I am looking for a hotel/resort for my parents for $20 to $60 a night near walt disney world. It will be for dates feb 11 & 12 i believe. We are staying at pop century but the cheapest rate i can get for them is $82 a night they really are not wanting to spend that much. I am not to familiar with area around disney. We did however stay at the days inn lake buena vista in 2003 it was a nice cheap hotel, but it is under construction right now. So any help i would be greatly thankful for.

We have stayed at the Gator Motel. It was in the 25 dollar range and out by Wal-Mart on 192. We found it clean and nice with a decent pool but its been a few years/

I don't think that you will find anything decent for $20????? If your parents are willing to spend $60 a night, perhaps they can cut their trip short one evening and stay at the POP with you and your DD. Think of all the hassle you will save just by being in the same resort as them.

Any reason they can't stay in your room? My DD would love to have her grandparents with her. Just a suggestion.

Do you subscribe to allearsnet.com ? You can sometimes get discounts for hotels there. Have you checked for any other discount codes? I have seen the value resorts at wdw for $65 before.
Also, you can do a hotel search on travelocity.com or expedia.com , they will show you all the hotels with prices ranges.

forgot if you parents don't have a rental car or their own - then don't try offsite.

if they live in Florida - you are aware of the Florida resident rates?

-- My pick: the Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista is $45/night direct (Google their website, click the link to packages & select the "save up to 25%..." option). A resort-type property (in an excellent location off Palm Parkway -- many resturants within walking distance or drive to DTD in 5-minutes or easily get to Seaword/Universal/International Drive in 10... many resturants within walking distance) with basic -- but newly renovated -- rooms. Yes, it borders the freeway but the noise isn't noticeable once you're in your room.

-- Try Priceline. The 3* Sheraton Safari hits at $39, $40, $45, $46, $49 (or sometimes higher) depending on your dates. The 2.5* Hampton Inn LBV as well as the Amerisutes LBV hit at $36. The 2* Best Western Lakeside hits at $28. Sometimes the Ramada Plaza Inn Gateway hits lower. With Priceline you're bidding on a star-quality, not a specific hotel, and no given property is guaranteed. Use biddingfortravel.com for more info.

Sounds silly, but my step dad snors like a train there is no way.

I have looked for discounts but from what i can find right now is $82 at pop. I will check into the other places though thanks for the help

It doesn't sound silly at all....DH snores, I would do anything not to have to hear it. Hope you find yourself a great rate somewhere. :)

Why not pick up the cost of the room for the 2 nights? They'll be safe and near as opposed to the unknown.

You can look at rates for the Orlando Magicard when you download it for free. There are some substantial savings there.

As someone already mentioned, the Magicard would be a great help to you. One of the DTD hotels on hotel plaza blvd (grosvenor?) is around $60 using this card, I believe.

I would second Priceline. I haven't used it for Orlando since they only guarantee double occupancy & there are five of us. I have used it for other trips though and have gotten some extremely good values (less than $50 for rooms normally at $250 or more). Hotwire may work for you as well. You may even be able to figure out which hotel the rooms are in by checking on betterbidding.com.

I hate to say it, but anything in that price range is most likely going to be less than satisfactory IMO. I've seen the Gator motel that the OP mentioned and I would definitely avoid it. I've previously stayed at the Comfort Suites Lake Buena Vista and would say that it's OK but not the greatest. Our personal favorite is the Comfort Suites Maingate East next to Old Town. With the Orlando Magicard your parents should be able to get a good deal, plus they have a free continental breakfast.

Bonny

I would recommend against Gator Motel though. The price is low, but that area has been quite run down lately. The price maybe low, but IMO, the area is downright scary at night.

We just came home from a super budget trip, and stayed at 2 different motels in the Maingate East/192 East area. I got them on Hotwire for about $30 per night. We stayed 2 nights at Days Inn Maingate East- I would not recommend it. Rooms were small, run down, and the service was pretty non-existant. We also stayed at the Howard Johnson Maingate East, and liked it better. Ther pool is nice, the room was huge, and there was a kitchenette in it. Housekeeping did a good job, and the commute to the parks was really quick and easy. For $30 a night, I'd stay there again, no problem.

No offense, but that place and the entire area always gave me the creeps.

Frankly I wouldn't want to put my parents there.
