I Am NOT a Bad, Bad Baby -- TR final updates 9/12

Cayley looks so cute in her pouty pictures. Like quit taking pictures of me 'cause I'm ticked off that it's raining. :rotfl:

I'm glad that your meal at Kona was so good. We ate there and it was one of our most disappointing meals of the trip. I think that they were having an "off" night.

That pork chop looked so good. The next time I eat at Kona THAT is what I'm getting! ::yes::

What a yummy looking dinner. We have yet to eat at Kona, planning a breakfast or lunch there sometime in the next year.

Great pictures around the resort.

Hope the rain holds off for the rest of your evening :goodvibes

How are you my friend? Hope all is well with you as well :goodvibes Hugs for Andy and Des getting their own place but I'm sure they'll be round plenty. I practically still live at my mums at weekends!

TANZ!!!!! Must take this opportunity to say hello!!!!!! I just know you are going to come back to the DIS one of these days!

Kathy - dinner looks delish and I can't think of a better place to be to wait out the rain. That pork chop looks especially good.

I hope the weather holds out for the rest of your evening! :thumbsup2

Dinner was yummy. Judging by the red sauce on the pasta I cam going to say that Cayley shared with me. The steak was really yummy. I do hope to stay DVC at the Poly someday.

Always good for a snooze on Ellen after all your rides for that day.

Oh yes the Poly is a mess right now. I miss Kona and that Pork chop looks GOOOOD.

I hear you on the rain, tough being soggy, good for you getting dry socks.

Late night plans.... I am sure with the coffee and the coffee rubbed pork chop you were hope to stay awake. :lmao:

Looks like a nice meal at Kona! I swear I've made reservations there 3-4 times, and always end up canceling for somewhere else....but the menu looks fabulous, for breakfast and dinner! We love the sushi bar too. This one needs to be on our ADR list for our next trip!

Somehow, I missed yesterday's update. That dinner looks marvelous! I want that steak right now. I don't care if it's only 9:30 in the morning, it looks delicious!! Kona's one we haven't tried yet. May have to add it to my list next time around.

And this is what we saw from ride number two:

Yikes. The skies were basically doing a #2 on your evening plans.

I stopped in the store here to get some dry socks. My shoes dried pretty quick, but my socks were thoroughly drenched and I can't stand that.

Wet socks are awful. And hey, you found the Peeky Tiki!:thumbsup2

We had a little time to kill and it had stopped raining so we took a peek outside:

Before long, I was ordering this (I'm sure it will help you figure out where we were dining since I totally failed to take a picture of the sign):

Great choice! Kona Cafe doesn't get a lot of press for dinner, but it's one of our favorites.

HEAVEN ON A PLATE. Seriously, my favorite meal of the trip.

Nice! The pineapple-glazed strip steak is pretty awesome, too.:thumbsup2

And, despite being full, there is always room for dessert:

Volcano cake! :cool1::woohoo:

I am all caught up again!!! :cool1:
Your evening at the pool was brief but that slide sure looks like fun!!

We never did make it to Rafiki's last summer. Guess I'll have to try that next time, again! LOL

WHY do those busses have to be soooooo cold?!!! Your time at DTD was successful for one little girl at least. How did your treats taste? I threw away DS Goofy's candy creation not too long ago. Found it in the back of the pantry. It was a Mickey Rice Krispie covered in M&Ms.

You had a very busy and productive morning at Epcot. I LOVED the photos of you all at the Character spot. Especially your group photo. Very cute!!! You made it to several attractions there during the day in spite of dodging the raindrops!

Dinner at Kona looked very good! Have to try that one on one of our trips as well. Hopefully, by the time I get to return, the Poly will be done.

Looking forward to your EMH evening.

Too bad about the monsoon and the wet socks! I also hate wet socks!!!
Love all the pics of those cute girls!
Kona - we've had breakfast and lunch here, no dinner yet. That steak calls to me though. I might want to try to fit that in our plans.
It's interesting to read TRs from over these months with the construction and see/read about the changes. Wonder what it will look like in December when we are there.

We saw that O' Canada a loooong time ago. We went on Ellen and visited stupid Judy on our last WDW trip in 2012. That should hold us for a while!

Oooh Kona. YUMMO. LOVE that coffee. Delish.

Best coffee in all of Disney.

ah, we love Kona - and good call getting the coffee press even at dinner!

I like how you think on the coffee.

I agree how photogenic the Poly is. I hope that the redo will still be as lovely - just different .... but I fear the loss of the waterfall will just never be forgotten and we will always just think about what "was"

I have to agree with you. I'll remember our stays there and miss what it used to be. :(

Oh, and it's not that I don't like O' Canada I was just commenting that there was next to no one in the picture so at least in that shot it looked very empty :goodvibes

It was...I don't know where everyone else ran for the rainstorm. :confused3

Those spare ribs at Chefs really are good. Of course the recipe makes a HUGE batch. :scared: Did I half the recipe or quarter it when I made them at home? :confused3 OF COURSE NOT! :sad2: So, for the bargain price of about $50 to make just the entree, we had them for Father's Day that year...and we ate them for about a week after that. :crazy2: But with the amount of wine it called for, they preserved quite well. :rolleyes1

Oooh...I definitely need to try these.

The outfits those girls had to wear are just so adorable! LOVE the star spangled outfit too! :goodvibes

They have the cutest clothes for girls (one of my few regrets of never having a daughter).

Kona is definitely on my list of must try's at Disney. And the pressed pot of Kona coffee, too! :thumbsup2 Is that an entire BULB of garlic on Mary's plate for garnish??? I am guessing the name of the entree she ordered had the word GARLIC in it! :lmao: It does look good, though! :)

Yes, I believe that was an entire bulb of garlic. I think it was to keep Vampire Cayley away. ;)

So, I know they have walled off the fountains in the Poly for construction...but they don't plan to eliminate them all together do they? That would just be so terrible! Do they KNOW how many folks use those gorgeous fountains for pictures? Please don't do it Disney!

My understanding is that fountain is gone for good.

We ate Kona on our trip too. This was our first time. I can't wait to go back again one day. It was so delicious. Your food looks amazing. Sorry about all the rain! It's really a bummer when that happens. I hope it stays away the rest of the night.

We'd done Kona a couple of times for breakfast, but never dinner. I'm trying to find a spot to squeeze it in for September so Mark can try it.

Dinner looks fabulous!

It really was (so was the dessert).

I have been to Disney in the monsoons they call rain. Not always fun although the kids liked it.

No, it's never fun being wet from head to toe.

Kona looks really good. I will have to add that to the places to try. I loved visiting the Poly but am afraid to see what they have done to it.

I was amazed how much I liked it.

Always catching up!

No worries, Maddie.

The girl's dresses are too cute!!

They say thank you!

I'm absolutely drooooling over that coffee rubbed pork chop. We were booked at the Poly for our trip this year but the all the construction really just proved to be too much and we switched! Its crazy to me that they are tearing sooo much of it up but keeping it open.

I wouldn't want to be anywhere near it with all of the construction. Plus I'm still not happy with what they are doing. I'm glad you changed resorts.

Rain rain rain!:crazy2:

Yes, it was.

Love the photos of Cayley! :littleangel: No more photos please!

She can be such a little snot at times....said lovingly.

Yumm Kona! I wish we had eaten there that night instead of Ohana....

I know, like us, you were not impressed with Ohana. Kona it is from now on for us when we want to eat at the Poly.

We love Kona Cafe! I just had the steak last year. Mine came with rice and brocolini. Do you know if Mary made some substitutions? Hers looks better with the potatoes and garlic.

I am pretty sure she did because Avery loves mashed potatos.

That waterfall will be so missed at the Poly. Oh, well...

Yes it will.

I hope the rain didn't mess up your evening plans. Florida rains have a way of getting over quickly.

You will see soon enough. They also have a way of staying around for awhile.

I know I've mentioned this before, but you have such a great smile. You smile like you really mean it.

You are so very sweet....thank you.

Rain in Florida? Again? Who knew? :lmao: I hate getting stuck in those down pours! I sure hope it let up for y'all in the evening. I have yet to eat at Kona but, man o man what a huge garlic bulb on the plate with the steak! Maybe that is their way of keeping all of the vampires away from the rare steaks? :rotfl:

Yeah, who would have thunk it would rain in Florida? ;) Dinner was so yummy...and the garlic must have done the trick. No vampires that evening.

Cayley looks so cute in her pouty pictures. Like quit taking pictures of me 'cause I'm ticked off that it's raining. :rotfl:

Or she was just tired of doing her girlie pose for me. :rotfl:

I'm glad that your meal at Kona was so good. We ate there and it was one of our most disappointing meals of the trip. I think that they were having an "off" night.

I'm so sorry you had a bad meal. :(

That pork chop looked so good. The next time I eat at Kona THAT is what I'm getting! ::yes::

I'm always afraid to order pork chops out in case they don't cook it fully; but I am so glad I got it. :thumbsup2

What a yummy looking dinner. We have yet to eat at Kona, planning a breakfast or lunch there sometime in the next year.

LOVE breakfast; I'd do that first!

Great pictures around the resort.

Thank you. :)

Hope the rain holds off for the rest of your evening :goodvibes

Me too!

TANZ!!!!! Must take this opportunity to say hello!!!!!! I just know you are going to come back to the DIS one of these days!

Isn't it great to see Tanz back?

Kathy - dinner looks delish and I can't think of a better place to be to wait out the rain. That pork chop looks especially good.

I was extremely pleased with my meal.

I hope the weather holds out for the rest of your evening! :thumbsup2

You'll find out soon.

Dinner was yummy. Judging by the red sauce on the pasta I cam going to say that Cayley shared with me. The steak was really yummy. I do hope to stay DVC at the Poly someday.

I'm so glad you suggested Kona for dinner, otherwise I probably would have never gone. That's right...Avery doesn't uise the sauce. I guess she just shared the potatos with you.

Always good for a snooze on Ellen after all your rides for that day.

I think Avery and I were the only ones awake the whole time.

Oh yes the Poly is a mess right now. I miss Kona and that Pork chop looks GOOOOD.

The more I keep reading about how all of you liked the look of our meals, the more I want to squeeze it in for Mark.

I hear you on the rain, tough being soggy, good for you getting dry socks.

Wet socks make ucky feet!

Late night plans.... I am sure with the coffee and the coffee rubbed pork chop you were hope to stay awake. :lmao:

You might be onto something there. ;)

Looks like a nice meal at Kona! I swear I've made reservations there 3-4 times, and always end up canceling for somewhere else....but the menu looks fabulous, for breakfast and dinner! We love the sushi bar too. This one needs to be on our ADR list for our next trip!

It really was very good and I hope you can get it on there. Sushi...never tried it and probably never will (Mark did in March in Vegas and he hated it and told me there was no way I'd like it).

 WHY! :sad1: Why mess with the POLY!!! I could be staying there in 52 days!!!!!

I know...it's so depressing Mo.

Somehow, I missed yesterday's update. That dinner looks marvelous! I want that steak right now. I don't care if it's only 9:30 in the morning, it looks delicious!! Kona's one we haven't tried yet. May have to add it to my list next time around.

Darla, no worries; I'm constantly going back to see if I missed an update. Mary reallyl enjoyed her steak.

Yikes. The skies were basically doing a #2 on your evening plans.

Up to that point they were!

Wet socks are awful. And hey, you found the Peeky Tiki!:thumbsup2

Yes I did find him. :)

Great choice! Kona Cafe doesn't get a lot of press for dinner, but it's one of our favorites.

I can see why, Mark.

Nice! The pineapple-glazed strip steak is pretty awesome, too.:thumbsup2

If I end up booking a dinner for Mark and I in September, I'll be sure to tell him.

Volcano cake! :cool1::woohoo:

So yummy. :worship:

I am all caught up again!!! :cool1:

So glad!

Your evening at the pool was brief but that slide sure looks like fun!!

We had a good time.

We never did make it to Rafiki's last summer. Guess I'll have to try that next time, again! LOL

Have you ever been? I can't remember.

I don't know; there has to be some kind of medium to make every one happy. The girls enjoyed their treats. You still had a Mickey Rice Krispie treat from last year? :rotfl2:

You had a very busy and productive morning at Epcot. I LOVED the photos of you all at the Character spot. Especially your group photo. Very cute!!! You made it to several attractions there during the day in spite of dodging the raindrops!

Thanks; it was fun meeting with Minnie. We did quite a bit accomplished.

Dinner at Kona looked very good! Have to try that one on one of our trips as well. Hopefully, by the time I get to return, the Poly will be done.

I wish the Poly would be done now. It's just so sad.

Looking forward to your EMH evening.

Thanks...someone guessed right where we were going. :thumbsup2

Too bad about the monsoon and the wet socks! I also hate wet socks!!!

Don't they just bother you? They make my feet all wrinkled and tight...drives me nuts.

Love all the pics of those cute girls!

Thanks, Sheree.

Kona - we've had breakfast and lunch here, no dinner yet. That steak calls to me though. I might want to try to fit that in our plans.

They do have a steak on the lunch menu, but not the one Mary had.

It's interesting to read TRs from over these months with the construction and see/read about the changes. Wonder what it will look like in December when we are there.

I will be expecting pictures from you to show us.

We saw that O' Canada a loooong time ago. We went on Ellen and visited stupid Judy on our last WDW trip in 2012. That should hold us for a while!

I think more people would like Ellen and Stupid Judy if they'd just update it a bit.

We had just finished a wonderful dinner at Kona and taken some pictures outside the beautiful Poly (well the part that isn't under construction anyway) and it was time to head to our final destination of the night.

We hopped on the monorial and we were off. And for the one person who guessed the Magic Kingdom (Linda), you were right:

As you can see, we stopped for some Memory Maker pictures:

After we got cute shots of the girls, we headed here:

From there, we went to see a mermaid:

The line for Ariel was a bit long, so we moved on to everyone's favorite elephant:

Continued in next post

After flying with Dumbo, we stopped in the big circus tent to see what they had. And the sweet girls did a pose for me to send to Mr. Mark with his favorite elephant:

Avery tried on a hat for Mr. Mark:

And, of course, Cayley got in on the action:

We had some popcorn and some cotton candy (no pictures) and I talked to Alisha on the phone (her aunt had died right before the trip and the funeral was on Saturday). A decision was made on who was staying for EMH's and who, if anyone, was not.

Before we would hit our next attraction, we walked back by the Little Mermaid as Cayley really wanted to see Ariel. Luckily, in the short time we were away, the line had gotten much shorter so we hopped in.

Ceiling waiting for Ariel

Then it was the girls turn to see Ariel:

Happiness that we saw Ariel:

Up next, do we ALL stay for EMH's? 3 of us? 2 of us? 1 of us? None? Come back and find out

Oh my word! The girls' magic shots are fantastic! They look so adorable!

So, how long were you in the park by the time the decision on whether or not to stay rolled around? The reason I ask is that you were able to do quite a few things in what seems like a short period of time.

Aren't they? :)

About an hour and 45 minutes.
