when you've got a morning park ADR. :thumbsup2

they took out the Krispy Kreme donuts and put in donut holes? Seriously? What were they thinking? We also didn't have the best service at this meal.
Hey, Kathy. I don't know if you realize this, but donut holes taste exactly the same. Just get more of them. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Avery likes the ride...except the scary part. And, as a result of that, this is the picture she and I always get on the attraction
At least she enjoys it and wants to do it!

No, it was not Primevil Hurl.

It was this
The ride that makes it worth the trip over to AK!!!! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Avery and I had a FP+ for this (we could have gone twice using Mary and Cayley's bands but I knew ahead of time that was NOT going to happen).
Oh, come on!

Proof we did it (and she loves it...her mother is going to have to suck it up or we will have to bring Mr. Mark if we ever do another girls' trip).
I'm sure Mark would absolutely hate that. :rolleyes1

Today marks the 6th anniversary of the passing of the first man I ever loved. I miss him every day and love him always.

We figured the best spot for a group picture was in front of the Disney Store
Naturally! :rotfl2:

I was a few updates behind, so here are all of my comments!

Sorry you had a bad experience at Tusker House. Mine was good in May, but we had a fantastic server which helped. The food was good, though it was not my favorite breakfast.

I love both the Dinosaur and EE pictures! :rotfl: You do look like you're enjoying yourself at least on EE, even if you weren't really. I really love that one, but I can certainly understand why some people don't like the backwards part.

 for the anniversary of your Dad's passing

Fun DISmeet!

Super DISmeet with Danielle and her family! Love the mugs, and of course Mark was able to find the opportunity to pose for a hat picture!!! :thumbsup2

Don't feel bad, Kathy, John says that the backwards part of Expedition Everest is why he won't ride it again. I love the ride picture of the two of you. You at least look like you are enjoying yourself. :rotfl:

I think Avery must have said something to make me laugh because I truly was afraid I was going to be sick!

Expedition Everest is intense. The backwards part didn't bother me so much, but the intense turns after the drop are something else. Still love it, though!

I used to love it, but my age really has caught up with my desire.

I am so sorry breakfast was a bit of a dissapointment but the girls sure look adorable in those dresses!

Even though the food was a bit of a disappointment, we still had fun. Didn't those girls look adorable?

That may be the funniest Dinosaur picture I have ever seen.

I think we had the same pic in December.

I hate to say this but before you know it, Avery will be old enough to go on EE in single rider line, without any of you.

Mary, did you hear that?

It's a wonderful and horrible thing, all at once.

Yes it is!

I love the ride photo of you both on EE!! I have only ridden it one time shortly after it opened so hopefully I can handle it in a couple weeks!

I hope you enjoy it; it's definitely time you get back on it.

It always goes too fast.

Yes it does; but the good news is my next one is only 23 days away.

Oh good, you got the Stitch picture. I know you were thrilled.:thumbsup2

What's a Disney trip without one? :rotfl:

Sorry to hear that.

It happens.

Dinosaur! (I peeked)

Cheater!

::yes:: Animal Kingdom seems to have even more of those details than the other parks.

And such great ones too.

You and Avery win. :rotfl2:

I haven't been on that spin thing in at least 16 years.

Uh oh.

NOT A GOOD THING!

Tusker House use to be a must do for us until last time when the selection wasn't that great and the service was not good. From now on we go to Boma's.

I'm really surprised that Mark didn't want to go to Boma this coming up trip especially since we are staying there for three nights.

I am not a huge fan of Dinosaur, just all the bouncing along and my DD hates that ride she looks like Avery on the whole ride not just at the scary part. :rotfl: My DH and DS on the other hand love that ride.

I always forget how bumpy it is until I get on it, but it doesn't bother me.

Did you go to the Lion King show? If so how was it since it moved?

No, we missed it. We were supposed to go the first day we were at AK and had the snafu with the FP+. Mark and I will be doing it next month.

Expedition Everest has become one of my top favourite rides... this and Tower of Tower! Love it.. we usually go at least twice if not up to four times switching off because my DD again does not like the drop on this ride.

I could do TOT 100 times before I could do EE.

Sounds like you guys have a great day in AK so far!

We really did!

Two awesome updates :thumbsup2

Thanks. :)

Love the girls dresses, they look cute as always. Love the magic photo with Stitch.

Mary finds them the cutest outfits. :)

This is the update I had been waiting for ;) Tusker House, but I ended up already cancelling our ADR a few weeks ago. My boys seem less than interested in the characters and I don't want to spend that much for possibly not good food.

I think you made the right move...especially if the boys aren't into the characters right now.

LOVE the Dinosaur picture, those are the kind of pictures we get on rides too. lol

Avery just cracks me up.

That was so nice of you to ride EE for/with Avery. I really enjoyed the ride, but my back does not.

My back, my head, my stomach...none of it enjoys it anymore. :rotfl:

Hooray for a DISmeet this weekend :goodvibes can't wait to see who you meet up with.

We had so much fun at our DISmeet.

Cute dresses on the girls!!

They have good taste. :)

Sorry to hear breakfast was just "eh" -- but looks like you had some good character interactions!

The characters were awesome!

The picture on Dinosaur is perfect -- I think that ride must produce some of the funniest ride pictures (we have one with DH that cracks me up!) :lmao:

I agree; I've seen great shots on Dinosaur.

I love EE - so exhilarating! But I can see why it isn't a favorite for some!

I so wish I could enjoy it again. :(

I love Everest, but Ryan doesn't ride most coasters. Thankfully my brother and sister in law are roller coaster junkies so I'm not alone.

And hopefully yours boys will love them too!

I know who your secret DISmeet is!! (And it's not me). I have plans to meet up with them in September!

And how did you know?

Catching up again. So cool the girls got to do Irish dancing (it's my favourite kind :goodvibes) I didn't know they sold Irish stuff in DTD as well

Yes they do...there's quite the selection.

I love the hats that the girls were trying on. They both have awesome bags as well that I want!

I loved Avery's bags.

We did Tusker House as well and weren't fans! Momma didn't like the waiter annoying her the whole time (the story is in one of my trip reports) and there was only three characters when we were there!

Yes, just not a fan anymore.

Fair play for going on Everest at all. I won't. If it looks like a coaster and goes fast like a coaster i'm staying on the ground :lmao:

The sad thing is I LOVED roller coasters when I was younger.

Thread hijacking (sorry Kathy) :

I'm from Ireland and get to go to the Irish Disney store once a week when my dance class is on... They have their own range of Irish plushies and t-shirts and stuff as well:

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO mad that the kids didn't get me one of those Mickey or Minnie's.

Great pictures from Ireland. Sounds like it was a fantastic trip.

Thanks, Dee; the kids really enjoyed it.

You survived DQ- nicely done. The Pirates ride is about the only thing I like there. I also dislike how rude people are about hogging the games and never leaving, and when they do, someone tries to swoop in and cut my kids who have been waiting patiently.

I noticed that too; and the pushing and shoving to beat the littler kids there!

I haven't been to Ragland Road, but it is a much better follow-up to DQ than T-Rex. That was a night full of overstimulation!

I don't think I could do T-Rex; but then I don't like Rainforest so I doubt I'd like T-Rex.

I LOVE that you told the boys it had closed. Maybe I should tell my boys the Lego store moved. It would save me a LOT of $$$.

You can certainly give it a try!

How fun that the girls got up to dance.

:thumbsup2

They had a blast!

I love the girls' adorable dresses!

They just have the cutest clothes.

I'm sorry to hear that Tusker House was disappointing. We went in 2008, but I don't think we will be rushing back.

I'd much rather stick with my Crystal Palace or go back to Cape May.

Yay, Dinosaur! The picture is hilarious. I am too cheap to purchase ride photos, but I shelled out money for one from this ride where my boys look absolutely terrified. :rotfl2:

Thankfully, those pictures are now included on the MM as I won't pay for them either. I do remember we purchased one on Dinosaur when Andy graduated high school and we took his then girlfriend as she was hysterical on it. Every once in awhile it is worth getting it.

Sorry that you didn't feel great after EE :(

No...and it's not the first time.

I've just died and gone to heaven!!!!!! Ireland AND Disney?!? :faint:

Seriously! I may have to go to Ireland just for this reason.

All caught up!

Yay...I'm glad. :)

Sorry you weren't thrilled with your Tusker House breakfast. Have you ever tried lunch? It's my favorite buffet in all of WDW.

We only do breakfast buffets at Disney; we've had too many bad experiences at lunch and dinner. :(

Your EE ride photo is great!

Thank you.

I'm not a fan of Disney Quest either. I kind of view that place as a waste of good Disney time.

I'm with you...much rather be in the parks or at the pool.

Love Raglan Road! The photos of Cayley dancing are so sweet!

We've yet to have a bad meal there.

Great ride! But I'm worried.

Awww...you do care about me. :)

You know, that's totally understandable. That backwards portion is very disorienting. It almost feels like you're going upside-down (even though you're not).

Exactly! And it just kills me.

Sorry to hear you were less than thrilled with breakfast at Tusker House - and no more Krispy Kreames is not cool!

Well, unless you count the Krispy Kreme donut holes...but they just aren't the same.

Congrats on riding Everest - the backwards part is definitely what would get you - the rest is pretty smooth at least.

It is a smooth ride pretty much, but just not my cup of tea anymore.

Thinking about your today, my friend! Sending many hugs across the miles!

Thank you, Lisa. You have always been there.

I'm sorry that your meal at Tusker House wasn't better. It was one the highlights of our trip, but we had a great server, which really does help!

Service is a huge part of your meal.

I love Avery hiding in Dinosaur!

Isn't that hysterical?

My husband feels the same way as you on the backwards part of EE, he was not a fan of going backwards. The first time we rode it we were at the back of the train and that seemed to be much worse. When we were toward the front he said it wasn't as bad.

Yes, that was definitely my last time...I just can't do it anymore.

I'm so sorry about your dad. . Thinking of you today.

Thanks, Clare.

I love the Dinosaur picture. I was LOL at work!

I do that at work too and then people look at me and wonder what is wrong.

Sorry Tusker House was disappointing. We did lunch there 2 years ago and loved it. I hope it was just a bad day.

It could have been a bad day...every restaurant has them.

I can't wait to ride EE again, but sorry it makes you not feel so good.

I hope you have a blast on it!

Hope you're having fun at the Cubs game! Wish I was there.

We had a great time although it was hotter than all heck. But the Cubs won which was a good thing.

:rotfl2: Those plushies were actually on sale last time I went up 18 euro instead of 30 each. The stuff is super expensive but cute :goodvibes

I asked the kids to get me an Ireland Disney pin but they said they didn't have any.

Saw that on fb yesterday. Hope you're ok. I know anniversaries are sucky

Yes they are; the tears aren't as bad now, but I still miss him dearly.

Great meet with Danielle and family!! Her father is a riot!!!! I bet he would Pole Dance with me:rotfl2:I have heard rumors we are getting a Disney Store at our Outlet Mall !!:cool1::cool1::cool1:I can't wait :thumbsup2

Thanks, Rosie. Danielle, Mom and Popadon are WONDERFUL people. I do believe that Popadon would pole dance with you.

Belated thoughts for you on the anniversary of your dad's passing, Kathy. And hugs too.

Thank you, Wendy.

What a great Dismeet! Saw the pics on Facebook, they're all awesome. Some day I'll cross paths with them too, I hope!

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

I hope you do...you would love them. And I am excited that I will be crossing paths with you next month. :goodvibes

Sorry your breakfast at Tusker House did not live up to your expectations. I hate when that happens. :(

It's always a possibility and it does happen.

I absolutely love the dinosaur picture and the EE picture! So, you are done with EE huh? Sorry it does not agree with you. On the bright side, you got a great last picture on it!:thumbsup2

Yes, I am done. Avery knows that was my last time. The picture did turn out good.

Sorry about your dad. Hugs to you! :grouphug:

Thank you.

Your lunch DIS meet looks amazing. The picture of him looking for the $5 is too funny! Glad y'all had a good time!

He had me in stitches.

Empty nesters. I don't know if I will every know what that is! LOL I spread my kids out. 30, 25 and 13. The first two of course are gone but, DS is starting the 8th grade tomorrow. I still have plenty of time with him before I ship him off to college. :rotfl: Helping your kids move in a new place is a chore isn't it? No wonder you are tired. You had one heck of a long day!

Boy you sure did spread them out. I'm happy for Andy, but I still find myself waking up and wondering why he is not in his bed. :lmao:

What a fun Dismeet!

It really was Jill.

Glad the move went well.

Jill in CO

Me too; and the place is really cute.

Hey, I'm caught up! Wow, that was quite the turtle that the girls found near the resort pool Wow!

It sure was. They were super excited about it.

So, what was that drink that you got at Raglan Road?

That is the Bailey's Shake. And it is very yummy.

Love the DIS meet! Looks like you all had a great time.

Thanks, Darla; we really did...a lot of fun.

What a fantastic Dis Meet! I love the fact that our love for Disney brings so many wonderful people together. I truly do!

Thanks, Lisa. Isn't it great the lifelong friends we have all met here?

Love the BATB glass :flower3:

I do too!

I'm finally caught up again! I've barely been able to glance at the boards all week.

I'm sure it is rough with being back at school.

I love the picture of y'all on EE! I hate that we had to miss it our last trip. Brody was short by 1 inch! I'll ride it for sure in March though. :)

Brody will definitely be able to ride it in March I bet.

Your DIS meet looked like so much fun! I love that y'all got a picture in front of the Disney Store. Very fitting! I haven't read her TR. I might need to hop over to it when I can find the time.

It was fun and having the group shot in front of the Disney store was perfect! You will love her TR!
